...We'd had some pretty good hotels on our trip to Andalucia, and we hoped that the hotel we had picked for our final three days wouldn't be any different. We wanted a comfortable room in a hotel on the beach with a nice sea view, but nothing too remote so that we could still enjoy all the facilities of a resort. Did we get what we wanted? Well, read on... We booked the HOTEL PERLA MARINA, in the town of NERJA, through bancotel.com. This is a Spanish based travel site whereby you purchase 'cheques' for 50 euros each. Depending on the hotel, season etc, a room costs between 1-3 cheques per night. This can mean savings of over 60% in some cases. Being the intrepid bargain hunter (some would say tight-fisted git) that I am, I managed to book a series of 3 and 4 star hotels for 50 euros. This hotel was no exception. Nerja is around...

...Untraceable is a horror/thriller which takes place in Portland. Jennifer Marsh (Diane Lane) is a single parent looking after young daughter Anne (Perla Haney-Jardine) she works at the F.B.I's cyber crime division. They focus on solving identity thefts & small crimes similar. They hear about a website called killwithme.com & decide to check it out. The website features live streaming of a kitten being tortured & eventually killed. The F.B.I are naturally concerned but think that maybe it was just a one off. They visit the site again & what they see shocks them beyond belief. This time it's not a kitten being tortured it's a human being. You don't see it coming! Must see movie!

Advantages: You get to see what happens! Very entertaining!
Disadvantages: You never want it to end ... but it does...

...-make-sense Tarantino movies, this has it all! I don't want to give away anything but I will say that it was one of the few movies where at a certain point I didn't know what was going to happen. It sure beats typical Hollywood cinema. Uma Therman gives a memorable and outstanding performance (I think she looks fantastic with the sword!). Quentin Tarantino has truly found his muse. Very good on screen chemistry between Uma Therman and David Carradine who is very good as well. Why go to Callao

Advantages: Cheap, Fortress
Disadvantages: Not many things to see, away from Lima

...Callao is the main sea port of Peru and lies next to Lima. You will have to visit it since Jorge Chavez International Airport is there. As soon as you step out of the airport you will see what most of Callao looks like: an industrial area full of depots, army bases and suburban houses in a bad state. But it does have its attractions, all mainly in area called La Punta. Real Felipe is the fortress at the seaside which defended the city from pirates like Sir Francis Drake in Peru's colonial era (but you can't go inside). La Perla is what remains of the upper class beach houses during last century. Otherwise Callao has very little to offer, I would recommend you spend your time in Lima and visit Callao only if you are curious and brave. I certainly do not recommend staying overnight in Callao....

Give me a Belle!

Advantages: Light-hearted and witty
Disadvantages: Isn't as erotic as portrayed

...less hours. To give you an idea she won't earn less than £200 per hour. She works for an agency as Belle reckons being independent is too much hassle, working and paying commission through an agency allows her more time to concentrate on the finer things of life; an afternoon underwear shopping at La Perla, a three hour lunch with her male friends (most of her friends are male) or flicking through holiday brochures to plan her next holiday. With all her witty and light-hearted banter it's easy to get caught up in Belle's world and think of her as self-obsessed. It's possible that Belle isn't really as indulgent and selfish as she seems in the book, perhaps she does voluntary work for The Samaritans, we will ever know! In my opinion the book would have been boring if it wasn't for her "secret" life, she does all the things us normal...

Gripping All The Way!

Advantages: Gripping, thrilling, highly entertaining!
Disadvantages: Perhaps a little too long!

Daryl Hannah ? again a well known actress, previous appearances include The Job, A Walk to Remember and First Target. She?s always come across to me as someone suited to playing the heroine, or the blonde bimbo, but she does surpass herself in this role, quite vindictive too! Budd ? Michael Madsen Pai Mei ? Chia Hui Liu Esteban Vihaio ? Michael Parks B.B. ? Perla Haney-Jardine My Opinion? Listen Carefully? Now I?m not really a fan of action and gore movies at all, give me a romantic comedy any day but I do have to admit now? What a superb and fabulous film! This is one of the rare and few occasions on which the sequel has actually outdone the prequel or first film, I often feel slightly let done...

The Crown Casino

Advantages: SO much variety
Disadvantages: Can be expensive

...the complex. There is also bowling facilities and cinema. There is just SO much to choose from. SHOPPING Here you can shop till you drop. Crown offers a variety of top designers such as - FCUK, Burberry, Versace, La Perla - just to name a few. There is something for everyone. I really enjoyed it, just looking around. Even if you don't want to spend anything, it's worth a visit and entry is FREE!!! The architecture and interior is so well done. You won't be dissapointed....

Nerja - what a beautiful resort

Advantages: Old style Spain
Disadvantages: quite a steep walk to the beach

...he's cooking his huge lunchtime paella, get there around 12.30, just as he's dishing up. Don't expect the best service in the world, but the paella is second to none! In town there are a myriad of restaurants, and some wonderful ice-cream parlours. The Balcon is worth a trip, looking out over the bay and great for pictures. I wouldn't stay in the Capistrano village because it's a long walk from the main town and the Perla Marina looks a little shabby, but we spoke to some people who were staying there who said it was "fine". We booked our villa though www.Inter-sol.com who gave top-drawer service....
