...I received the Philips 14PT 1556 for my birthday a couple of years ago, so I don?t know exactly how much my parents paid for it, but I believe you can pick one up for about £100. The TV itself has a 14 inch CRT colour screen, weighs 9kg, has mono sound output, an infrared remote control, and a one year warranty. This has proved more than adequate for the use in my bedroom, although because of the lack of stereo and small size I wouldn?t recommend using it as the primary TV in the house. The TV is modelled in metallic anthracite, has a modern curved design, with large functional buttons on the front. It can be tuned either automatically or manually using the supplied remote control or the buttons on the TV itself. Good picture just a shame about the sound

Advantages: cheap - good quality picture playback - large range of features - built in DVD
Disadvantages: poor audio quality

...When the time came to replace my aging TV in my bedroom the size of the room was an overriding factor, I couldn't have a large screen, nor a back that stretched for a foot backwards due to limited surface space. It has a bubble type look, very round and curvy! The tv has only four buttons on it- power and a menu accessor (3 buttons) on the front.   Self-hypnosis for beginners

...- The case of the TV is plastic. Plastic! It feels a bit tacky, although I suppose it's light to carry. The CRT itself is fine, as are the connectors and controls - it's just the surrounds that irritate. It's also worth noting that this is not the usually visible surround of the TV, but the rear section - the screen frame is much nicer :) * Unclear remote buttons - random symbols do not make me a happy boy! - Experiences I have really enjoyed using the Philips 14PT2666. I have a DVD player and a video, so while there's multi-connectivity issues, the TV is the simplest part of the setup. The picture is sharp, especially with high quality DVDs pumping through it, and the sound is superb. The TV itself allows you to tweak the sound to your liking, so that is fun. The ease of use of the TV has made for a headache-less viewing experience...

Philips 14 inches of pure joy!

Advantages: Relatively cheap, easy to set up / install, great pic and sound quality
Disadvantages: No individual sound control apart from vol

...Having just got rid of the old television I had to purchase a new one and ended up searching for endless hours on the internet and getting hopelessly confused and bogged down with information... Then out of the blue whilst searching on ebay for something entirely different I discovered this the Philips 14 inch television with an in built DVD/CD/MP3 player! It looked great and once i'd had a dabble at a bid and won I received it in the post a week later and was extremely impressed.... DESIGN: A silver stylish design allows you to easily install this unit on a wall bracket, which i have done and because there are not very many cables it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb! FEATURES: As I've said before it comes with an in built DVD/CD/MP3 player, as well as digital DVD picture quality and great quality sound with 2 on board...

Philips SoundMachine AZ102N - The Soundmaster!

Advantages: Good quality chassis, good sound quality, does everything for the price, looks nice.
Disadvantages: Inbuilt handle could have been better, silver version better than white -preference.

...I needed something to listen to while I worked at home, in the garden and in the office and I needed it quick. Paying a quick visit to my local Bennets I picked up the AZ102N, a CD/Radio by Dutch manfacturers Philips. Because I wanted something cheap and cheerful that would be subject to a few knocks I picked up Bennet's own brand £19.99 stereo which had unfortunately sold out, this was the next cheapest thing but I am glad I picked a reputable brand because it fulfills all of my needs as a radio and CD player. It was very well packaged with a power cable, instruction manual and cardboard packaging (very environmentally conscious there). The picture for this review is silver, mine is light blue and white which does not help with dust or grime. I feel the silver version would have hidden day to day scratches and dust better. Personal review of the Philips 42PFL7404H

Advantages: Slimmer and lighter than many LCD TVs of similar size.
Disadvantages: None come to mind.

Philips Arcitec Shaver

...Note: This is my boyfriends shaver - I wrote the review while he dictated. I don't need to use a shaver (...at least I think I don't...) I bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday as an upgrade to a previous Philips shaver. It was on offer in Boots at the time and I paid about £140 as well as generating some Boots loyalty points. ~~~~~~~ The Unit ~~~~~~~ At the time it was the 2nd from the top of the range - the top of the range was the nivea moisturise one. It also has an edge trimmer and the boyfriend does not bother with moisturiser (!) so this model is sufficient. The shaver is about 6 inches tall and about 2 inches wide so it fits in the palm of your hand. Philips Electric Shaver

Advantages: Built In Conditioner, quiet, stylish, effective
Disadvantages: Bit of a hassle to clean

...and colours. The feel of it is very comfortable on the hand and is easy to grip, due to slight ridges around the back of the shaver. This also makes it very comfortable and easy to hold, which i would say is one of the most important factors in something that is to be used daily. Also, obviously, it must be good at its job. Which this shaver is. It did a very good job, and was the closest shave i have ever had. I was previously using a gillette mach 3 razor and shaving foam. The Philips shaver eliminates the need for shaving foam, which i always found an annoyance. I think that the reason for the closeness is the fact that each of the heads vibrates/girates and moves independantly, meaning that they can move accordingly to each person's individual features. Moving around the jaw bone and cheek bones, means that it gets alot closer to the skin...
