Dealing with the highly provocative subject of homosexuality and AIDS, Philadelphia does an excellent job of disbanding many of the myths surrounding both of the subjects. Not only does Philadelphia tell a powerful story of injustice, it is also a beautifully shot film, which has many scenes which will tug at your heart strings. It also allowed Tom Hanks to demonstrate that he was more than capable of performing serious roles as he had previously been better known for his comedy roles. There were some critics who suggested that Hanks was not convincing as a homosexual, what did they expect a bloke wearing lipstick, lycra and high heals. Part of the beauty of the film was that it attempted to destroy society's stereotypes of how homosexuals looked and acted...

Eagle Eye - Chilling Take On Big Brother

Advantages: Tons of action, great story, brilliant acting.
Disadvantages: None

...to a building and panics when she sees that her son, who is on a train heading to Washington, is being filmed in real-time. When the voice on the cell phone tells Rachel that her son's train will be derailed unless she does exactly as she's told, Rachel does what any mother would do... she obeys the voice. Meanwhile, Jerry is allowed to make a call while in FBI custody, but instead of reaching his parents, his call is hijacked by the same woman who had called him on his cell phone, and she helps him escape. On the run, Jerry is forced to obey the woman who has become his worst nightmare, and that's when he and Rachel are thrown together... 'Eagle Eye' is a fascinating film... albeit a bit slow at the start. Give it a few minutes, and you'll be glad you did because it's going to take you on an amazing rollercoaster ride crammed...

...philadeplphia extra light was founded by a American milkman by back in 1872, which is a long time ago, I am really suprised the Kraft company make a time line story about this. I am sure most people are familiar with the kraft Philadelphia Television advert from a few years ago which I will not bother talking about in too great detail as it showed a beautiful female sitting down on a Sun Bed ouside on a warm summer's day looking to enjoy herself by eating the original version of Philadelphia spread. So here I am now reviewing kraft's extra Light Spread. I am thinking to myself, what would the Television advert look like now. This part of the opinion is where it shall end. Advantages: Taste great, ok for calories, great snack food

These are Thai Sweet Chilli, Chives, Cheesecake and Nachos. Philadelphia Splendips come in a container similar to Dairylea Dunkers except that they have three compartment rather than two. ...After having read Russel's second book about Jan Fabel, Brother Grimm, I wasn't overly keen on reading anything else by this author. I had enjoyed Brother Grimm in places but found it to be disappointing over all. However, somehow I still ended up with Blood Eagle in my hands. This is the first book in the series of Jan Fabel, Erster Kriminalhauptkommissar (Principal Chief Commissar) with the Hamburg Police murder squad. The book starts with an email from "Son of Sven" to Fabel which makes it clear that this Son of Sven character is a murderer and who is taunting Fabel personally with the notion that this is only the beginning and that he will not stop until he is made to do so. So far so run of the mill crime book. However, the plot quickly thickens as Fabel starts to investigate the brutal and apparently ritualistic murders...

Check Your Eagle Eye (and Brain) at the Door

Advantages: Good entertainment, decent performances, perfect brainless fun.
Disadvantages: Parts of the film stretch credibility. Disappointing ending.

In fact how many NZ films have you seen apart from Once Were Warriors? The Lord of the Rings trilogy doesn't count. Well the Eagle and the Shark is one you should see and very funny too. It's geeky in the that traditional Napoleon Dynamite sort of way, the laughs subtle and then not so subtle, a good giggle on offer at all those oddball characters from all the other movies in this genre you have seen. Fly Like an Eagle

Advantages: Slam bang actioner with a great cast
Disadvantages: Incomprehensible plot...slack direction...

...As MGM finished the 60s they watched their competitors scoring large hits, while all of their big budget releases faltered at the box office. 1968's 'Where Eagles Dare' hauled the studio up by it's jackboot straps and scored a massive hit all over the globe. Produced by the British production arm of MGM based at the now defunct Borehamwood Studios, Alistair Macleans original screenplay leapt onto the screen boasting an accomplished cast, a tonne of hardware, and locations and setpieces to set the hair on end. For all of the above though, 'Where Eagles Dare' is far from being a great film. Director Brian G Hutton, who would reteam with Eastwood and World War II for 'Kelly's Heroes', struggles with the epic length of the film, and fails to unravel the absurd complexities of Macleans screenplay.
