Megane 1.5dci Dynamique (80)

...I've owned a 1.5DCI Dynamique from new (2004) and have covered 63,000 miles. Had a couple of minor things fixed under warranty, door handle paint and steering column knock(?), despite not buying the car from a Main Dealer they honoured warranty repairs. Cheap Road Tax, Car Insurance, comfortable, lots of toys and economical. The only unusual fault was an intermittent STOP / OIL indication, which lasted a day or two - suspected wet electrics when the car was serviced by a non-Renault garage. At the time I was a bit unnerved by the complexity of the electronic systems, 7 units talking hooked up to diagnostics, but it settled down. That was 6,000 miles ago though. Interestingly the stalling of the rear wash wipe (common) is a s/w fault, in my case I didn't bother mentioning this until the STOP light problem, but it could have beenfixed...

...How do you write a useful opinion on a perfume for someone who?s never smelt it? The answer is you probably can?t, but I?ll try anyhow. Firstly and most important, if you?ve never tried Chanel No5, DO NOT BUY IT UNTIL YOU?VE TESTED IT. This may seem a bit pedantic but I?m only telling you so you don?t waste your money buying a perfume which, when worn, may not suit you. I love the smell of Coco in the bottle, but whenever I try to wear it, it smells like cat pee. That?s the thing with perfumes. They really do smell different on different people. Now, why should you buy, or even test No5? Because it?s classy. It has no specific age range (i.e. it?s not old woman?s perfume. You know which I mean.). I had a 1.4 Megane (2003) and loved it so when I got my new model I was really surprised at how much better it was. ...added angel eyes, 1.6 zetec bumper which makes it look alot better, k&n air filter in the engine makes it bit fast and better acceleration. Wheel arches are already done so no plastic arches to smooth in like corsa's. Plastic trim is easily removed just glued on. Third brake light say fiesta when braking. You can also get lexus style rear lights. etc Bad points: Fiestas main problems are rust which is not as bad in the mk5 as some of the old ones, i have some on the door seals and some small spots on body work which can easily be fix. Suspension, mine is ok at the moment, fingers crossed it stays tht way. Switch in boot sometimes doesn't work so light wont come on. I've delocked my car as you can get into some other fords with your key as i found out, when i got in the wrong car and thought where the baby seat come from....

...i bought a clio 1.5 dci 80 expression 5 door, i must say what a little car this is the engine the looks and the power it has for such a small engine is really good. i bought one with 40k on the clock with fsh and it runs like a dream no problems in the cold ever, it handles extremely well. i must say the rear seating room is not enough but it has a big boot so it kinda makes up for it. it has 60k on the clock now and still feels tight and firm every time i get ito the car u feel safe. i changed the stereo to a jvc head unit put some seat covers on the interior and looks the business now. was worth the money i spent only 5k for the car, but do need to be looked after as its a diesel, the turbo sounnds quiet good also with a whistle and a slight tttssss off the wastegate. all round good motor worth the money much recommended if...

...For the Summer I purchased a second hand MX5 1.8 Sports. It was 4 years old and had the matching hard top as well as the permanently fitted cloth soft top. I had done my home work and this was the one that every review was recommending. It is one of the limited edition Sports and as such comes with leather heated seats. First things first, off came the hard top and into storage until winter. The hard top was very simple to remove and the soft top just flips up and down. However neither my wife or I can pull the soft top up when sitting in the seats. One of us has to get out. Both the hard top and soft top have a heated rear window which is essential and in a two seater cabin. The fold up rear wind deflector is not that good so long hair still gets blown forward. Top Gear did an effective demonstration of the difference...

...I drive about 38,000 miles a year, and have always favoured diesel cars. I have owned new Citroens, but during the past 5 years have purchased used Peugeots. Image is not important. Reliability is a must, though, so I turned away from the Citroen with their hydraulic suspension (ok when new but in my experience troublesome after 50,000 miles) when seeking a used car capable of the mileages I cover. With Peugeot I have in general found maintenance to be straightforward, reliability is good, and economy is very good. I had two 205 diesels, both of which were very good. Then one day I saw a low mileage 106 Zest 3 diesel. When reviewing a car, the opinion will of course depend on the owner's experiences with the previous car. I can say that the 106 is better in every way than the 205. I have so far covered just 25000...
