Peugeot 106 = S**T

Advantages: It got me a year no claims bonus
Disadvantages: everything you can think of

...My first car. My first REAL nightmare. I know that all cars are different, but based on my experiance, im never getting another 106. I found a new problem around every corner. It was probably more to do with the fact that i got the car from a cowboy garage, compared to the car make/style, but none the less it was a real let down. I got the car a couple of weeks after passing my test...first time i might add...aesthetically it was brilliant. Possibly not the best colour to choose, it was shannon green, but i think it was more snot green/pea green. It was a five door, Peugeot 106 XN. 1997 P-reg 1.1. Possibly the best style of car to get for a father and soon to be husband for a first car. But, however, that is where the situation began to change. My opinion of the peugeot 106 1.1

Advantages: cheap, reliable, nice looking car.
Disadvantages: abit small inside.

...I think that the Peugeot 106 has been a good little car since they brought them out. The peugeot is the same as the Citroen saxo but a peugeot style, The first one that come out was a (H) 1991 and all the way up to a (04) plate. Inside the pedels are a bit close together and not much room but you would get used of it. The little 1.1 engine is small but not bad for around town, you cont go fast on the roads now because speed cameras and lots of people on the roads. The peugeot is nice and easy to park in parking spots and driving them are easy. The new 106 looks alot better then the old 106 they have inproved it alot more and is a little bit bigger and easy to get in and out. Its good for a young person who has just passed their test or a older person, the insurance and tax are cheap but best of all the petrol lasts...

Peugeot 106 1.1 independence

Advantages: Cheap to run, cheaky looks, Pokey engine
Disadvantages: Not many a little small in the foot well if i ahd to ifnd 1

...I have owned my little pug 106 indepence with 37,000 miles and one previous owner now for about 8 months and in that time i have great fun, i have also managed to come up with the following reveiw Exterior: Mine is apparently silver so pugeot say but i feel it is more a bluey silver, htis colour i feel suits the car showing its cheaky curves off well. The car is proportioned just right the overhangs at the front and rear are small and tidy and even though it doesnt boast such a sporting exterior as the gti or quicksilver models it shows indiviualtiy in the range and is loveable in its own right. Mine has colour coded bumpers which i feel make the car look alot younger than it actually is (2001) and the sun roof is great on those summer evenings also i love the rear opening quarter windows which most new cars such as the corsa...

Peugeot 106 - Great for the ladies

Advantages: Economical, Small, Cheap insurance
Disadvantages: Handling is not great

...The compact 106 is definitely a car for the ladies. I got my red 106 Look+ 1.1 as my first car when I was 17. Although I have a new car now, 3 years on it had never let me down. ~:Body:~ The cute three door hatchback is satisfactory enough for anyone after a car that gets them from A to B. The bumpers aren't colour coded as they are in newer models and although the hubcaps are good, alloys would be better. But this is the reason it comes so cheap. ~:Price:~ The car was bought for me at £4,500 in 1999. It is an R reg so was nearly new. At present I am trying to sell it for £2,750 (anyone interested contact me) so unfortunately, this car decreases in value quickly. In terms of consumption, this car is very economical. I live in London and go to Uni in Loughborough (120 miles approx). I could get there and back on one tank...

Peugeot 106

Advantages: Small- so easy to park, good on fuel, cheap road tax and insurance
Disadvantages: Not very speedy, handling isn't to great

...I have been driving a V reg, 5 door peugeot 106 1.1 zest 2 for a couple of years now and it cost about £2500 from a garage. Starting with the positive points about the car. Firstly it is quite easy to park because its small. Secondly the insurance and tax are cheap for younger drivers because of the small engine size. Thirdly it has been reliable over the years and i have not had any major mechanical problems with it so far (fingers crossed). Also, i have been pretty impressed with the fuel consumption as it seems to not use and probably does about 40mpg. Despite it being a small car, i can still cram loads of stuff in it if i put the seats at the back down. Now for the not so good parts. The zest 2 model lacks power steering so can make your arms ache if manovering out or in a tight space and i wouldn't recommend this car...

Pug 106

Advantages: a good looking car with adaptable features and good fuel consumption!
Disadvantages: slow acceleration :(

...I have now owned my blue peugeot 106 1.1i XL Independence for over a year. It is the 1997 'R' reg model. As it was my first car i found it very easy and comfortable to drive and as a new driver i didn't mind how slow or how fast my car went, which is why i went for a 1.1 litre engine. I paid £1000 for it and it had 58,000miles on the clock and its exterior was perfect! (it was £1500 but i knew the person selling it!...always a bonus!) During my time owning this i have had some things go wrong, such as run down battery, snapped throttle cable, spare wheel bracket falling off, airbag light constantly flashing and some lights in the dashboard failing. Peugeot 106 1.1 independance

Advantages: cheap, nice to drive, fun, small on outside, economic, never rust, stylish
Disadvantages: small on inside, crap radio and speakers

...Brilliant small car, very 'nippy' the multi point injection engines introduced in 2000 are brilliant definately worth investing a bit more money in, models with this engine have much nicer interior and comefier seats too, peugeots have particularly good galvanised bodies too, when was the last time you saw a rusty one !? also the 1.1 is great on petrol, especially on motor ways, but like with all small engines it lacks mid range performance, probably worth getting a bigger engine if you are going to be on the motorway a lot, but probably also worth getting a bigger car. The 106 isnt really designed for motorways though and its best at what its designed for, nipping round towns, very reliable and had no problems with it although it was only 2 years old so i cant really comment by the paint next to one of the door locks id say it...

Disadvantages: Pretty Megre Performace, Saxo owners will laugh at you....

...reminiscent of those found in the old Panda, fairly comfy, but not very solid. The pedals however are a major bugbear, for three reasons, one, they are too close together, and my size 12's don't seem to get on with them, let alone anyone with bigger feet, they are too small, and the biggest nuisance, the accelerator pedal literally gets lost in the footwell! (Well, it seems to get wedged in the inner wheel arch mouldings, much like an old Citroen, it seems to be case of "where would be the most least practical place to put it." So, what's it like in the less than ideal back roads of the sticks of East Anglia? The little 106 copes exceedingly well, with the typical Peugeot firm handling, even this little "basic" car puts a smile on the face. The small 13" wheels cope well, and the torsion bar/trailing arm rear suspension...

Peugeot 106 Quiksilver

Advantages: Performance, Sporty Styling,
Disadvantages: Fuel Economy.

...I have recently bought a 106 Quiksilver and I am just so pleased I did!! I think the car looks great with its silver paint and sporty exterior. It looks sporty without making you look too much like a boy racer, which I really didn't want. The interior is nice, with electric windows and CD Player. The plastics are not as good as a VW Polo for example, but they are more than adequate. I have saved the best till last. The best part of the car is the performance. It really nips along and the handling is so much better than my old Ford Fiesta! My only real concern is the MPG, but I do drive quite fast so this would affect the economy!!! If you are thinking about buying a Quiksilver, then try to find an example with a Full Service History as you could easily buy one which has been driven hard. With added extras...

106 - Severely updated - Still no Tricks

Advantages: Majorly updated, more solid, better inside and out, still economical

...OK a bad title! I tried to make it rhyme! I have written an opinion on a 106 before, this went into the general Peugeot 106 category, it was a Mardi Gras, this new car we have is an independence as you can see. I will be talking about the car in general, and comparing it to the old 106 as well. I have driven this new car of ours for a couple of months now, and, dispite my initial reactions, I have now got used to it, as you do, and now I can only praise it! Now, this is a three door 106, the old one was a five door, and this makes such a difference. The new 106 has, bigger side doors to allow people to get in easier, and seems very big inside in comparison.
