Philips Cool Skin Shaver HQ6707
Review of Philips HQ6707 by
Matthew1984Taylor
Advantages: Use in the shower
Disadvantages: Two Pin Plug on charger
...A really great shaver with super results. After recently leaving the Royal Navy I have been looking forward to using an electric shaver again and saying goodbye to my trusty Gillette Fusion.
The very first thing I noticed when I started using my old electric shaver again was the results between a wet and dry shave. Philips had the answer with the Cool Skin HQ6707.
A water proof electric shaver which you can use your favourite Nivea shaving gel with and even be used in the shower .
The shaver has three rotary heads which can move independently of each other. The face of the shaver also pivots to fit the contours of your face
This is the cheapest of the Cool Skin line of shavers, the other versions boasting a slightly longer battery life and faster charge time.
All the Cool Skin range have built in gel dispensers. The more...

OOH ITS A CLOSE SHAVE
Review of Philips HQ 7830 Quadra ACT. by
smudger1964
Advantages: close shave, quick to charge, doesnt leave rash
Disadvantages: none found so far
...I purchased my Phillips Quadra HQ7830 four months ago from Argos for £88.00 .I have owned Phillips shavers before but they have always tended to be the cheaper models, but this time decided to splash out a bit for one of the mid priced range.
Phillips shavers come in various guises and models from the most expensive "sensotec" range at £188 followed by the " cool skin" range with moisturising cartridges at £149. Next is the "quadra" one of the models I am reviewing.
Then comes the "super Reflex" a little cheaper at a max of £68 and lastly the cheaper end of the phillips range is the "micro action" which sell for a max of £49.
The HQ7830 is the rechargeable and mains model of the Quadra range sitting mid way between the £59 and £114 of the other models in the range.
I chose the rechargeable and mains model for the flexibility...

Philips HQ 7782 COOL SKIN
Review of Philips HQ 7782 COOL SKIN by
dwprices
Advantages: Nice and close
Disadvantages: Where to buy the sachets.
...Well I needed a new electric shaver, I do prefer wet shaving but with one thing and another it is not practical.
Been using a Remington shaver for a few years, it was ok, but needed new heads, and at nearly £30.00 I thought I would go looking for a new shaver.
I was taken by the Phillips Cool Skin range, which allow the user to use wet or dry, with the added bonus of a built in Moisturising shaving system.
I opted for the HQ7782 the top of the range coolskin shaver.
Its cordless with a charger base that plugs into your shaver socket in the bathroom. It has a handy LCD display to show how much battery is left and when to charge.
Its also easy to clean, after each shave wash it under the hot tap for about 30secs, and its clean, they recommend once a week to clean the heads off with the supplied brush.
The thing Iike best about...

Say goodbye to shaving foam
Review of Philips HQ7780 by
rallenhome
Advantages: ease of use, closeness, style
Disadvantages: Moustache trimmer
...The Philishave HQ7780 is the top of the range electric shaver and lives up to its reputation.
This is the first electric shaver that I've had and despite initial uncertainty, it really does shave as close as a razor! As the manual says, it does take a couple of shaves for your skin to get used to the shaver, but the 'Cool Skin' minimises irritation with the integral Nivea shaving lotion dispenser.
Possibly the best thing about the shaver is that its entirely waterproof and so you don't have to shower and shave separately. The next best thing is the aforementioned lotion dispenser that, with the touch of a button, lubricates the shaver so that it literally glides over your skin. The shaver is designed so that the head can flip open for extremely easy and thorough cleaning after every shave.
To recharge, the shaver just needs to sit...

HQ6707? Not the Philips with the Highest IQ!
Review of Philips HQ 6707 COOL SKIN by
TheChocolateLady
Advantages: Rechargable, Wet/dry shaver, cream dispenser, good shave
Disadvantages: Doesn't have battery indicator lights, long charging time
...My husband has very sensitive skin, and has never been able to use any blade razors because of this. In addition, he has a fairly tough beard, which only exacerbates the problem. He's always liked Phillips shavers, and over the years we must have bought him about eight different models. We were thrilled when they started producing rechargeable models, and when they came out with ones that dispensed cream with the shave, we thought we had reached shaver nirvana. For some time my husband enjoyed his Philips HQ5620, but when it started to die, I decided I should get him a new Philips for his birthday. The requirements we had were that the new shaver would dispense moisturizing cream with his shave, be rechargeable and be waterproof so he could clean it under the tap (or use in the shower, if he so wished). After looking at several...

Philips HQ6707 Wet / Dry Shaver
Review of Philips HQ6707 by
stehughes9
Advantages: Cheap, Top Quality, Durable
Disadvantages: None that come to mind. The 2 pin plug may annoy some but not me.
...I recently purchased this shaver on the back of the reviews it received here as I did not want to pay £75+.
I picked one up for £40 and have to say its been fantastic. It can be used wet or dry, provides a close and comfortable shave, and thanks to the cool gel system, the irriation that can come with electric shavers was no where to be seen. You get 2 gel packs and 2 moisturiser packs when purchased, personally I prefered to use the moisturiser but each to there own.
Once these have run out they are easy to purchase online (www.shavers.co.uk) and are with you within a couple of days which is fine.
The shavers has 3 rotory heads than move independantly allowing every part of your face to be shaved to the same level. So you're not left with any untidy tufts that can't be reached.
The Phillips HQ6707 is a plug in shaver and I...

Good compared to most, but still has its issues
Review of Philips HQ7760 by
ratpup
Advantages: Smoother shave than most, Nivea lotion does a good job
Disadvantages: Can leave a rash, habit of turning on in luggage
...I've had this Philips shaver for a couple of months now and have been generally happy. It shaves closer than most other electrics and the lotion dispenser does a good job of lubricating the shaver and also reducing the nasty rash that most suffer from.
That said, I've reverted onto razors again. Ths probably would have happened regardless of which electric shaver I had. However, it didn't help that the rash that my skin was getting from it was worse than that of other electrics I've had in the past. The Nivea lotion feature is definitely a useful one (it isn't just a fancy novelty), but I've just found that it was better for me to use razors again.
So, if your skin isn't too sensitive, you probably won't go far wrong with this shaver. It just depends if the extra cost of it versus others is worth it....

Taking it on the chin
Review of Philips HQ 6762 COOL SKIN by
foxprorawks
Advantages: kind even to my sensitive skin
Disadvantages: none
...I've always had a problem with shaving rash. I've tried various electric shavers, shaving oil, disposable razors etc. but I always ended up looking as if I'd had a close encounter with a vampire. I guess I have sensitive skin. I have been known to have a beard to get around this problem.
However, a year ago I treated myself to a new electric shaver - the Philishave Cool Skin - a rechargeable electric shaver which offered something I'd never seen before.
This shaver comes in a host of models, so you have to be quite careful when buying. This particular model is more expensive than some of the others, but that is because it can be fully charged in 1 hour, whereas the cheaper models take 8 hours to charge. The recharging unit is built into the shaver - it isn't in the form of removable rechargeable batteries.
The feature which I...

An excellent shaver and worth the money
Review of Philips HQ 7782 COOL SKIN by
charmstrong
Advantages: Quick charging (less than an hour to fully charged), close shave (almost as close as a wet shave) and Waterproof (I actually found it helpfull and more comfortable to shave in the shower)
Disadvantages: It's not the cheapest electric shaver out there and the sachets of gel/mosturiser can be expensive in the long term.
...I'm in a difficult position, as I struggle with wet shaving. It brings me out in a rash and even looking at a razor blade tends to make my neck bleed.
At the same time, electric shavers are (or at least have been) a real chore as I tend to leave it a few days and end up with two or three days growth at a time. In the past, my electric shaver wouldn't hold enough charge to finish the job and didn't give a particulary good shave.
For this reason I have spent years flitting between wet and dry shaving and not being really happy with either result. Well, this was until I came across an advert for this Cool Skin. It's an expensive piece of kit and I hmm'd and haa'd before purchasing via Amazon - the cheapest price i've seen on-line (they're about the £150 in Boots).
I am so glad I decided to make this purchase in the end.
The batter life...
