Appearance The DVD player is very compact and attractive. It has a white outer shell and a black interior fascia. There is a flip up drawer on the bottom half where you put the DVDs in, which is opened by sliding the button on the front panel. It is smart and modern enough to be confident to use it on the train or in public generally. Price I paid £70.00 for the player a few months ago, but I strongly advise other to shop around as I understand it can not be bought for around £50.00. It is well worth either price in my opinion. Advantages: The look. The portability. The games. The films. The accessories. Pretty much the whole package.
Disadvantages: Not out in the UK yet!!!! Battery life. Loading times

...it. Forget the Nintendo DS, Gizmondo or Nokia N-Gage -they are all truly abysmal compared to the Sony PSP. What's more - is that the Sony PSP is in early development stage - so it's only going to get better and better and better. Also - the sound is a real surpise. Even the stereo speakers sound OK, but when you plug in the headphones, you really notice a huge difference. The sound quality whilst not cinema like - is still very very good, and amazing considering it's coming out of a handheld device. Gaming on the PSP is just like gaming on the Playstation. The only thing that might aggravate some people are the loading times , but to be honest the wait is well worth it, so I'm not too bothered about it! For gaming - I can envisage the PSP destroying the competition - because it is so great. Sony's rivals will have to come up...

PSP Slim

It costs around the same as the old one, £130. The new weight is immediately noticeable as soon as you hold the PSP in your hand. It's so light that you might think that it's missing something. Sony was able to slim down the battery size while maintaining the 5hr standard PSP time. ...The PSP was brought as a birthday present, I?m not an Avid gamer and didn?t really intend to become one, So it was without much enthusiasm I opened the box. I was soon gripped though on playing with the buttons and the games that came with it, Pretty soon the PSP never left my hands, I found it easy to use and all the functions were simple, even for someone as simple as me. The battery life on my PSP was fantastic and it kept me entertained for many hours on long journeys, I found the DVD Quality to be good although the DVDs themselves can be slightly pricey. I owned the PSP For 2 weeks before I found any problems with it, I was in the middle of a standard game, and it stopped working, It came up with an error saying the Disc could not be read. Nothing worked to fix it, It hadn?t been dropped or anything - I was mighty disappointed...

...I love my PSP, but I'm still playing games I bought 2 or 3 years ago for my original PSP-1000. For a new user, especially, the lack of new games is enough to make anyone worry about investing in one. The 4.3-inch LCD wide screen remains, and it's been tweaked. Sony says the new screen now delivers better color reproduction, reduced glare, and reduced "ghosting" on high-motion scenes. When compared with the 2000, the PSP 3000 does, indeed, deliver better color vibrancy (you can toggle between "wide" and "standard" color in the options to see the difference). As for glare reduction: we didn't find there to be a huge difference. Don't expect to play in direct sunlight, for instance. But you might have better luck with fewer distractions from indoor light sources....

...This is an ideal portable console/MP3 Player and MP4 Player for all. Since having the PSP I no longer find myself bored whilst on the train to work. I generally use it for gaming and watching movies. The gameplay/graphics are awesome for such a small device. The added bonus of the PSP is that you can switch it off and when you switch it back on again it allows you to play where you left off even if this is half way through a football match. As for movie capability, this is straight forward. As long as you have a large enough memory card, you can load MP4 files and watch movies on the go with the PSP. I don't really use the PSP as an MP3 player as it's a little too bulky for the pocket. I don't think this is the main benefit of the PSP but the option's there.
