Philips HD4682 Cucina

Advantages: Fast Boiling Kettle
Disadvantages: Short Power Cable
...I recently bought this kettle at Comet for £24.99. It has a maximum capacity of 1.7L and has levels clearly indicated up the side. It is a cordless kettle which sits neatly on top of the power source. The element is fully concealed within the inside base of the kettle. One point which may be seen from the diagram is that the kettle is a white thick plastic but then with a more transparent plastc rim round the handle and spout which I think looks a bit cheap. On the plus there is a metallic water filter inside the kettle which can be replaced however, I removed it as it made the water taste strange therefore ruined my tea! An imortant downside is the short power cable - meaning the kettle has to be positioned quite near the socket. An important advantage is that at 3000 watts it boils water very quickly....

Philips stainless steel traditional shape kettle
Review of Philips HD4601(F) by
angelwild
Advantages: Looks great and is cordless.
Disadvantages: Can be heavy when full.
...I would just like to add once the kettle is full with water it is very heavy, People with wrist problems could not take the weight.
But as the base contains a flat concealed element it allows it to bboil with very little water in. This is good for the environment as it reduces the amount of energy required to boil a cup of water.
It does take longer to boil than a more modern kettle but the looks of the kettle compliment any kitchen.
Stainless steel cleaner seems the best product to use to keep the kettle clean and sparkling. Limescale marks the kettle quite easily. If living in a soft water area this is less of a problem.
I thoroughly recommend this kettle check ebay for the best prices or possibly amazon....

PHILIPS FILTERLINE FOR STEAMY STYLE
Review of Philips HD4601(F) by
anneyo
Advantages: Can boil small quantities, ease of use and good looks.
Disadvantages: none
...Sleek, slightly ‘retro’ styling and stainless good looks attracted me to this particular kettle. The fact that it is cordless and easy to use was an added bonus.
Unlike some cordless kettles, where you have to boil a fair amount of water to cover the element, the Phillips Filterline HD4601 has an element which is almost flush with the bottom of the kettle, meaning you can boil quite small amounts. This is important for several reasons; economy of use, speed and weight. The weight factor is important to me because I have trouble with my wrists and find lifting heavy items can be troublesome.
Another really useful, and extremely stylish, aspect of this kettle is the handle. It is of a slightly textured, black synthetic material and is a wonderfully rounded shape. It is also big enough to hold with both hands which...

Been good to me!
Review of Philips HD4601(F) by
traceyhand
Advantages: long lasting, washable filter
Disadvantages: none
...I bought this kettle nearly 7 years ago and it is still going strong!
It is a cordless one and so it makes it really easy to pour from without getting tangled in flex, and it has a filter which is an essential extra when you live in a hard water area like Lincolnshire.
I have never had any trouble with it and I am only on my second filter, having had to buy a replacement one beacue I accidentally tore the first while vigorously cleaning the scale from it. My fault, not Philips!!
I strongly recommend this kettle as it is pretty much as good as they get and only costs about £30....

Better than my old boiler!!
Review of Philips HD4628 by
ladyboymondaytofriday
Advantages: boils water quickly - holds 1.7 litres of water - has auto switch off
Disadvantages: looks cheap
...When I moved into my own place I only had a cheap and nasty kettle roughly around the same age as myself that was kindly passed down to me by my grandfather and the time came when it packed up and refused to do anything but sit on the work surface and look scummy and completely out of place. When deciding on a replacement it was a choice between a flash futuristic looking device that would cost the Earth or a cheap - gets the job done number and I opted for the latter with money being tight.
I bought the Philips HD4628 from Amazon using an online voucher from another review site adding the difference making the total cost including postage and shipping £27.94.
Available in 3 colours I opted for the plain white. Looking up will show you what the kettle looks like and to be honest there is nothing super duper about the kettle - it looks...

Philips Jug Kettle
Review of Philips HD4662 by
thespurs
Advantages: Looks great, good price, made by Philips
Disadvantages: Does get some limescale build-up
...of build-up. The kettle is cordless and is placed backed on the base unit which is connected to the mains to heat up the water. Once the water reaches boiling point the power is automatically cut. The water does heat up relatively quickly and when it is around half full it is at its most efficient.
---Durability---
This is a very durable kettle, we have had it for a couple of years now. It still looks as good as it was when we purchased it and it remains it's fully working order. We haven't had to make any repairs of any description and it has never not worked properly. I think this a mark of the quality of all Phillips products and it shows that they are extremely efficient and reliable. The actual casing and material that forms the kettle is very strong and hard wearing, you do tend to knock kettles around more than most appliances. When...

life with my kettle
Review of Philips Essence HD4650 by
jackson27
Advantages: great contemporary design
Disadvantages: none
...This kettle certainly does the job and looks stylish and contemporary. We bought it nearly a year ago now and haven't had any trouble with it so far.
It has a good capacity, making about seven mugs of tea when it is filled to the max. line. There is no unnecessary fussiness in its design which makes the exterior easy to keep clean - no grooves for dirt or hard water to collect and no fiddly bits of plastic waiting to be snapped off!
The handle feels solid to hold and it pours well without dribbling. It has an interior filter which is easy to remove for cleaning (a little more tricky to get back in - but manageable), but you do need to remember to do it. We have been a bit lazy and I've noticed our filter is building up limescale now to the point that it is hard to get off. We do live in a hard water area though.
The kettle has a really...

Philips HD4666/20 Brushed Stainless Steel Kettle
Review of Philips HD4666/20 Stainless Steel by
findlesuk
Advantages: Great looking fast boiler & reasonable cost
Disadvantages: Noisy!
...Every 24 to 30 months I have to replace my kettle, why I know not but they only seem to last a month longer than the warranty! With this in mind one of my priorities is that I dont over spend knowing it will be replaced within 2 years or so.
Had to be brushed stainless steel to fit my decor & it makes it easier to keep looking new as opposed to shiny S/Steel!
Efficient in boiling & easy to refill & clean as I have teenagers who are reluctant to do any of these! Also a safety feature to prevent boiling dry a common mis-use by said teens.
Those were MY specs.......................my parents had just bought one of these & are usually good in their research & value for money , they did tell me it is noisy............I went ahead & bought one & am very pleased with its performance but as always parents are right & it is noisy! but I accept...

Fancy a cuppa?
Review of Philips HD4666/20 Stainless Steel by
kitty1801
Advantages: Quick boil, Large capacity, Looks good, Not too expensive
Disadvantages: Metal casing can get a bit hot
...We recently got a new kitchen installed and as soon as it was, all our old applianes looked really old and tired so we decided to get nice shiny new ones for our nice shiny new kitchen.
After buying a fridge freezer and washing machine, we went to ASDA one evening to look at their smaller kitchen appliances and spotted this kettle. It is brushed stainless steel so won't go grubby looking with fingermarks and was simple yet stylish. Also, with a brand like Philips I expected quality that would last.
We purchased it there and then for £25.47 and it came with a one year warranty. When we took it home to try it out we were pleasantly surprised. The kettle holds 1.7 Litres so more than enough to make teas/coffees when you have guests. The kettle also boils really quickly - when full it takes 3 minutes 58 seconds to boil and this gives you...

Not your average kettle
Review of Philips HD4603 by
miggmoggspud
Advantages: It looks gorgeous
Disadvantages: Might not look right in a more traditional kitchen
...A few years ago our cheapo plastic kettle was starting to look disgusting on the inside and no amount of descaling seemed to be making a difference. Always a one for convenience I picked up the Argos catalogue and had a flick through, fully expecting to find another cheapo kettle but then I had to stop....... gleaming up at me from the pages of the catalogue was this wonderful product from Philips - a shiny chrome "cube" kettle. Never mind the price, I just had to have it. I didn't care that it was 3100 watts, that it has a concealed element to stop it from scaling or a removable washable filter. I didn't even care that it cost a whopping £45 - eeek! It just looked so gorgeous I had to buy one.
Off we popped to Argos and paid our money. Was it worth it I hear you ask? Do I love it?
The answer is yes, it's worth every penny...
