Dell photo printer 720

Advantages: Size, cheap
Disadvantages: Paper intake, expensive cartridges, slow

...I bought this Dell printer several months ago when my old printer broke down. I have never really needed to print much (only the occasional essay or B-day card), so I decided to go for this cheap Dell 720 photo printer. I looked for the cheapest printer I could find and I believe this one cost between £30-35 on the Dell website. I have just checked on the website and I don?t think they even sell this version anymore. A newer version the ?Dell 725? has replaced the 720 and is now the cheapest model that Dell sells in the UK (at £35). I ordered the printer on the website and everything from payment to delivery went very smooth (as you might expect from such a big company). Truly amazing Photo Printer

I was in the market for a new printer as had new digital camera and wanted a better quality printer as my previous epson was slightly dated and on its last legs. Having looked around various outlets decided that I liked the look of this one. What can this printer do - well apart from the normal prints from word, excel etc you can also print your photos. You do not need any connection cable from yourcamera to your computer,so if you are a bit short on USB ports this is for you. Your memory card can be inserted direcly into the printer and the printer actually reads the memory card faster than if you had plugges in your camera. Excellent Photo Printer

Advantages: Compact, portable, wireless, preview screen, easy to use.
Disadvantages: None really, but make sure you dont overpay, £140 is a good price.

Epson Photo R285 printer

Advantages: excellent all round while working
Disadvantages: Subject to ink problems but Ok with insurance

...The Epson Sylus Photo R285 is an excellent printer while it is working. In 12 months I have had two of these printers and both have have had the same fault, that being the sudden inability to recognise full ink cartridges and mule like refusing to budge in any direction.This problem occurs about 2-3 months into its use and seems to be brought on by changing one cartridge. Technical support recognise that there is a fault with apparently no remedy. Fortunately i took out a 3 year guarantee with this and PC World have change the printer. An excellent printer but I would recommend any purchaser to take out an insurance. I am going back for a third but I think this might be the last if the fault occurs again!...

One of the best home photo printers around.

Advantages: Great photo quality. Disc printing. Doesn't need a computer.
Disadvantages: Large. Fixed print heads.

...I have owned this printer only for a couple of weeks but I am very impressed with it. I bought it for printing photos, DVD covers (i.e. photos, text and graphics) and discs themselves. The R360 is large but I think stylishly designed for what it is. It is dark grey and silver and quite chunky. The top lid and paper support can be folded down giving a large flat top for standing paper on, perhaps. The front output tray folds up, reducing the printer?s footprint when not in use and helping to keep dust out. The memory card reader has a door too, which really helps the printer look good by concealing the slots. I paid £90 for it in PC World, partly because I wanted it on the day but it also happened to be the best price I found when paying their web price and reserving online. I think it is great value.
