Peter Kaye : volume 1?
Advantages: Funny family chap
Disadvantages: No celeb stuff
...The book, like the retro comic in question, is a simple and honest read. No long words or pretentious reasoning, just one man telling his story. They say you should only write what you know, and that is exactly what Peter has done here, quite literally! Everything he ever did, however mundane, seems to have ended up in this book, and for that reason alone I don?t think this will appeal to all, especially as he doesn?t include his rise to fame and celebrity, the reason why most people would spend a preposterous £18.95 on it, the autobiography abruptly coming to halt just as we get going.
Maybe its part one of his autobiography. Who knows? Maybe he feels guilty about his fame and fortune and by telling more funny stories on his homely normal life is enough for the Jolly Bolton boy for now, working class guilt getting the better of him...

With friends like Peter's . . .
Advantages: Easy watching, some good acting and great vocal performances
Disadvantages: Acting from some of the cast is a bit over-the-top
...This is one of those films that nobody else seems to have heard of and - up until a few years ago - neither had I. Indeed, I have my passion for 1980s pop music to thank for my knowledge that this film even exists. For reasons I don't even remember, I came across a website listing the lyrics to Tears For Fears' mid-eighties hit Everybody Wants To Rule The World and whichever page I viewed mentioned a variety of films, TV programmes and albums that the song featured in. One of these was Peter's Friends . . . so I admit it, I first watched this film because one of my favourite songs was part of the soundtrack! (I can sometimes be a bit more shallow than other people believe . . . actually there are quite a few 1970s/1980s songs in here, which I think suits the mood of the film.)
In a way, I find it surprising that Peter's Friends seems to...

FREE DVDs
Advantages: Free trial, large choice, post included, new realeases
Disadvantages: see review
...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them.
∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊
Basically it?s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don?t pay for each film you chose ? rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54
Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.
...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied.
On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

The Magic of Peter Pan
Advantages: Lots of special features and a great movie
Disadvantages: ....... None really
...Peter Pan 2-Disc Special Edition
Adapted from the stage play of Sir James Barrie comes Walt Disney's masterpiece Peter Pan. This timeless classic is sprinkled with the magic of Disney, capturing the essence of Barrie's original screenplay.
As a two-disc special edition, the film has been digitally restored with enhanced picture and sound. It is bursting with special features from the Disney archive.
Peter Pan was a story that Walt Disney himself held close to his heart, so much so that it took almost two decades putting the finishing touches to the film. With so much effort put into it, there is no surprise that this Disney Classic has remained a prominent favourite for over 50 years.
Peter Pan is full of adventure, interesting characters, music, laughs, faith, trust and of course pixie dust!
The traditional story of Peter...

Peter's Zenith
Advantages: It's Peter Gabriel
Disadvantages: None come to mind
...Peter Gabriel 5 (So)…
For those of you out there who don’t know who Peter Gabriel is here is a short history.
He was born in London in 1950 on the thirteenth of February he started his musical career with the progressive rock band Genesis their first release was called “From Genesis to Revelations” in 1969, this album was produced by the now infamous Jonathan King and is the only album in their back catalogue that isn’t available form the bands website remember this album was made when all the band members had just left public school and had never played the music live so for all you followers of Genesis be warned, as I write this the collection is about to be re-issued by the label “Edsel” with a bonus disc of outtakes, for those of you lucky enough not to have heard this Gabriel’s...

St Peter's Church, Edensor
Advantages: Lots of history, beautiful setting
Disadvantages: Not everyone's ideal place to visit
...the main road into the village.
At the centre of the village is St Peter's Church, which dominates the village. The entrance to this is best accessed via Japp Lane and the spire of this Church can be seen from many miles away.
This Church was built in 1870 and was originally created as a place of worship for the Duke of Devonshire, his family and his staff. Today the current Duke and Duchess still use this Church as their regular place of worship and they can often be found here during Sunday service.
For such a relatively modern Church this is quite a grand affair. It has an architectural style that predates its true origin by a couple of centuries and there are wonderful stained glass windows and lots of fancy gold decorations on both the inside and the outside of the Church. This is a true demonstration of the amount of wealth that...

PETER PAN FOR THE 21ST CENTURY
Advantages: Great story, wonderful fx, heart warming
Disadvantages: Minor complaints re some fx
...When considering what ingredients should go into a movie to make the ideal children?s fantasy, action flick, I guess sword fights, pirates, mermaids and a whole vista of special effects would be high on the list. So it appeared when we saw the trailer for the latest, live action incarnation of the immortal J M Barrie story of Peter Pan.

Poor Show Peter Alan!
Advantages: Local to most people, NAEA Members
Disadvantages: Work for the buyer, not the seller
...This is from a perspective of a seller.
6 years ago, I bought my first house with Peter Alan, being 18 and not being very worldly, I thought their service was alright, lack of communication was my only real gripe with them.
After I moved in, I watched as over the years, Peter Alan boards were going up and having sold slips on them relatively quickly, so when the time came to sell, Peter Alan was an obvious choice, my husband is also an estate agent but markets in a different part of town and he agreed Peter Alan would be the logical choice to sell the house, with their 'local expertise' & they are members of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), which not all estate agents are members of.
I looked up my local branch, phoned and explained I had bought my house through them & now I would like to sell through them...

Peters OK
Advantages: the comedy
Disadvantages: maybe not enough of the more recent times?
...Best autobiography ever. Well although i dont read many this has got to still be one of the best.
To be able to really understand this book you will have needed to watched any live stand up from Peter Kay or any TV show ( Max and Paddy or Live at the Blackpool tower for example)
In the book Peter describes his childhood upbringing along with some fun memories along the way. After this he tells us how he gt into the comedy scene and the amount of struggles he got throught to get where he is today.
As soon as you have read the first page and seen the amount of comedy that is going to be involved in this book you instantly know you are going to be hooked and from then on the book will not leave your hands until you have finished it.
Most of all the mixture of serious issues he uses with the comedy is what really makes this book...
