...I brought my set of tannoys 15 months ago and, at the time,they cost £300.Now,with a little searching around,they can be obtained for under £200. What you get in the box is five satellite speakers(two front,two rear and a centre speaker) plus a seperate powered subwoofer. You also get wall mounted supports for the two front and two rear speakers and all the speaker cables(i changed the cables to 79 stand q.e.d. speaker cable to improve the sound). Setting up the system is relatively easy:you just need an electric drill for the the wall mounted stands and once fitted,you just connect the cables to your home cinema amp. Easy!! Once you have connected everything,it is time to try out the system. My first reaction and i am sure yours will be the same was one of complete disbelief!! A great philips home cinema dvd player

Advantages: Quite alot, HDMI port, colour coded speaker system, good remote control
Disadvantages: Only some minor points in the review. Such as cables can be hard to unplug.

...I got this home cinema system when i got a new tv and ps3. I wanted a DVD player with a good surround sound system and good quality playback. I found this for a very good price of around £120 when alot of similar players cost a lot more. When i got the system home and took it all out of the box i found the simple step by step setup guide which told you exactly where to start and what to do. Each speaker is colour coded so you don't connect the wrong one and they are simple to connect. They are quite hard to unplug some of them though. The rear two speakers come with stands but they don't have to be on them, they can also be places on a surface or wall mounted. The front three speakers do not have stands apart from table stands. All the speakers are easy to mount on the wall. The wires are clear and thin so if you have them running...

Philips HTS3154 DVD Home Theatre System

...i have had this Home Cinema DVD player for over a year now and as far as i can tell there have been absolutely no problems with it. excellent all round DVD player, and has USB and DivX support which is brilliant as i watch a lot of films from my memory stick. One bad thing about the USB is that it doesn't support very large hard drives and U3 drives - anything which you need specific drivers for. The DVD player also has MP3 line-in which is very useful if you have an MP3 player which is not compatible with the USB, so you can just plug it in. One feature i found really good was that it remembers where you were last in your DVD, and that has come in very handy as I am always having to go and do something else. Overall an excellent Home Cinema DVD player, with some features that could be added....

Remember it is always worth to invest some money in cables, let them spread the wings, maybe the speakers are not top shelf, I would say more like a upper "budget" but nevertheless give them "some space". I did some listening in the shop (on an arcam system), comparing them to monitor audio brozne, smaller silvers - RS5, Acoustic Energy Neo 3 and B&W 685 (highly acclaimed - how fair). ...This is my parents' telly. It has proved great for having friends over to watch dvds. We don't actually have a dvd player so we connect up our laptops to the computer using the ports provided & our own leads for connecting a monitor to a computer & sound speakers. .... I was looking for a good quality, not to expensive home cinema system and found this one. Saw LG HT353SD in Sainsbury's for just £79.99 and was not sure. I checked all the other prices online and details on manufacturer's website. Same day decided to go for it and bought it next day. I have it over one week now and am totally satisfied. It does exactly everything what should and does it great. This home theatre system is very nice looking and nicely designed. Stylish I would say as each speakers surface reflects.
