...Well I needed a new electric shaver, I do prefer wet shaving but with one thing and another it is not practical. Been using a Remington shaver for a few years, it was ok, but needed new heads, and at nearly £30.00 I thought I would go looking for a new shaver. I was taken by the Phillips Cool Skin range, which allow the user to use wet or dry, with the added bonus of a built in Moisturising shaving system. I opted for the HQ7782 the top of the range coolskin shaver. Its cordless with a charger base that plugs into your shaver socket in the bathroom. It has a handy LCD display to show how much battery is left and when to charge. Advantages: Convenience, comfort
Disadvantages: Still difficult to get as close as a wet shave but comes a VERY close second

...First things first, this is simply the best electric razor I have ever used. But how does this compare to other models on the market and would it convert the "wet" shaver. I myself have owned electric razors previously, mainly for the convenience factor but often felt let down by the quality of the shave and the discomfort of almost tearing at the skin. The PhilipsMoisture Razor is extremely comfortable as it dispenses moisturising gel as you shave. This elinminates the need for shaving gel/cream and means it can be used in the shower - a great time saver. Minor negative points are I felt itquite difficult to get a close shave around the neck area. Also there have been issues in being able to but replacement gel for the system which makes it redundant. ...My husband has very sensitive skin, and has never been able to use any blade razors because of this. In addition, he has a fairly tough beard, which only exacerbates the problem. He's always liked Phillips shavers, and over the years we must have bought him about eight different models. We were thrilled when they started producing rechargeable models, and when they came out with ones that dispensed cream with the shave, we thought we had reached shaver nirvana. For some time my husband enjoyed his Philips HQ5620, but when it started to die, I decided I should get him a new Philips for his birthday. Advantages: Built In Conditioner, quiet, stylish, effective
Disadvantages: Bit of a hassle to clean

...and colours. The feel of it is very comfortable on the hand and is easy to grip, due to slight ridges around the back of the shaver. This also makes it very comfortable and easy to hold, which i would say is one of the most important factors in something that is to be used daily. Also, obviously, it must be good at its job. Which this shaver is. It did a very good job, and was the closest shave i have ever had. I was previously using a gillette mach 3 razor and shaving foam. The Philips shaver eliminates the need for shaving foam, which i always found an annoyance. I think that the reason for the closeness is the fact that each of the heads vibrates/girates and moves independantly, meaning that they can move accordingly to each person's individual features. ...I have fairly sensitive skin and up until now I have always used a wet shave razor. Wet razors didn't leave my skin burning, but they did leave the skin feeling very exposed and would cause it to dry out. Since I'd read that electric razors were good in countering this, I decided to give one a go: I went for this one because it was half price in Boots at the time and because I trust the Philips brand. I also liked that it was very easy to clean: you just have to run it under a tap, whereas other razors are a bit more tricky. It also looks quite sporty and can be used in the shower as it's completely waterproof. The first use was brilliant. It was clean and so much closer than I imagined it would be. It almost felt closer than a wet shave. Subsequent shaves have slowed down a bit and I find that I have to keep going over the same areas... Read review

...The key feature that made me buy this razor is the ability to use it in the shower or tub, great for reducing getting ready time in the morning. I've found the shave to be very close and the flexible heads are the best i've seen on a razor. Blessed with a chin inherited from father that curves in very rapidly under my lip I've found that razors require quite a few passes to get a good shave in this area and can often nick myself here. The 8060 has no problems as the heads seem to flex around 45'. The Nivea dispensing system does seem a little gimmicky at first but after trying a few shaves with and without it I think does help reduce my skin irritation and use it all the time now. It has a mild scent though I'm not too keen on the smell my wife thinks its great. It offers a 1.5 hour charge for 40 minutes of charging with a quick... Read review

...I've always split my shaving between a traditional wet shave(when i want a real close shave) and a philips electric razor(when i'm pushed for time and just need to look reasonably smart. The old style Philips 'phileshave' system was easilly the closest electric shave around but still a long way from a wet shave. After over 30 years with a moustache and short beard i recently decided to go clean shaven again which meant more and more involved wet shaves and more 'top up' electric shaves. My old philips shaver was clearly not up to the job and after so many years with a beard I found my skin very sensitive,espically on my upper lip. ...I got this for my birthday not long ago. It is a new shaver by philips that works in combination with nivea for men shaving conditioner. With the shaver you recieve a botle of the conditioner, a stand charger, a fine trimmer attatchment for sideburns and the like, a soft carrycase, a cover and a small brush to keep it clean! This shaver has a section in the back that carries the nivea moisturiser, during shaving you can press a button to release some of this moisturiser out of the heads ontop of the shaver. This means you have an easier shave perfect for sensitive skin. Sometimes electric shavers can pull the hairs out of your skin and you are left with a rash and spots.
