JVC GR-D740EK

Advantages: light, compact easy to use, excellent optical zoom
Disadvantages: no external mic or light no remote

...I bought one of these 3 weeks ago to go on holiday. I also bought a spare battery off ebay (£11). I am a bit new to camcorders, only having an ancient Sony before. So having fiddled around with the settings managed to produce the first tape in absolute silence. So then I read the book, and got the soung working again, (my fault) The 740 is AMAZING. even the standard (808)battery will run off 2 tapes before giving up. and the bigger (815)spare battery lasted the rest of the holiday which took another 3 tapes (60 min) and didnt run out. Back home connecting to the PC was easy and I just let Pinnacle Studio do all the work. Editing is simple using it. And the results were great. The fold out LCD screen has a joystick on it and you can do just about everything from there. The colours are rich even in the eyepiece viewfinder. This isn...

jvc camcorder

Advantages: very easy to use, small and light
Disadvantages: ?

...I bought this camcorder and i liked it very much. The GR-D70, as with it's sister products the GR-D20/30/90, is likely to satisfy customers looking for a no-frills, easy-to-use camcorder that has digital stills, USB and full DV/AV inputs. First Impressions: The GR-D70 isn't a featherweight - but neither does it have the sturdiness of DCR-TRV22 (it's nearest Sony competitor). It' overall design is functional rather than beautiful, though that won't be of concern to someone who is looking for a camcorder that is easy to get to know, offers a reasonable range of functions, and which does what it says on the box. The main power switch, menu thumbwheel, photo button and small zoom toggle are all to the right of the monochrome 0.24" LCD viewfinder and are easily accessible when shooting. The camera's line are pleasing to the eye...

A great beginners camcorder from JVC

Advantages: Has all the features you would want for a beginners camcorder
Disadvantages: When light levels are low the picture can become a little jerky and grainy.

...First things first. This is NOT the best camcorder on the market. It is NOT the smallest or the lightest. But what this camcorder has going for it is that it is a very good all rounder. It has a massive amount of features and as such clearly beats its similarly priced competitors. You can check the technical specs for yourself in the product information; the purpose of this review is to let you know how it handles. The size isn't really much of a problem, especially if like me you have big hands, because smaller corders can be a bit fiddly when your hand is bigger than it is. So the GR-D70 is just the right size to fit nicely in your hand giving easy access to all of the features, although you may need a nimble thumb to quickly switch between, manual and auto focus and play back. but it keeps your fingers and thumbs away from...

JVC - excellant value.

Advantages: Excellant pictures, features and value.
Disadvantages: Uses an eye piece rather than a side screen.

...I have recently bought a JVC compact VHS digital camcorder, model number GR-AX201. I bought this particular item as I am well into computers and wanted to try messing around with the various digital features. My wife also want a digital camera. This camcorder can take still snapshots, comes with many editing features for the experienced user and is so easy to use for the less experienced. It comes with an excellant picture stabalizer, very quick auto focus and an integrated auto light for use when the natural light is too dim. It has many other features which I could give however the one I like is the way I can just remove the film, place it into the cassette adapter ( basically a video tape ), and then watch it immediately like a video. This product is excellant for anyone wanting a digital camcorder....

same camcorder diffrent name? GR-D247

Advantages: light, easy to use and cheap
Disadvantages: the little blue saftey button and the flimsey cover

...Now we had been looking for a light and easy to use camera that we would be able to take with us on holidays we looked on here to find reviews and saw the GR-D240 but could only find the GR-D247 which seems to be the same as the GR-D240. The advantages that I can see are: •It's a lot smaller than anticipated which is great its about the size of your palm (6.4 x 8.4 x 14.6 cm), •Its very light (half a kilo all in), for something so small it seems to have a very big screen (2.5 inch), •Great sound the microphone seems to pick up all the sounds around. •You can either have the camera on manual or on auto this is great •The zoom is great to and very easy to use The disadvantages that I have been able to see are: •The motor comes up very loud when you play back the footage on the camera...

Main Features: -------------------- Media Formats Accepted - The camera accepts Mini DV casettes to record videos and SD MultiMedia Cards for still images. JVC Good

Advantages: Movie Quality
Disadvantages: Picture Quality

...The JVC GR-DVL9600 is at top of JVC?s consumer camcorder range, the GR-DVL9600 is stuffed with as many bits and bobs as the engineers could mange and this has to make you think that it?s probably trying to be too many different things to too many different people. It?s a bit like that new, over keen staff member who?s trying to please all the people all the time. If it would calm down a bit I might like it a bit more. It looks pretty good, and is pleasantly small and rounded for a palm type so that it fits comfortably in the hand. Knobs and buttons are all where they should be although the two important selectors the one on the side which switches between progressive scan, video and the photo modes and the on/off switch at the back- could not do with being more difficult to turn. I found myself having to check the mode dial after I...
