COYOTE UGLY
Advantages: A good fun filled 100 minutes.
Disadvantages: None.
...- COYOTE UGLY -
Coyote Ugly was released in the year 2000 and directed by David McNally and written by Gina Wendkos. Starring Piper Perabo and Adam Garcia. The Genre is Romantic Comedy/Drama. BBFC Rating: 12. Running Time: 100 mins. 'Coyote Ugly' is based upon the actual bar in New York City.-
Aspiring young songwriter Violet Sanford (Piper Perabo) decides to leave her father (John Goodman) and her home in a small town and head to the Big Apple where she will seek fame and fortune and have her finger on the pulse of all that is going on in the world of music. But the naive Violet is unpractised in the ways of the big city, and all efforts to get her demo tape fail, and she is left broke and destitute in the city she envisaged would become her oyster. Additionally, her run down apartment gets broken into and she is left...

What is A Coyote Ugly??
Advantages: Adam Garcia
Disadvantages: None that i can think off
...Hello people, I am writing my review based on the film "Coyote Ugly", it was released back in 2000 and directed by David McNelly and written by Gina Wendkos. What is Coyote Ugly I hear you ask well? it is? "Did you ever wake up sober after a one night stand, and the person you're next to is lying on your arm, and they're so ugly, you'd rather chew off your arm then risk waking 'em? That's coyote ugly." It is a brilliant film for anyone male or female, it is a good film that has to be seen even if it is just once!! The film actually won 4 awards and was nominated for another 4 awards. It is on for about an hour and half and is rated a PG.
Basic Storyline
Violet is an aspiring song writer, she is in her early 20's and heads to New York City leaving her father Bill behind, to become successful and earn some money in order to...

Peter Kaye : volume 1?
Advantages: Funny family chap
Disadvantages: No celeb stuff
...The book, like the retro comic in question, is a simple and honest read. No long words or pretentious reasoning, just one man telling his story. They say you should only write what you know, and that is exactly what Peter has done here, quite literally! Everything he ever did, however mundane, seems to have ended up in this book, and for that reason alone I don?t think this will appeal to all, especially as he doesn?t include his rise to fame and celebrity, the reason why most people would spend a preposterous £18.95 on it, the autobiography abruptly coming to halt just as we get going.
Maybe its part one of his autobiography. Who knows? Maybe he feels guilty about his fame and fortune and by telling more funny stories on his homely normal life is enough for the Jolly Bolton boy for now, working class guilt getting the better of him...

Review of The Sound of Laughter - Peter Kay

With friends like Peter's . . .
Advantages: Easy watching, some good acting and great vocal performances
Disadvantages: Acting from some of the cast is a bit over-the-top
...This is one of those films that nobody else seems to have heard of and - up until a few years ago - neither had I. Indeed, I have my passion for 1980s pop music to thank for my knowledge that this film even exists. For reasons I don't even remember, I came across a website listing the lyrics to Tears For Fears' mid-eighties hit Everybody Wants To Rule The World and whichever page I viewed mentioned a variety of films, TV programmes and albums that the song featured in. One of these was Peter's Friends . . . so I admit it, I first watched this film because one of my favourite songs was part of the soundtrack! (I can sometimes be a bit more shallow than other people believe . . . actually there are quite a few 1970s/1980s songs in here, which I think suits the mood of the film.)
In a way, I find it surprising that Peter's Friends seems to...

FREE DVDs
Advantages: Free trial, large choice, post included, new realeases
Disadvantages: see review
...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them.
∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊
Basically it?s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don?t pay for each film you chose ? rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends...

I Wanna Be A Coyote!!
Advantages: great sound track, believeable characters, feel good film
Disadvantages: some sad parts
...I was bought Coyote Ugly by my best friend for Christmas about 3 years ago and I absolutely love the film! I would probably classify this film as a 'chick flick' but my boyfriend and male friend's have watched this film and enjoyed it so don't let that put you off.
The Story
Violet Sanford (played by Piper Perabo) is a singer/songwriter and decides to move from small downtown Jersey to New York to try and get her work recognised. Not having much money, she has to rent a small run down apartment. She send out demon tapes of her music to hundreds of companies and they are all returned to her without even being opened.
One night, Violet is out having a few drinks when she runs into Kevin O'Donnell (played by Adam Garcia). She is told by one of Kevin's friends that Kevin is the owner of the club there are in. You can see there...

Coyote's Groove
Advantages: Piper really has you rooting for her to be successful throughout the film.
Disadvantages: n/a
...It was a decision between either What Lies Beneath and this at the cinema this particular Friday night. Coyote Ugly won and I am glad it did.
This film follows the story of Violet Sandford (Piper Perabo – The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle) who moves away from her father William (John Goodman – The Big Easy, Roseanne, Punchline, Arachnophobia, The Flintstones, The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle) in Jersey to make it big as a songwriter in New York. She also happens to have one of the most gorgeous singing voices to boot. The only thing is she has never had the courage to get up on stage and sing her songs for herself and will only do so in privacy.
This is a psychological problem, which is linked to her mother, also a singer/songwriter who died several years beforehand.
Once in New York she begins a long...

Coyote ugly
Advantages: some good songs
Disadvantages: some not so good songs
...I recently saw the film, Coyote Ugly and loved the songs used in the film. So I decided to buy the soundtrack. After a week or so I had finally got the album and was ready to play it, but then I found out that only 50% of the CD had decent songs, and the best ones were by LeAnne Rymes, the singer of Coyote Uglys theme tune, can't fight the moonlight. The others are quite good but are those type of songs which get boring after a while.
The track listings are below:
1. Can't Fight the Moonlight - LeAnn Rimes
This is the theme tune which as you probably know got to number 1 in the charts. A great track thats great to listen to over and over again.
2. Please Remember - LeAnn Rimes
Also a good song by LeAnn. Has a catchy tune.
3. The Right Kind Of Wrong - LeAnn Rimes
This is one of my favourites. An exellent song which I...

Review of Coyote Ugly - Original Soundtrack
|
Coyote GORGEOUS
Advantages: Pretty Girls. Great debut performances. Superb soundtrack. Did I mention Good looking girls?
Disadvantages: Under-useage of John Goodman. The annoying aussie accent of Garcia.
...Coyote Ugly. Not exactly a title screaming of great girls and a fun story. After all, "ugly" never really sold a film before now did it(excluding THAT western)!
This is the story of Violet (Piper Perabo - Rocky and Bulwinkle), a young songwriter who moves to the big city to get her songs heard by the record execs. Her songs arent bad, but hits a few setbacks when the record companies ay that she has to go to an open mic night before they will buy a song. She also has her apartment broken into and all of her money stolen.
Because of this she is forced to seek work, and ends up working in a bar; but not just any bar - THE bar! Coyote Ugly is its name, and Lil is its owner. She's been a coyote all of her life and her girls are all gorgeous, strong minded and fun loving. The bars main attraction are the bar staff, who get up and dance...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54
Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.
...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied.
On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...
