Piazza Cavour
Advantages: Cinema, Church, local shopping an cafes.
Disadvantages: Not too much for tourists.
....
Piazza Cavour is a square in Rome, which is mostly residential and partially commercial. There are no real tourist attractions on Pizza Cavour, but it's possible that you might visit it for the annual book fair or pass through if you're doing a lot of walking in Rome. It's a useful route from the Vatican to the north eastern side of the city (Piazza del Popolo, Spanish Steps, Via del Corso etc).
Where is it?
It's located just off Via Crescenzo, which is a main street running from close to the Vatican Museum (Sistine Chapel) to Piazza Cavour. It's also just north of Via Triboniano which is the closest road running north from the bridge directly south of Piazza Cavour. If you're coming from the north of the city then you can reach by travelling south on the Via Lucrezio.
What's On It?
Well, not too much...

Piazza del Popolo - A Brief Review
Advantages: Near to other attractions, great places to get lunch and coffee
Disadvantages: Out of the way a bit.
...Piazza del Popolo is north east of the city centre and located just above tourist attractions such the Spanish Steps and some great streets for shopping that the Italians frequently visit themselves. It's near to the mauseleum of Hadrian and just below a fantastic park, Borghese, that's great to eat lunch and relax in.
The squares name is derrived from the modern Italian for 'the peoples square'. The church that stands on one side of the square, Santa Maria del Popolo takes it's name from the historical context of the name of the square. The square itself is very large and has various features. The obelisk in the centre has a fascinating history; in 10 BC Augustus brought it to Italy from Egypt. It's theme is Rameses the second. Prior to living in the square it was located in the Cirucs Massimo, which was where chariot racing took...

PIAZZA SAN MARCO LIKE A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN.
Advantages: History Beauty and Style
Disadvantages: No Free Seats
...PIAZZA SAN MARCO. is like falling in love with a Beautiful Woman, when with her you can not stay long enough, when away you can not wait to return to her.
You may speak to people who have only visited her on a Day trip, they will probably have not been impressed. They will only have seen her in the company of thousands.
To see the Piazza at its best and Romantic you must Visit her late at night with your wife, husband, lover or just a friend. The sqaure seems to be your own, so beautifully lit. Which really highlights the shape of the square.
When you enter from the Grand Canal DO NOT WALK BETWEEN the two columns, in the past you only passed between when being sent for execution.
The Doges Palace is on your right, this is well worth a Tour, get there early to beat the queues. (Day Trippers normally decend on Venice about 09...

La Piazza Italian Restaurant without style
Advantages: Good location
Disadvantages: Expensive,No lunch menu,rude staff, noisy,uncomfortable
...I m basing my review of La Piazza on my experience a few months ago. For those of you who are not too familiar with Edinburgh, this restaurant is in Shandwick Place,West end. It is ideally situated near many offices and the Financial district of Edinburgh. There are many Italian restaurants in Edinburgh-especially in the City Centre. I went here with a friend as she works nearby to it and was recommended it by colleagues. I had previously been to the restaurant about 5 years ago for a friend's birthday night outbut of course things have changed. The interior is a lot better and it hads been extensively refurbished.
One major flaw about this restaurant is that even though they open all day from 12 until late, they do NOT offer a lunch menu -which is very annoying and disappointing. The cost of all the meals are not cheap either compared...

Bella Italia - Milton Keynes
Advantages: Good menu, excellent food, nice atmosphere
Disadvantages: waiters average, can get bit crowded
...Bella Italia, formerly known as Bella Pasta is a chain of Italian Restaurants, about 60 odd, throughout the country.
I visited this restaurant last week with my fiancée while out shopping in Milton Keynes. The restaurant is located near the shops with pubs and other restaurants next to it.
Appearance
---------------
On walking through the doors, you are greeted with a two level restaurant, actually very large, it could probably fit between 80 and 100 people in it! The décor was very nice and well kept, in an Italian style, all brown and beige colours. We noticed that the kitchen is open view in the diner so that you can see the chefs cooking which is an excellent thing - provides safe knowledge of food and adds character to the restaurant.
They also had quiet music on in the background which wasn't too harsh. The tables were...

Pack your bags honey, we're moving to Italy...
Advantages: The best Italian restaurant outside of London
Disadvantages: Menu could be bigger and updated more
...Casa Italia is arguably the best Italian restaurant outside of London in terms of actual good Italian food (I happen to rate La Belini in Kensington as an outstanding Italian restaurant).
I think that Cheshire Life magazine voted them Restaurant of the Year in 2002.
I eat out a lot (3/4 times a week) and always go to the Casa Italia at least once weekly, mainly as somewhere that's quick, easy and guaranteed to deliver tasty fodder! I also get them to give me a take-out so I can stick it in the freezer and eat my favourite dishes at my leisure (usually at 2am watching The Sopranos on DVD).
First of all, unless you have 12+ people, you can't book a table, you just turn up. It's a big open plan restaurant so you never have to wait long even though it is always packed (one slight criticism is that at times they do rush you...

Bella Italia in Mexico ... literally
Advantages: Yummy food, nice atmosphere
Disadvantages: A bit like Pizza Hut meets any other pizza chain in the world, and clearly not Mexican
...into coming here.
The warm-but-not-hot garlic bread was massive and could easily have fed 4 people as a side dish. It reminded me of the sort Deep Pan Pizza used to serve, but was one long baton rather than several smaller pieces. It's rare to find garlic bread in Mexico, so I had to try it, and it was nice and garlicky but not so over powering that no one would sit next to us in the cinema an hour later. My pasta was beautifully cooked, which is not always the case here since lots of non-Italian places try to offer pasta on their menus, but don't do it well. It reminded me of Bella Italia at home, another chain Italian restaurant, but one that serves up good food. I was especially pleased to get fresh parmesan, grated for me at the table, since this is a rarity here, and last time I came I didn't even get offered cheese. Big Sis's pizza...

Christmas Market in Piazza Navona
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...Piazza navona is one of the most beautiful squares in Rome. During th Christmas holidays it gets decked out and decorated with lights and its outlines are surrounded by stalls selling Christmas goods. It is lovely to go there and choose a variety of hand-crafted pieces for the Crib, or Christmas Tree decorations. On the morning of 6th January (the feast of the Epiphany) legend says that an old lady, dressed in rags and flying a broom, called La Befana, brings sweets and candies to children who were good during the past year, and coal to children who behaved mischievously. Children leave their sock out to be filled with goodies on the eve of January 6th. In Piazza Navona Christmas Market it is possible to buy lumps of 'charcoal' made of sugar to put in the children's sock to hide all the sweets and goodies below. I hope you will visit...

The Keats Shelley Memorial
Advantages: Wonderful tribute to two great poets
Disadvantages: Few
...It might be considered to be less than poetic justice that two of England's most brilliant poets are not only buried on foreign soil but may be the only poets to whom a memorial house-which is now part of Roman Folklore-has been dedicated in a country other than their own.
The two poets in question,John Keats and Percy Bysshe Shelley, are buried in the Protestant Cemetery in Rome whilst at No 26 Piazza di Spagna(the Spanish Steps),is the Keats-Shelley Memorial House.
The hugely talented but very sick John Keats had gone to the Eternal City on account of his health-he suffered from tuberculosis, like other members of his family had.The last few months of his life were spent in Rome and it was at 26 Piazza di Spagna that the brilliant London-born poet died at the tender age of 25.A plaque identifies the house.,whose exterior is...

A little taste of Italy in an unexpected place
Advantages: Great food, friendly staff, very good prices
Disadvantages: It's not the most typical place to find a good restaurant
...There are ciao members who believe I live entirely on expense account meals so to prove once again that I can get my flexible friend out of my wallet without surgery, here's another in my occasional series of value-for-money restaurants. Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce you to La Piazza.
I've known and loved La Piazza since it first opened back in the 1996. At that time I was living a short walk away in Urmston - near enough to stagger home after half a bottle of wine without worrying about needing to drive. However a job change took me away from the area until November last year and now I'm temporarily camping out in the spare bedroom of my old next-door neighbour during the week. Before Christmas we both realised that there was nothing we wanted present-wise so she offered to buy me dinner as my Christmas treat and I offered...
