206 D Turbo HDI
Advantages: Loads of mid range grunt, looks fab
Disadvantages: None
...I bought my car in March 2003 after waiting 6 weeks for it to be delievered, boy was the wait worth it. I ordered my car with leather interior, air con and sun roof, it looks smart, and it is the thinking man's GTI.
So far I've completed 2000 miles in mine. I find the seats very comfortable and secure - they do hold you in when you are taking corners at speed.
The main reason why I bought a 206 D Turbo was becasue of the fuel economy - I drive 90 miles everyday and I needed an econmical car after my 307 started a drink problem like Oliver Reed. I average about 45MPG when driving to and from work, strangley enough, fuel economey in city driving improves this figure to around 50MPG. The only giveaway that the car is a diesel is when it is idiling - not in terms of sheer noise, but the way the gear lever slightly vibrates, but once...

Peugeot 206 Sport 1.4 55Reg
Advantages: Stylish looks, stylish interior, nice alloys
Disadvantages: Instrument panel a bit too plastic
...I was forced into a purchase of another car as I had wrote off my previous one (Peugeot 106). As I had liked my old car I decided to get another Peugeot. Originally, I had wanted a second hand 307 but was lured by the free insurance and looks of the new 206 Sport.
I really like the look of the 206 Sport. The interior is very nice also, with the red and black trim. The one damper though, is the istrument panel with the stereo and air conditioning controls. It just looks out of place against the rest of the interior. It's as if they did a great job with the rest of the car and then suddenly they only had half an hour left to design the instrument panel!
It's also pretty cramped inside (I have the three door model) and I'm a short person. It is especially the case for the rear passengers where leg room is minimal. But as I am fairly...

Peugeot 206cc
Advantages: nippy and a convertalbe
Disadvantages: expensive parts and labour
...i'm not going to give the Specs you can get them of a website, this is what i think of the car.
I brought a peugoet 206cc last year for my girlfriend,so far its not been to bad to us
The 1.6 has some kick behind. i got 120mph out it with the roof up. the peugeot has a hard ride to it, the roof works well folding back in about 45 second, streering is quite responsive.
The rear seat are a waste of time unless your a child under 7, have had 5 adults in the car on the way home from casino but it is one of the most painful things to do in life.
The boot space is good with the roof up and there is some with the roof down.
Get a warranty its a must, parts for it are expensive, the roof hydrulic pump went on ours and would have cost us £3K to replace...

Peugeot 206 Look (AC) 3DR
Advantages: Nice looking Car - very nippy!
Disadvantages: Awful, awful, awful - would never buy again!
...I wanted a 206 after having two Peugeot 205s which were reliable and fantastic little runners - I thought the 206 would be the perfect upgrade.
I choose the Look - a special edition which gave extra features - Air Conditioning, metallic paint, CD player, dual airbags plus more. I also had ABS added on as an extra - which was a must for safety.
It is a lovely looking car and when working is a fantastic and nippy drive - I loved it - until things went wrong!
Day one - the indicator unit broke - apparently a common fault.
First month - leak in passengers footwell - more like a flood - again a common fault.
Leak in passengers foot well and under back seats - windscreen resealed.
Intermittent electrical faults - hard to prove - but the believed me eventually - faulty interior lights and headlights not turning on/off.
Coil...

Peugeot 307 Rapier 2.0HDi (90bhp)
Advantages: great looks, fuel economy and performance
Disadvantages: had lots of problems especially with the electrics
...I had this car from new but did not buy it myself as it was a company car and rented from Peugeot. It was a 52 (October 2002) registration and I had it the full 3 years of the lease and I was the main driver with my partner driving it occasionally. This review is based on the fact that I did 20,000 plus miles a year and quite a bit of motorway driving.
The car was:
5 door hatchback
90bhp
1997cc
4 cylinders
8 valves
Insurance group 6
Road tax band C
Manual transmission
I'll start with the good bits about it. ! I loved it's looks and colour - aegean blue. It was roomy and comfortable and the performance was superb as far as I'm concerned. It's supposed to do 111mph but I doubt it would but it would happily go along at 90mph - which, of course, I never tried! Very few similar spec cars used to pass it on the motorway...

PEUGEOT 206 1.4 - The Dark Secrets...
Advantages: Good-looking, good flexibility of back seats, user friendly dashboard.
Disadvantages: Safety is negotiable - brakes skid, 1st gear is weak
...PEUGEOT 206 1.4 FEVER 3dr PETROL (REG '04)
I was so surprised to see that on my first visit to the Peugeot section of Ciao, the reputation of the Peugeot 206 is so high. Maybe I'm the one unlucky owner of one, or maybe Peugeot have assigned their employees aliases with which to trail the web and sing the car's praises. I'm not going to slate the car, just describe my observations of the vehicle from my experience, so that hopefully, you would reconsider if you like.
I bought mine in June '04 from a Warwick Wright Dealership in London, with only 12.1 miles on the clock. New enough, so I was happy, as every car has test miles. Later on I would make my assumptions that maybe the Stig from Top Gear did my road test for me. The whole 'Fever' thing was promotional, just meant they beefed it up a little with fog lights, custom interior...

Practical Peugeot.
Advantages: Reliable, economic, practical.
Disadvantages: None
...A nice plain English op on a car.
I purchased my Peugeot 406Hdi rapier Saloon in December 2001. Only the second brand new car I had ever purchased. The first being a Peugeot 305 a few years ago.
That car had given me many trouble free miles so I thought I would stick with them. I suppose it?s a bit like the devil you know.
As a cab driver in London it had to be a diesel car. Economy is the Number one rule as saving money these days is so important.
There was a company in Scotland offering the best deal so I phoned, and arranged delivery.
A week later my shiny metallic China blue Peugeot 406 car arrived.
I like a largish car that?s comfortable. I like reliability and economy fuel consumption. Speed is not that important, I suppose functional is the best description.
The Peugeot 406 fitted my needs on description, but...

206 SW 2.0 HDi
Advantages: Fuel Economy, Handling, Good Looks
Disadvantages: Bland Gearbox, Minor Storage Problem
...I purchased a secondhand stationwagon (52 plate) from a dealer after weeks of searching. I must say that it's the best car i've ever had. The handling is excellent , you can feel the feedback straight away, and it's not deducted by being the estate version either. The car has remote central locking and an alarm, which isn't standard on all models, so check that yours has.
Performance:
The 2 litre diesel engine is another boon, lots of low down power and you wouldn't really believe the car only has 90bhp. Acceleration from standing is good and when the turbo kicks in it flies along. 0-60 is around 13 seconds and top speed 113 but it's between 35-80 where the car excels. If you thought that diesels were sluggish think again.
Diesel rattle is there at standstill but with the car moving, the noise is nothing that you wouldn't get in...

Peugeot 306 HDi Meridian
Advantages: Looks; Chassis; Reliability; Drivabilty
Disadvantages: Can be a bit heavy on front tyres
...I bought our 306 HDi for my wife. I wanted her to have a safe, reliable car, which is also easy for her to drive. I knew my wife liked the 306 (I used to own several as company cars) and the 306 Meridian is the best of the range.
In the 2 years we've owned it, I have had the car regulary serviced. Apart from new tyre and brake pads all round, the only non service item the car has required is a radiator as the coolant level was dropping very slightly. It only cost for £100 to renew the part, so this hardly broke the bank
Equipment levels are good. Electric windows, remote central locking, automatic wipers, air con, c.d. player, alloy wheels, 1/2 leather seats - everything that is needed in a car. I've upgraded the ICE to included a 10 stack CD player, which sits nicely in the boot.
To drive the car is a delight - I don't Peugeot...

Peugeot 307 HDI (90) GLX 2002
Advantages: Good Looking, Plenty of space in the front
Disadvantages: Poor quality interior, Poor engine performance
...Over the last few weeks we've been considering changing our main car from a 406 to a 307. The reason being we need the easier to use boot space of a hatchback.
As such, we went to test drive a Peugeot 307 HDI (90) GLX over the last weekend.
Having owned a 406 for a couple of years we expected to find the same good quality interior and engine performace as we were used to. However, the interior of the 307, despite being a reasonably high spec model was clearly inferior to that of the 406 and was badly worn even though this car had covered a similar mileage to our own.
The engine was equally disapointing and although being exactly the same as that in the 406 lacked any real acceleration and was very noisy for a modern diesel.
Seating space in the front was good and well laid out although the back was cramped for adults. Boot...
