...A nice plain English op on a car. I purchased my Peugeot 406Hdi rapier Saloon in December 2001. Only the second brand new car I had ever purchased. The first being a Peugeot 305 a few years ago. That car had given me many trouble free miles so I thought I would stick with them. I suppose it?s a bit like the devil you know. As a cab driver in London it had to be a diesel car. Economy is the Number one rule as saving money these days is so important. There was a company in Scotland offering the best deal so I phoned, and arranged delivery. A week later my shiny metallic China blue Peugeot 406 car arrived. I like a largish car that?s comfortable. I like reliability and economy fuel consumption. My Peugeot!

Advantages: Great Looking, Agile, Fun.
Disadvantages: Diesel, Horrible seating position!

...frequently goes off when letting people in on your side, which can be annoying at times, especially at night or when trying to make a quiet exit! *Interior and seating* Peugeot are not known for their brilliant interiors, and as you would expect, this is not any different, the seating is pretty average until you go to use it. The way the seats are positioned is ridiculous, and getting the drivers seat in the correct position for you can be a chore at times, especially if you share the car like I do. The method of moving the seat forward to let people into the back seat of the 3 door version is very awkward nd fragile, as we have discovered many times previously, when it has broken or ceased to function correctly. Other than this it is pretty average inside for a car of its type, the back seats fold down quite well, ad you get the dashboard...

...PEUGEOT 206 1.4 FEVER 3dr PETROL (REG '04) I was so surprised to see that on my first visit to the Peugeot section of Ciao, the reputation of the Peugeot 206 is so high. Maybe I'm the one unlucky owner of one, or maybe Peugeot have assigned their employees aliases with which to trail the web and sing the car's praises. I'm not going to slate the car, just describe my observations of the vehicle from my experience, so that hopefully, you would reconsider if you like. I bought mine in June '04 from a Warwick Wright Dealership in London, with only 12.1 miles on the clock. New enough, so I was happy, as every car has test miles. Later on I would make my assumptions that maybe the Stig from Top Gear did my road test for me. The whole 'Fever' thing was promotional, just meant they beefed it up a little with fog lights, custom interior...

Advantages: Stylish looks, stylish interior, nice alloys

...I was forced into a purchase of another car as I had wrote off my previous one (Peugeot 106). As I had liked my old car I decided to get another Peugeot. Originally, I had wanted a second hand 307 but was lured by the free insurance and looks of the new 206 Sport. I really like the look of the 206 Sport. The interior is very nice also, with the red and black trim. The one damper though, is the istrument panel with the stereo and air conditioning controls. It just looks out of place against the rest of the interior. It's as if they did a great job with the rest of the car and then suddenly they only had half an hour left to design the instrument panel! It's also pretty cramped inside (I have the three door model) and I'm a short person. It is especially the case for the rear passengers where leg room is minimal. But as I am fairly...

Peugeot 206 Look (AC) 3DR

Advantages: Nice looking Car - very nippy!
Disadvantages: Awful, awful, awful - would never buy again!

...I wanted a 206 after having two Peugeot 205s which were reliable and fantastic little runners - I thought the 206 would be the perfect upgrade. I choose the Look - a special edition which gave extra features - Air Conditioning, metallic paint, CD player, dual airbags plus more. I also had ABS added on as an extra - which was a must for safety. It is a lovely looking car and when working is a fantastic and nippy drive - I loved it - until things went wrong! Day one - the indicator unit broke - apparently a common fault. First month - leak in passengers footwell - more like a flood - again a common fault. Leak in passengers foot well and under back seats - windscreen resealed. Intermittent electrical faults - hard to prove - but the believed me eventually - faulty interior lights and headlights not turning on/off. Coil...

Peugeot 106 = S**T

Advantages: It got me a year no claims bonus

...My first car. My first REAL nightmare. I know that all cars are different, but based on my experiance, im never getting another 106. I found a new problem around every corner. It was probably more to do with the fact that i got the car from a cowboy garage, compared to the car make/style, but none the less it was a real let down. I got the car a couple of weeks after passing my test...first time i might add...aesthetically it was brilliant. Possibly not the best colour to choose, it was shannon green, but i think it was more snot green/pea green. It was a five door, Peugeot 106 XN. 1997 P-reg 1.1. Advantages: great looks, performance, reliability and value for money

...i have been a peugeot owner for over 5 years now and have to say how happy i am with the car itself. I own a peugeot 306 xsi, it has a 2 litre 16 valve engine, which is pretty much exactly the same engine as in the renault megane 2.0 16 valve sport cars. (which incidentally is not as fast on a track from personnal experience). When searching for the ideal car for me, i narrowed it down to two in the same catagory of small sporty hachbacks, the volkswagen golf gti and the peugeot 306 xsi, (roughly the same insurance, price etc etc...). Obviously in the end i decided upon the peugeot, admittedly it was based on looks alone! this is a fantastic looking car as im sure anyone would agree, well after the 1997 facelift anyway, but when you start to drive the car itself you will be glad you bought one. great ride comfort in seats that hold you...

...After reading the awful experience of Peugeot dealerships by a previous contributer I just had to share my own experience of my problems with the Peugeot Dealership of Evans Halshaw on Roseville Road in Leeds. I have been a customer for nearly 10 years initially due to having Company Cars that required service and then latterly with privately owned vehicles. I traded my trustly 406 in for a 407 in May 2007 and that is where all my problems started. This site is not big enough to record ALL my grievances suffice to say that I had tremendous problems in the first three-six months of ownership ranging from false promises to not even receiving the spec of car I thought I had purchased!! Every time I rang to speak to the person who had previously dealt with me I found that they had 'left the company'. This happened at least FOUR times...

My Peugeot 205 GT

...I am a new driver of only 1 and 1/2 months, 17 years old. I passed my test on the first attempt, which surprised the hell out of me. Fortunately, my dad had already bought me a car for my birthday about 3 months before. This car was my very own Peugeot 205 GT (G reg). It's a sort of slivery blue, 5 door. I have to say that I whole heartedly love this car, it is actually my favourite posession, so I thought I would write a review to reflect how it does from a first car point of view. Firstly, safety: I have to admit that the fact that it doesn't have any airbags does bother me. I also get worried about the alarm, as it doesnt have one, but that could easily be fixed by getting one fitted.
