Phillips CD445 Cordless Digital Phone
Advantages: Stylish, Good Answerphone and Great Price
Disadvantages: Poor Battery Life
...Good Phone for a great Price but very poor battery life
I like this phone very much and bought it for around £30. A great price for the selection of features you get in comparison to similar phones in the same price range.
Firstly I would recommend looking closely at the specs of any phones you get. For example some don't come with a backlit display so you could be left fumbling around in the dark if the phone goes during the night.
Luckily the Phillips CD445 has a nice blue backlit display. It was also very simple to setup and use within 10 mins. The instructions were great and proved a good reference guide for anything that I couldn't work out myself.
The answerphone is great and means I can screen all those annoying sales calls that you get during the day. A speakerphone option is also available for hands free calling...

Philips cordless answer phone for the home.
Advantages: Neat and easy to use
Disadvantages: None
...The old answer phone is dead; it has for some time been unreliable but a few days ago the last cassette tape was gobbled up by the machine, wrapping itself round the play heads. OK, I admit, it was a bit old fashioned. Now I have a lovely modern digital recorder with two handsets fit for the 21st century.
After doing some research on the internet I decided upon the Philips CD235 Duo digital phone with answering machine.
○◊○ A short history of Philips ○◊○
Philips as a company is more properly called Royal Philips Electronics and they are based in the Netherlands. The company was established in 1891 making carbon filament lamps. In 1927 they started producing radios and by 1932 had sold more than a million radios. In 1939 they launched the first Philips electric shaver and later in...

Philips CD 535
Advantages: Reputable brand, good solid build quality, excellent price
Disadvantages: Ringtones
...I bought this phone to replace a Panasonic dect phone which I've had for a few years.
It was on special offer in Comet and I paid £39.99 instead of £80.00. A 50% saving and a reputable brand too.
I've never had any Philips products before and I was very impressed at how well it was packaged. Even the batteries (2 x AAA) for each handset were boxed.
The phone was so easy to set-up. Everything is menu driven. It took a while to programme all my telephone numbers in. Thankfully there is a facility to copy them onto an additional handset so I only had to type them in once.
Sound quality on the phone is excellent and I can't fault it.
The handset is a good size and weight and the buttons on the handset are of a good size especially for somebody like me who has chunky fingers. The handsets illuminate in orange when picked up off...

Top banana phone
Advantages: Great range, fantastic sound, nice ringtones
Disadvantages: Not many really
...Hello everyone and welcome to this review!
In Tesco the other night and had a phone call, ?the house phone is not working, pickup a new one!?, great?. But what one? That?s when my mobile battery went and I was left to decide on my own. Off to the phone isle I went. We needed a cordless with an answering machine and a good battery life, I was getting somewhere!
There were around 50 phones on display and this Philips CD2551 caught my eye straight away, its lovely large size and modern looking base and a claimed 12 hours battery life, it was mine. Not forgetting it had an answering machine and a 100 person phonebook. How much did it cost? Only £29.99 for the single handset phone, there was also a set of 2 and 3.
What is a cordless phone?
***************************************
Well? It is simply a house phone...

A Home Phone with Funky Ring Tones!
Advantages: Easy to set up and use
Disadvantages: None
...Recently we have been haunted by our cordless home phones! Ringing once during the night with no caller, giving us the fright of our lives, cutting out during a call and crackling so we can't hear the other person talking! We decided we definitely needed to invest in a new set and what better time than the sales!
We searched around a few shops and online and felt the best deal we found was from Tesco. Reduced from £49.99 to £29.99 The Philips CD245 Duo Digital Cordless Phone Set was just what we were looking for.
The Packaging
The phones are packaged neatly in a cardboard box. Included in the box are the 2 phone handsets, the 2 phone bases, one of which includes an answer machine, 2 mains adapters, the cable to connect the main phone to the phone line and 4 rechargeable batteries, 2 for each handset. All items are well...

Philips Audio XQ
Advantages: Reliable, relatively cheap
Disadvantages: -
...I recently had to purchase a set of CD-R's to produce some CD's, for legal reasons I should point out!! So I brought a set of the 'XQ' version, along with the 'Q' version produced by Philips.
Made in Germany, the 'blurb' on the packaging states: 'For use with all Digital Audio CD-Recorders. Philips CD-R Q/XQ offer high quality, digital audio performance.'
But do they really offer high quality?? Well, the majority of the CDs were used to burn mp3's, so that would partly rely on the quality of the mp3's more than anything, although after listening to them via the CD, there were absolutely no apparently signs of the quality of the songs having faded after being placed on the CD.
Occasionally, I find that some CD-R's don't work when being written on, possibly because of the speed of my computer drive, but thankfully not one...

Philips PET 716
Advantages: High quality playback, doesn't just play DVDs, fairly cheap
Disadvantages: Short battery life.
...Bought this a while back and quite pleased with it. I would recommend shopping around if you want to buy this as there is a huge variety in price, I got it for around 50 pounds.
It can play alot more that DVDs, something that I was quite impressed with. You can play DVD, DVD+/-R and DVD+/-RW, VCD, DivX and MPEG4 movies. It is also capable of playing music and Plays MP3-CD, CD and CD-RW. However, I tend to use it more as a DVD player as there are much better, and smaller, devices for music.
The quality is quite good, and the player has an LCD display. The screen size is only 7" but considering you very rarely watch movies on it from more than a metre away from your face, that's not that bad. It also has a built in stereo speaker, which is actually really loud and clear, for when you don't want to use head phones.
One bad point I...

Philips Arcitec Shaver
Advantages: easy to clean, smooth shaving, docking bay
Disadvantages: doesnt hold most charge, compared to others, but good enough
...Note: This is my boyfriends shaver - I wrote the review while he dictated. I don't need to use a shaver (...at least I think I don't...)
I bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday as an upgrade to a previous Philips shaver. It was on offer in Boots at the time and I paid about £140 as well as generating some Boots loyalty points.
~~~~~~~
The Unit
~~~~~~~
At the time it was the 2nd from the top of the range - the top of the range was the nivea moisturise one. It also has an edge trimmer and the boyfriend does not bother with moisturiser (!) so this model is sufficient.
The shaver is about 6 inches tall and about 2 inches wide so it fits in the palm of your hand.
The control is an on/off button located in the handle at the front in the centre.
~~~~~~
Usage
~~~~~~
The shaver has an ultra slim and easy to use...

Philips Electric Shaver
Advantages: Built In Conditioner, quiet, stylish, effective
Disadvantages: Bit of a hassle to clean
...and colours. The feel of it is very comfortable on the hand and is easy to grip, due to slight ridges around the back of the shaver. This also makes it very comfortable and easy to hold, which i would say is one of the most important factors in something that is to be used daily. Also, obviously, it must be good at its job. Which this shaver is. It did a very good job, and was the closest shave i have ever had. I was previously using a gillette mach 3 razor and shaving foam. The Philips shaver eliminates the need for shaving foam, which i always found an annoyance.
I think that the reason for the closeness is the fact that each of the heads vibrates/girates and moves independantly, meaning that they can move accordingly to each person's individual features. Moving around the jaw bone and cheek bones, means that it gets alot closer to the skin...
