...Ahh Phillips CRT TVs were one of the best of their kind, in both picture quality and sound. Picture is all important to me and other than Pioneer and Panasonic modern LCD/Plasmas, not many others have reached the picture quality standard as the old CRT TV's did. However, this is superseded by Blu-ray and true HD for obvious reasons. You can connect external sound to it but you would not be able to use Phillip's own sound circuitry to control the volume unless it is a Philips brand. Motion and crispness of picture is second to none, with no flicker, it seemlesses plays documentaries at excellent detail. Add to this 100hz technology and possibly Phillips pixel plus, you have an excellent TV which, in my view, lasts and perfoms better than modern LCDs. Nevertheless, it is a great buy, and great to watvh in the comfort of your own...

Philips Matchline Surround Sound TV

Advantages: Well priced, quality throughout

...I have owned a large screen Philips Matchline TV for over 5 years now and have had no trouble with it whatsoever, i can honestly say it's the best TV i have had the pleasure of viewing. You are probably thinking " i want a new TV, not a 5 year old one"? And you would be right. Although my TV is old they are still being manufactured and sold world wide. The Dolby surround sound is incredibly superior, even to Toshiba in my opinion, and the picture quality is still as sharp now as when i first purchased it. So what else has it got? You can collapse the screen for wide screen viewing, mix and change sound types and quality in 3 different modes, Dolby 3d Stereo, Dolby 4 way surround sound ( very good quality ) or mono. Each one has loads of variations including Phantom speaker and Wide sound. Overall it's a very good looking unit...

...I have a 15" widescreen LCD Philips TV, it was about £270 a couple of summers ago. I have had absolutely no problems with it. It has good picture quality, good sound and is rather stylish. he speakers are on each side of the screen and there are a couple of small lights at the bottom left speaker. The buttons are hidden along the top of the TV and are easy to distinguish and press. The connections are all hidden on the back under the TV tube, they are rather awkward to get to but easy enough to set up. It could do with another scart connection though. The picture is a bit fuzzy now and then, but I think that's the signal we get. Also, I do have a dead pixel and a small scratch on the screen that was picked up during transport. It also shows lines across the screen every now and then....

Philips Ambilight TV changes the whole viewing experience

...Im not someone who can go into technical detail, I can only tell you what I think of the TV from my personal experience, so here it is: My partner wanted one of these televisions for ages so at xmas we decided instead of buying each other presents we clubbed together & bought one. When we saw this TV in the shop we where a bit unsure as to how good the ambilight would be as we where not mounting the TV on a wall & every shop we went into displayed it like that. We threw caution to the wind & went ahead & bought one anyway & even though our TV is on a normal stand the lights work very well indeed. The picture quality of this TV is amazing & the ambilight glow that radiates from the sides of the TV makes the viewing experience even better. Philips 26" Flatscreen HD Ready TV

...My previous TV, which was a 19" Mistubishi CRT TV finally bit the bullet, and to find a replacement I choose this Philips 26" Flat Screen HD Ready Monitor. My budget wasn't huge so I had to make do with what I could find bearing in mind a few necessities: - It must be HD Ready - HD content is becoming the norm in terms of gaming as well as movies and even TV programs. This TV was to last me at least 5+ years, so I wanted to be future proof. - Have 2+ Scart sockets, one of the main reasons my previous TV began to fail was that the Scarts at the back became very loose, due to constant swapping between Freeview / DVD Player / VCR Player and PS2, and so having 2+ would mean I wouldn't have to switch it so often. - Be at least 20" and widescreen, 19" was fine in all honesty, but since movies these days are widescreen, getting that...

...I'm an individual who enjoys a good bit of music. Any genre will generally do if it's 'good' - by that I mean not some terrible cheesy pop song, but generally I'll stick to my indie/rock malarkey. So it's ideal then that the New Music Express has introduced their own TV station - NME TV... Operated by CSC Media Group, it replaced the music channel 'Minx' in November 2007 - which is odd as I believe Minx was more a pop music channel that indie. Advantages: Great picure quality, ease of set-up and connectivity.
Disadvantages: Minor sound issue with certain bass frequencies.

...I have owned this tv now for 27 months and have to say that overall I am very happy with my purchase. The TV hasn't played up once and is as good as it was the day I purchased it. I spent 3 months comparing different tv's and reading online reviews before I chose this particular model. Even though by lcd tv standards it is an old model, I have seen very few new tv's that can outperform it, including screens with full 1080p resolution. The gloss black frame around the screen marks very easily and having the speakers on the sides makes for one very large TV. I personally prefer the speakers on the sides and it was one of the reasons I purchased the TV in the first place. The picture quality is very good, installation is fully automated meaning even the biggest techno-phobe should have no problems with it! The colours are natural...

A fantastic Philips 26" flat widescreen tv

Advantages: great picture, looks great, loads of ports, good remote, more in review

...General: I love this TV. Well actually i love most Philips products, i have so many Philips things in my house. This tv looks great. Its 26 inch widescreen with a wide sturdy silver base which allows the tv to tilt backwards slightly. I'm, not sure by how much though. I'd say around 30 degrees. The tv has a built in tv tuner which usually works fine except a couple of times if you turn the tv onto stand by with the digital turner on then when you turn the tv back on sometimes you will have to turn the tv off and back on at the wall as the freeview just goes fuzzy. But this has only happened once or twice and it may only be my tv. Picture/Resolution: The picture is excellent for normal tv and digital. Images are crystal clear and the colours are perfect, very bight and look so realistic. The high definition of the TV is also...
