Advantages: Compact, great sound quality
Disadvantages: You need a PC
...XP as your operating system then you don't even need "drivers" (special files which tell the computer how to communicate with the MP3 player) - just plug it in and away you go.
Older operating systems (Windows 98 or earlier) will need you to install the drivers first but the Philips MP3 player supplies these on disc.
