Philips MCM 204

Advantages: Looks great, small size, USB port for direct play from MP3 player
Disadvantages: intermittent fault, customer service not great

...one of these cds the stereo does not seem to be able to 'read' it and it comes up with 'no disc'. However, I often find that if I take it out and put it back in again it works- I have no yet found a disc that wouldn't play, although it can be irritating taking it out and putting it back in. I have contacted the Philips support centre over the telephone but did not find the staff very helpful and they suggested that I had done something wrong with the CDs! I has only attempted to play pre-recorded cds on this machine before, so it has only been brought to my attention recently. I am currently attempting to locate the receipt in order to see if I can get this looked at- if I so I would happily accept the same model again. Other from this minor inadequacy I could not find any fault with the stereo and would happily recommend it to...

Not a fault with this Stereo

Advantages: nice looking, reads mp3s, easy to set and to use
Disadvantages: none really

...This Hi-Fi Stereo by Philips is both nice looking and good quality. I'm not a real expert of Hi-Fi honestly but I've had a few and this little fella indeed does its job. It comes with a small simple remote control, radio antenna, all the needed wires. The CD player on top includes MP3 decoder, a tape recorder is on the front of the stereo (hardly needed nowadays but you might be surprised how often you end up using it in the end). The instructions were almost unnecessary because it's very very easy to set it up. The colours (orangy-yellow and steel) are a weird combination but seems to work and matches easily with most of my forniture. The orange screen is not the best (it becomes hard to see if the sun is directly on it) but it's not horrible either. This stereo is usually sold at good prices and I would say it's well worth it, I haven...

Perfect Philips for a Perfect Price

Advantages: Very Affordable, excellent features, very stylish
Disadvantages: Radio quality could be better

...Bought this Philips hi-fi off of ebay for a mere £30, brand spanking new and including delivery! I can only sum it up in 1 word.....Excellent! Sound quality is next to nothing, I would have expected to pay something in the hundreds for something of that quality. It is very hi tech, has the usually CD player, tape player, radio, however it also contains a USB port, superb for connecting up your MP3 player, or your flash drive and it also comes with a AUX input, so if your MP3 player isnt compatible with the system you can plug it in through the AUX cable, however the downside to this would be you cannot change tunes with the included remote control. It looks very neat and modern, would fit into many styles of rooms, and its wood finish on the speakers is not cheap and nasty, and looks very stylish. I did find there was a few downsides...

All join in with the Chorus: UC200 stereo pedal from Behringer.

Advantages: Great Value for money, Solidly built,
Disadvantages: battery access is a bit fiddly

...Oh my God, I here you say, not another effects pedal review. Don't worry, there's only one more to go in my collection. As with the other pedals this one has a solid plastic moulding with a slightly awkward to open battery compartment, accessed by pushing in the pedal hinge pins and lifting it off. Much better to use an external power supply, it saves money and broken fingernails. So what does a Chorus pedal do? Well it sits in the line between the guitar and amplifier and alters the signal. Basically it is a modulating effect which adds a slight highlight and a lowlight, to create a softened, even slightly ethereal tone to the sound. There are four controls that allow you to adjust the effect, Level, Tone, Rate and Depth, an input jack and two outputs so that you can use two amplifiers to create stereo effects. The controls...

Get Connected to the STEREO MC's

Advantages: Good catchy tunes
Disadvantages: I can't find the disc

...I have liked the stereo Mc's for about a decade and had the album, but unfortunately due to my constant moving it got mislaid or lent out and forgotten. Anyhow I was recently asked if I would like a new album, after much deliberation I choose Connected. ***Band Members*** Rob, The Head, Owen If, Cath Coffey, Verona Davis and Andrea Groves. ***Front sleeve and inlay*** The front cover depicts the 6 band members on a stary, stormy night with the moon shining brightly behind them, with the earth looking like it should be the moon. The forground is a wild collection of plants, trees, flowers, mushrooms, a volcano and a snake The inlay has the lyrics to all 12 songs with white letters on a black background. ***Back Sleeve*** A black background with the playlist written on it in white, nice and simple ***Playlist...

Philips Electric Shaver

Advantages: Built In Conditioner, quiet, stylish, effective
Disadvantages: Bit of a hassle to clean

...and colours. The feel of it is very comfortable on the hand and is easy to grip, due to slight ridges around the back of the shaver. This also makes it very comfortable and easy to hold, which i would say is one of the most important factors in something that is to be used daily. Also, obviously, it must be good at its job. Which this shaver is. It did a very good job, and was the closest shave i have ever had. I was previously using a gillette mach 3 razor and shaving foam. The Philips shaver eliminates the need for shaving foam, which i always found an annoyance. I think that the reason for the closeness is the fact that each of the heads vibrates/girates and moves independantly, meaning that they can move accordingly to each person's individual features. Moving around the jaw bone and cheek bones, means that it gets alot closer to the skin...

Philips SoundMachine AZ102N - The Soundmaster!

Advantages: Good quality chassis, good sound quality, does everything for the price, looks nice.
Disadvantages: Inbuilt handle could have been better, silver version better than white -preference.

...regretted this later. I do not own anything from Philips but believe this was a good purchase and I am sure it will last. Overall an excellent CD/Radio stereo and would recommend it to anyone to is looking for a stereo for the kitchen, bedroom or office. While it is basic it does what it is told without any argument. Thumbs up!...

Personal review of the Philips 42PFL7404H

Advantages: Slimmer and lighter than many LCD TVs of similar size.
Disadvantages: None come to mind.

...This is an excellent example of Philips ingenuity. If you are about to consider changing to a larger screen size, then this 42' screen is well worth a closer look. It has a superb contrast ratio, which really improves the definition of the darkest and lightest images and displays striking colours that are lifelike and vibrant. The ease of installation is also a great benefit, whereby most settings can be achieved through a simple automatic process. Should you also be thinking of wall mounting this receiver, then you will be pleased to know that this particular model is thinner than many TV's currently available and also a lot lighter. The remote control has been well thought out with a special home button, which enables easy selection of external devices, like satellite boxes, digital receivers, DVD players and recorders or PC...

Philips Arcitec Shaver

Advantages: easy to clean, smooth shaving, docking bay
Disadvantages: doesnt hold most charge, compared to others, but good enough

...Note: This is my boyfriends shaver - I wrote the review while he dictated. I don't need to use a shaver (...at least I think I don't...) I bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday as an upgrade to a previous Philips shaver. It was on offer in Boots at the time and I paid about £140 as well as generating some Boots loyalty points. ~~~~~~~ The Unit ~~~~~~~ At the time it was the 2nd from the top of the range - the top of the range was the nivea moisturise one. It also has an edge trimmer and the boyfriend does not bother with moisturiser (!) so this model is sufficient. The shaver is about 6 inches tall and about 2 inches wide so it fits in the palm of your hand. The control is an on/off button located in the handle at the front in the centre. ~~~~~~ Usage ~~~~~~ The shaver has an ultra slim and easy to use...

Philips Arcitec - Helping you to value your face

Advantages: Good qulaity of Shave
Disadvantages: Slightly Higher Price

... Philips Arcitec This one is one of the finest product of Philips in Electric Shavers. A lot of marketing in support of this product with a high price of about 160 to 250 GBP is not just a hype but true. It is actually a great product and thus its price should not stop it to capture the market. Quality of Shave The Quality of the Shaver is always determined from its ability to remove hairs. My shave has always been a challenge for the shavers and this one proved to be a good performer in dealing with it. It is capable of removing the hairs from the remotest areas of your face and the ones whic are indeed left out by normal cheap shavers. Going some details, it was able to shave off the hairs from my neck and on the side skins that cover my lip which in normal conditions would leave side burns. Its always difficult to...
