Philips Senseo Coffee Maker - a coffee lovers heaven

...when my dear husband walked in with a little present for me ( bless him!!) - a Phillips Senseo coffee maker. It didn't take long for me to realise that my search was over and I had found the coffee machine of my dreams. A coffee machine that looks good, is incredibly easy to use, very easy to clean and most important makes a perfect cup of coffee every time at the touch of a button. Six years on my senseo is still going strong ( and believe me it is VERY well used), my only problem was when I dropped the water reservoir on the stone floor and broke it. I was able to get a replacement from Phillips for £10 and I just about managed to get through the week it took to arrive without my Senseo coffee. The Senseo coffee machine is made by Phillips with an input from the coffee makers, Douwe Egberts. There are four varieties...

Senseo Coffee Maker

...My husband bought me the Senseo coffee maker for a Christmas present 2006, I must say it was one of the best things he has ever bought me.I love my coffee and have used it most days and more than once a day since. It is still going strong! The Senseo doesn't have all the fancy bits to it that other coffee machines do, but it makes a nice cup of coffee and is very easy to use. The coffee comes out hot, but not boiling (my mum was never impressed with it when she came over as she likes her coffees scolding). I have occasionally had trouble with leaks, but not very often. All in all, I like it. Its a good price and makes nice coffee, itt is also easy to clean, which is another bonus for me. Great Coffee Maker

Advantages: Good Coffee, Stylish, Very Easy to Use

...We won tickets to the BBC Good Homes exhibition at the NEC in May, we ended up buying a Staffordshire Garden Furniture Pagoda and a Phillips Senseo Coffee Maker. Unlike the Pagoda we took the coffee maker home! My wife is the coffee lover - I personally do not like coffee at all. We got it for the show price with free coffee pods and mugs for £40. It is blue and stylish and just over 1 foot high. It uses coffee pods rather than granuals, these if you like are coffee bags. Usage is very easy, the pods go in a holder under the lid, the reservoir at the back holds enough water for 5 or 6 cups. Normal usage is wait to boil with the correct pods, put the cups under the spout and press the correct button for the number of pods (one pod button and a two pod button) To make a mug of coffee my wife uses 1 decaf. pod...

...After themadcabbie, I am possibly Ciao?s biggest caffeine addict. (This may come as a surprise to petersmyth1 and one or two others, who believe I am permanently inebriated.) In the long, dark winter evenings, I appear more regularly on here than I do at present (in these balmy (!) summer days). And on those dreich nights I always load up the coffee maker before I log on. It takes less time to brew than I take to establish a reliable connection. Which of course is saying very little, given my well-documented love-hate relationship with BT Surftime. Whatever. ...I love good coffee. I don't drink any kind of coffee just to get my daily caffeine dose. A good coffee can be made of good raw material which for me is 100% arabica coffee beans (I prefer freshly ground coffee) and the other important factor is the coffee maker. I don't like coffee makers that work with filter. Coffee is not a kind of tee, it needs special machine. At Saeco engineers know how a good coffee is. I have this kind of coffee maker at my work place (ours at home is very similar, but other brand for financial reasons). I use it to prepare coffee for my bosses and their guests. I receive so many compliments for my coffee, you can't imagine. I could make a decision on what coffee maker to buy. I didn't hesitated much as I heard a lot about Saeco's premium coffee makers. So I choose Saeco Vienna. I won't waste your time...

Philips also have their own website www.philips.com which I should imagine features all their products but am sure will have a spot for their coffee maker should you feel the need to explore further. The Alpha and Omega of All Coffee-Makers

Advantages: Great lattes and easy automatic cleaning function. Adjusts to almost any cup height.
Disadvantages: Expensive and parts get stuck sometimes.

...The Philips HD 7850/60/61 Senseo Latte Select B is a good addition to the kitchen, provided you really love lattes. It is quite stylish and black, which is a plus in my opinion, and it's also pretty small, so it fits in my tiny kitchen. It's by far the most chic coffee-maker I've ever come across and it has a few add-ons which make it very easy to operate. It filters coffee very quickly ( 30 seconds) and it has and automatic turn off, both of which are handy if you need to run out the door. Actually, in my opinion, quick is the only way to go when you want coffee, because you are usually drinking it in the mornings before work. It makes a wonderful latte in my opinion, but I've found the capuccinos and latte machiato to be tasty as well/ It will also make cafe lattes and just plain old coffee. The add-ons I mentioned...

...I love my coffee machine but it is expensive. I bought mine new from Argos. It came with two free packs of coffee and cost £105.99. Operating is a really easy, you shove the little container in the top, close, fill with water, press button and hello lovely cuppa coffee! The only problem I have found is that nowhere does the inserts! I've got to drive to another supermarket which I wouldn't normally use to pick up the inserts which is a pain and a cost in petrol They are fairly expensive as well. It would cost you about £6 for 20 cups of coffee, which compared to normal coffee is really expensive. If you opt for the latte inserts, you only get 10, because 10 of the inserts are condensed milk! Talk about rip off. What a waste of money. I would recommend this to people who love coffee and don't have a baby because...
