persil washing powder pleasant but not good for eczema

Advantages: long lasting smell
Disadvantages: harsh to skin even non-bio verson. too expensive

...on the few times i have used persil i loved the smell. the smell always seemed to last a good few days. unfortunately the product always started my eczema off at first i did not realise it was the washing powder but after a few times of use with other products inbetween i realised it was the problem. also my son who also has sensitive skin had a rash on his face which was were his clothes had been rubbing- tis cleared up when i stopped wasing his clothes in persil. the cleaning power is good- however i would not say it was anything special. i feel it it is also expensive compared to other non leading brands. i would not buy persil again as it is very harsh to sensitive skin and i feel it is too expensive....

Persil the original non-bio

Advantages: It cleans
Disadvantages: The tab opening.

...In our childless days I used to grab any washing powder off the shelf. It was usually the cheapest shop's own brand. This product is manufactured by Lever Faberge. Why the change to Persil non-bio? My son has sensitive skin. After extensive searches and testing of other powders, I found Persil non-bio. What it states on the box: 'Persil the original Non-Biological does not contain enzymes. Many people have found Persil Non-Biological formulations particularly suitable for their skin. But please note that no effective washing product can be guaranteed suitable for people with serious skin conditions. If you suffer from unusually sensitive skin, please contact your doctor for advice.' The packaging is quite eye-catching blue, white with the Persil name in red. There is a cute little baby on the front. The box I...

Persil washing up liquid: perfume for crockery

Advantages: Does the job
Disadvantages: Leaves scent is cups and mugs

...Why, oh why, I ask myself, do good brand names play around with their products and end up making them worse, instead of better. It happened with Special K when they converted to bigger flakes instead of the tiny ones and the taste was ruined. Um! Sorry getting carried away on another topic. Well, what they have done to Persil washing up liquid is a similar thing. (No, they haven?t made it into flakes.) Something has happened to the formula. I used to use Persil for when I hand wash dishes but went over to Fairy. The other day I decided to go back because I spotted a beautifully, milky, pale green coloured aloe vera Persil liquid and I really quite fancied it. Anyway, I did my usual and just squirted the liquid into the wash up bowl, added hot water and started the job. There were a lot of bubbles for amount of the product I had used...

Daz Washing Powder: A standard price for an excellent performance

Advantages: Great scent, good cleaning powder, great price.
Disadvantages: None.

...I am staying at my Mums at present and Daz is the soap powder that she has currently purchased. The box is red, white & blue and stands out on the soap powder shelves as quite a recognisable product. The box has a handy pour spout which you just pull out of one side and this helps to pour the soap powder directly in to the washing machine drawer. The soap powder has a standard fresh, clean scent to it and nothing that I could put my finger on. The box states that it contains enough for 10 washes but my Mum says that she usually makes this last a good 15-20 washes as she rarely has soiled washing or even complete loads as for the most part she lives alone and just has her clothes & bedding to wash. I did not actually measure out a particular amount and just sprinkled it in to the drawer, I would definitely say that I used far less than 10...

Review of Daz Washing Powder

Why Persil?

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

...How many washing powder manufacturers are there? Not that many as i am sure you are aware. So how come that these manufacturers all have more than one product hiding under a different and why do they claim that one is better than the other. It seems daft to me that a manufacturer quite openly admits that he sells inferior products. Is it them or us that is mad? So what has this got to do with Persil? Nothing I suppose except that, for some reason, there does not seem to be a better product and provided one uses the non-biological kind one does seem to be more comfortable in one's clothes does'nt one?...

Persil with essence of comfort

Advantages: brilliant cleaning on whites, fresh smelling,
Disadvantages: no colour protection, fades coloured clothes

...Persil with essence of comfort is a detergent with a hint of added fabric conditioner. This is a new product which comes in powder, tablet and liquid varients. I bought this powder in a 1.1kg box for £2.88. I usually use Ariel or Daz because decided to try persil. this powder has a really nice fresh smell to it, it smells slightly of comfort which is really nice. It washes really well, whites get really white on a 40 degree cycle so hot washes aren't really that necessary unless you have really really grubby heavy soiled laundry or unless you wash bedding at 60 which i do. This powder can be used at 30 40 50 60 or 95 degrees centigrade. The texture of the powder is quite thick and heavy and contains blue grains in it (which are the comfort conditioner grains). I've found in the past using other varients of persil that this powder doesn...

NON-BIO BEATS THE REST

Advantages: VALUE FOR MONEY
Disadvantages: NONE THAT I CAN THINK OF

...I have used persil for a good many years as I find it cleans the clothes really well, removing stains and leaving a really fresh smell into the bargain. I think more people use persil than any other powder, I have tried others and sometimes still do, but still I come back to persil. You can buy it as a liquid, powder, and tablets. You can also buy persil purely for hand washing. I did stop using it a few years ago, as it was biological, something I didn't realise at the time, and my family started to come out in rashes, and were itching like mad. However, once the non bio came out I started to use it again, as non of the others seemed to clean as well as this. THE PACKAGING. ************* The box is mainly blue, with white at the top of the box, and in the centre is a picture of a little girl and a baby. In big red...

£1.64 for 3kg. Asda Smartprice Washing Powder is super smart!

Advantages: Cost effective and does the job!
Disadvantages: None in my opinion

...Review of Asda Smart Price Biological Washing Powder I first purchased Asda's own brand biological washing powder a few months ago as part of my budget cutting exercise. Asda do various washing powders and this review covers the basic range version, known as 'Smartprice'. The powder comes in two sizes, 3kg and 1kg . I am reviewing the 3kg size. The Product and Packaging As the name Smartprice indicates, this is biological washing powder is aimed at the budget end of the market. The product is made in the EU for Asda. The washing powder is designed for automatic washing machines or hand washing and the 3kg box will provide approximately 30 wash loads. The price for this size is £1.64. The powder is packaged in a sturdy cardboard box. The packaging is basic, a white background with a green flash along the bottom of the box...

I LOVE GETTING DIRTY

Advantages: realy does clean and brighten your clothes, makes them smell fresh too, biodegradable materials used in production
Disadvantages: may adversely effect some hyper sensitive conditions

...Most people I am sure have used Persil washing powder at some point in their lives, if you haven't used it yourself then I am sure you have at least heard of it. You would be hard pushed not to have heard of it, condidering it has been around for the last 90 years! Persil claim that they are one of the favourite washing powders in the UK, a claim I am not about to dispute. It is indeed my powder of choice, the original non bio one. I have tried thier other formats - liquids and tablets but feel more in control with the powder. The name is derived from its two main ingredients :- perborate and silicate (Persil). There are 3 types of skin type in my household, normal bordering elephant hide, that will withstand almost anything. Fairly sensetive skin, prone to occasional dry/eczema patches and very sensitive skin - reacts to...

Vera, Vera, where for art thou Vera

Advantages: The smell. Clothes stay fresh for longer
Disadvantages: None

...Persil non-biological washing powder with Aloe Vera is their lastest product on the market. The main reason why I bought this really was because it was £1 off the marked price. So, instead of paying £2.89, I paid £1.89 for a 1.15kg box. Not bad, 'eh? It says you can get up to 15 washes out of it, and it is dermatologically tested. On the side of the box it tells you what's in the box. It says it contains added Aloe Vera (real Aloe Vera extract) which may contain traces of plant enzymes. You can also read on the back of the box about Aloe Vera - where it is used, by whom and what for etc. It is reputed that it was even Cleopatra's beauty secret! Well, it could have been! The packet itself is quite a refreshing one. The box is white, with a green aloe vera drop going into a green pool of water. Now, onto the wash...
