Phones4U....definitely not 4 me!!!

Advantages: Initial thoughts were pleasant helpful staff. Eager and enthusiastic.
Disadvantages: Turned out to be the pushiest sales technique I have ever encountered.

...Now it is not very often that something makes me mad enough to make a formal complaint but today I was absolutely fuming with the service I received by my local Phones4U store - Greenock, Scotland. Phones4U in Greenock is situated on a corner of a busy high street and is in quite a prominent position. The layout of the shop is small but well stocked, it had all the latest phones and the staff seemed very knowledgeable about the stock too. They sell phones from all the major networks and are the only store in town that offer this. There are of course all the usual mobile providers around it, but I was looking for impartial advice from someone who sold all the networks? Here is my story?? Advantages: unbelivably sexy and beautiful, wonderful internet and video / music
Disadvantages: needs a couple of firmware updates to become the perfect phone

...I brought a Nokia N95 on contract from Phones4U on the 9th July 2007, chuffed with my purchase until today! The speaker broke on my phone, so i went to Phones4U in Walsall who advised me to go to Carphone Warehouse to have it fixed on site instead of sending it off with P4U, as my phone is essential for my work. I went to Carphone Warehouse in Birmingham, everything was fine until my IMEI number was typed in to the Nokia database to check my warrenty...this is where my problem occured! The system said that my phone was a U.S phone therefore has no warrenty in the UK!! (Now if i wanted a U.S phone i would have taken the holiday with it!) Advantages: Visual beauty, ipod perfection, photo demon, movies screen, internet anywhere! PERFECT!

Now i doubt you will be able to find anyone who doesnt think this phone is gorgeous. It has an overall of 4 buttons and a switch. 1 for the home screen, 2 for sound, 1 for on and off and the switch to mute sound. The rest is controlled by your fingers on the 3.5" touch screen. It is beautiful peice of engineering technology. The touch screen is "clever" it know when you touch once, it knows when you pulling across the screen, it knows when your pinching. They were the most reasonable with phones/prices etc. My nearest store is located on Cheapside, London EC3. Having walked past it a few times I knew that it was a very small store. I'd already chosen the phone that I wanted, Siemens CL75 Limited Edition Poppy on Virgin and had telephoned the store beforehand to ask if they had any in stock. Now, Phones 4 U(barring The Link) are the only mobile phone store that you can actually phone the branch nearest to you direct to check on stock.
