...Season 5 of the award winning series 24, was first aired back in 2006 and was mostly known for its shocking and explosive first episode. When mini trailers of hour 1 went around sky, i tried to switch over every time but to no avail, i caught something and i was hooked in. Normally id prefer to watch the episodes on dvd so i can watch as many as i like but my girlfriend at the time had sky plus so she recorded the whole series. After getting through 9 hours of it we broke up, not anything to do with 24 don' worry, therefore i had seen nearly half of the series and then had to wait for the dvd release to continue watching. Only once have i done this, never again. Wait for the dvd, its worth it. Anyway, this season is one of my favourites as it doesnt hold back on the storylines and shock factor plus provides probably the best ending so...

24: Redemption

Advantages: Jack Bauer

...Before I start this review I just need to get one thing off my chest, Jack Bauer is my hero! I've watched every series of 24 so far and have loved each one (some more than others) so when I heard that there was going to be a 'film' I couldn't be more excited. 24 : Redemption is a bridge between the events of series six and series seven. The producers/writers felt that this was necessary to fill the huge gap between series due to the recent writers strike. 24 is normally set out in one hour episodes which are shown in 'real time', that is, one hour long episode represents one hour of the shows storyline. Its an interesting concept that really does work very well. I met the news of 24 : Redemption with interest, excitement, intrigue but also apprehension. How well would this idea work as a 'film'? ...This is a good value TV. It was very easy to set up as it automatically located & stored the 5 main channels which meant that it was watchable very quickly. However, I had to move the "VCR" channel as it overlapped with channel 5. this was a little complicated as Philips store channels by frequency rather than channel number (although there is a list of the correct settings in the manual), it would be easier if they had stuck to using the channel number (21-68). The picture is very sharp & clear. The colours are good. Having two SCARTs means that it is possible to plug in a VCR & one other accessory without having to keep switching the leads around. I like the way that it can identify the type of picture being sent to it and adjust the picture size accordingly. For example, if I have BBC1 on the Freeview box it usually...

24 - Season One

Advantages: Great acting, exciting, good effects
Disadvantages: Not really 24 hours! Slower paced than newer seasons

...I'd somehow managed to completely avoid watching a single episode of 24 right up to the current season (7). I'd seen the adverts but it was completely not my thing. I hate movies like that, and I hate TV shows along the same lines even more. For some reason I decided to give season 7 a go as so many people were looking forward to it coming back on - and, much to my annoyance, I got completely hooked and ended up buying all the boxsets so I could catch up. I ended up watching the entire set of season one in two days. It is completely, ridiculously, compulsive. About half way through every episode I would be fed up with having not moved in so long and would want to go and do something else, but then by the end of the episode my thoughts would change to, "Well...one more won't hurt." A fantastic Philips 26" flat widescreen tv

Advantages: great picture, looks great, loads of ports, good remote, more in review
Disadvantages: not many, menu can be a little hard to navigate

...General: I love this TV. Well actually i love most Philips products, i have so many Philips things in my house. This tv looks great. Its 26 inch widescreen with a wide sturdy silver base which allows the tv to tilt backwards slightly. I'm, not sure by how much though. I'd say around 30 degrees. The tv has a built in tv tuner which usually works fine except a couple of times if you turn the tv onto stand by with the digital turner on then when you turn the tv back on sometimes you will have to turn the tv off and back on at the wall as the freeview just goes fuzzy. But this has only happened once or twice and it may only be my tv. Picture/Resolution: The picture is excellent for normal tv and digital. Images are crystal clear and the colours are perfect, very bight and look so realistic. The high definition of the TV is also...

Philips 42" LCD TV

...I bought this TV 4 weeks ago now and find it to be a pretty decent TV. I would give the picture quality 9/10 for digital and terrestrial TV channels unfortunately though I have not had a chance to test the High Definition picture quality yet. I would also give the sound 9/10 the virtual surround sound works quite well. On receiving the TV the packaging was excellent it was a case of pull the tabs and remove the stand, wall mounting brackets, instructions, and remote control from the top also the quick setup guide. It took less than 5 minutes to build the stand then it was just a case of removing the 2 plastic clips from the box, sliding the box up over the TV, lifting the TV onto the stand "this takes at least 2 people" and putting 4 screws into place to hold the TV to the stand. All this was achieved with a Phillips screwdriver...

...Like most of the new reviews that are gonna be coming onto ciao at the moment i got this as a christmas present. Which was lucky, because i wasn\'t spending my christmas at home and forgot my razor. I used this shaver on christmas evening. After taking me about 15 minutes to get into the packet. It was one of thos stupid hard plastic cases, that takes a rocket scientist or a trained member of the S.A.S. to get into. But everything was displayed in the packet quite nicely. With the shaver, and Nivea conditoner displayed upright at the fron of the pack, and the plug/charger tucked around the back, out of display sight, but still visible. Obviously, easy to display in a shop this way, like most things, with the flat back and protuding front. As for the product itself, it looks very stylish with the silver and blue. Go Gear hits a flat note

Advantages: Lots of storage space, compact, can play mp3's and videos

...The Go Gear is Phillips response to the excellent ipod and the Sansa mp3 player. I was bought this mp3 player last year and am still undecided about this one. Firstly though it allows the standard fare of being playing mp3 files and WMA files but it also allows for video playback. It is nice to have this additional feature on the phone but it definitely comes secondary to the music. The screen seems a little but the options are presented in a concise fashion which allows for easy navigation of the various options available to you. The options include playing by artist/all/album.
