...As a former Manchester resident Picadilly 21 is a night club that can't be avoided with a strong reputation in surrounding areas. I have pulled in there 75% of my visits there. Generally it is night club where many resident MANCS can be seen to go out to and therefore it would be advisable for out of towners to try not to dominate this teritory too much. Bottom line if somebody thinks your being too loud and they know your from out of town then you are likely to be confronted. It is nevertheless a great place and has a fantastic interior, with two huge floors and plenty of comfortable seating. There is a chill out area upstairs consisting of huge sofas, where many people have been known to indulge in adult games with their newly aquired partners. Food, served Kung Fu Style

Advantages: Great Entertainment, Great Atmosphere, Delicious Food

...OK, so I guess you all now know I’m a bit of a Japanese food junkie, but whereas my opinion of Misato (see elsewhere) were at the budget end of the spectrum, BeniHana is at the ‘gulp at the prices’ end of the spectrum. I first encountered BeniHana when I wanted to try something different for my 25th birthday party. I think the main reason why I wanted to try it was the fact that it was TeppenYaki, which means that the food is cooked in front of your table on a big grill so had a entertainment value. The branch I visited was in Picadilly in London. There are other branches in Chelsea and Swiss Cottage and Benihana is known in the USA. The Palace In Picadilly

Advantages: Big, Centered, Somewhat Cheap
Disadvantages: Not The best Rooms In The World

...Last year, I went to the Regent Palace in Picadilly for a short 3-day weekend trip to London, as a break from work. Centered just off Picadilly Circus, which is one of the most publicised places in London, it has good access to the London Underground, a whole range of resteraunts and is just off Piccadilly's Chinatown. Starting with the reception. As you go in, it has a shop to your right and a cafe to your left. The Regent Palace offers an Internet service to it's customers, and some terrible rate, but your here to get away from work, not bring it with you, so it's not much of a problem. The main foyer looks nice and grand, with a good system on checking in and checking out. You have a resteraunt just beyond that, where you get your breakfast (if you wish to pay for it) in a sealed envelope, if you wish to pay for that too. Otherwise...

A great place for a great laugh

Advantages: Great cocktails, great food, good for parties.
Disadvantages: Getting in can be a problem, but not usually.

...Ok, I have to admit liking TGI Fridays a lot, in my opinion its one of the best place to go for parties. My experience have been at the Picadilly Circus and Covent Garden branches. Arriving: You cannot book so its a great place to go at the last minute. The fact you cannot book can also pose a problem. You can wait at the bar for your table, that is if you are at least 21 or with a parent/guardian. Which means if you're 20 or younger you could find yourself waiting in the door while a table becomes ready. This aside once you get a table its one of the most fun places to eat out. Ordering: The staff give you long enough to choose what you want to order, and the first thing you'll want are the cocktails, and TGI Fridays certainly have enough. Why don't you stop at Turnham Green

...I remember back to the good old days when the Picadilly line actually stopped at Turnham Green. It made travelling a bit easier, but now the trains very infrequently stop there and so you have to make the awful transfer between the district line to the picadilly line. I don't understand why this is the case...it would clear up alot of the crowds on the district line and I don't think that it would cause an unnecessary delay. The other problem with the Picadilly line is that there are sometimes loads of tourists with their big suitcases causing obstruction especially when they decide to board the train at rush hour. However, this is a cheap and economical way to travel to Heathrow, far cheaper than the Airbus and taxis. So I can't really complain about this line, because it has its uses....

The Big KL

Advantages: affordable and exciting
Disadvantages: hot and humid the whole year

...Kuala Lumpur or KL, is consider to be one of the best city in the world. Talking about food, one can savour a variety of dishes prepared in Chinese, Malay or Indian style. For tourist, I would recommend them to try these foods at the hawker centre i.e. Bangsar, Damasara, Jalan Alor. Night Life is interseting as well. Especially in Bangsar ( Jalan Telawi 2), I will said the environment is almost similar to Picadilly in London. One will be tempted to go back to KL if they have been there....

Manchester Metrolink

Advantages: Fast service linking towns

...Tonight i had the privelage of watching my beloved Manchester United beat Chelsea in the Worthington Cup 5th round. To get there however, i first had to endure the agony of the Metrolink. (For those of you that don't know, the Metrolink is the tram service for Manchester). The platform at Picadilly Gardens was busy to say the least, but when the tram arrived it was already full. Tonight there was nearly 60,000 people at the game, most of them getting to the game via the Metro, and the fact is that the system cannot cope with such a high volume of people. Normally it is a great service, with trams every six minutes through the day, plus , it is so much faster than regular bus service. My advice to you is that if you ever need to use the Metro on a match day at Old Trafford,-don't. You will regret it....

Fiat Grande Punto dynamic Sport 1.4

Disadvantages: could turn out to have niggling faults and local dealership is useless

...I bought a 12 month old Grande Punto Dynamic Sport 1.4 from Picadilly Motors in Wakefield and the experience was a good one. However since owning it for just over a month it has developed a rattle in the rear off side door and the door lock in the same door has gone intermittent. Sometimes it will not lock sometimes the outside handle doesn't work. I booked it into a Fiat Dealership locally, in Stockport, with a 10 day lead time, telling them of the lock and rattle problem and they diagnosed it needed a new lock and i would have to come back when the lock was obtained. Several days later I took it in for a fix while i wait and 11/2 hours later they notified me that they had got the wrong lock, the one for the nearside rather than offside.it has to go back again. i can see this is going to be fun. The rattle was supposed to be fixed...

Breath of fresh air

Advantages: Original style, catchy choruses, different instrumentation, mixture of vocalists

...A British band with a percussionist, a blues related style and lyrics that originate from Manchester Picadilly Station to Mexico. Not many of those about are there? Well, here is the only one I know of, the deserved Mercury prize-winning Gomez, whose first album Bring It On is a breath of fresh air on the Indie scene. The album is full of wonderful tracks with catchy choruses and hooks from rarely used instruments. Though the band has 3 guitars in it, there isn't a rock sound to the album at all, with exciting percussion parts and infectious effects stealing the show, all for the better. Bring It On is a great album that is refreshing after some of the bland guitar bands of the nineties, as it really shows the variety Gomez have. The songs range from anthemic numbers such as Whippin' Picadilly and Get Myself Arrested to laid back...
