...This software graphics product is one of the best alternatives to Adobe Photoshop CS3/ CS2. It has a similar layout and design if you are familiar with photoshop. There are many drawing features that this product has such as vector drawing, exporting images, normal shape and paintbrush tools. The product also comes equipped with features used to enhance photos by adjusting features such as brightness, contrast, grayscale, removal of red eyes etc. It also has some nice graphic based tools such as artistic effects / 3d effects / texture based tools. As with other similar products it supports the use of layers in images, swatches, transparent backgrounds, picture tubes and has a nice feature that removes backgrounds from image files. It is probably easier to use than photoshop and a great choice at a reasonable price....

Corel's Paint Shop Beauty

Advantages: Affordable, massive range of tools, accepts many Photoshop plugins, easy to learn
Disadvantages: It's not Photoshop.

...I've been using Paint Shop Pro since around 1998/9, when PSP5 was out. Since then, it's been through many different upgrades, and I've learnt much about photo and image editing along the way. Until version 10, or Paint Shop Pro X to give it its proper title, the software was developed and sold by Jasc. From version 10 onwards, however, it has been part of the Corel family of software, alongside the likes of Corel Draw and, of late, Winzip. From version 11 onwards, the software gained the word 'Photo' in its title, becoming Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI. It's impossible to give a review that covers absolutely everything about a product like Paint Shop Pro. ...Advantages: Loads of stuff available, good prices Disadvantages: can get busy at christmas time so much so people abandon their shopping I am a huge Asda fan, it's where I do most of my shopping and I know where everything is which makes it easier when dragging 3 kiddies along with you! In my local Asda we have a photo centre, cafe, George, electricals, homewear, toys, bakery, pizzaria, rottisary (chicken place lol), fresh meats counter and all the usual foody aisles plus we have a petrol station, cash machines and bus stop. It's the largest shopping store we have although we do have a Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Co-Op, Farm Foods and Iceland. I have never had a bad experience with Asda and the stock is usually replenished quite quickly! They have such a huge range that I know I can do my weekly shop and more there. Everything...

Quick shop & a quick snap?

Advantages: Fairly quick, choice of print sizes
Disadvantages: Not quite hour service, couldn't find my piccies at first!

..., there are no 1 hour, 1 day, 2 day or week services, they are just done in order and the same price charged, this is great if you are a frequent hour user but maybe not quite so great if you are not really in a hurry to get your pictures, you'll still be payng the same as someone who wants their pictures in an hour, anyway, we were told it was abut a 2 hour wait for the picture because the chap was on his own and incredibly busy, this was OK for us but it could prove to be annoying for those who want to do thier shop & pick up their photos at the end of the shop, I'd be hard pushed to shop for 2 hours! So we left our precious wedding picture in the hands of Tesco. I'm not going to bore you with what I did in those 2 hours (well, I took the car to the car wash then I.......yawn). Digital Photo Printing at Boots

Advantages: Quick and Easy Self Service - Quality - Professional

...I worked at a few Max Speilmann shops, and the odd Klick (owned by the same company and run the same) over eight months, and there are a few things I've noticed during my time there that would be helpful to potential customers. - Staff are penalised for accepting 6x4 prints and will do anything to get you to upgrade to 7x5 (their 'standard') when you don't need to. They will tell you that they do not print 6x4s anymore - they do, just tell them that you know for a fact that they do and they will print them. - The photocentre in Birmingham to which they send any orders over a day is a mess. Many prints get lost, come back damaged, get mixed up with other orders, come back in the wrong size.
