Pick up a reward with Nescafe!

...If you have read some of my other reviews you will realise that I am one of those people who is always on the lookout for a bargain and I try to make a little extra wherever I can. I am always one of the first to sign up to a new loyalty card or a new cashback site and certainly over the years the rewards do add up! Pick-me-ups is the reward scheme for buying and drinking Nescafe coffee. First of all, I want to make it clear that this review is not about Nescafe coffee, although you have to want to drink it in order to take part in the reward scheme. picking up the brass - eddy nugent - hilarious

...My boyfriend whos a serving soldier bought a copy of this book after reading about it in soldier magazine. Having had a brief flick through it, i requested it when he was done. Being a slow reader he bought me my own copy @ £7.99 from waterstones. Not all of them carry it and he did have to pre-order it. the language level is not for the feint hearted, but there are some seriously funny parts that have had me laughing out loud. I am not finished with it yet, but so far it has kept me amused and up reading for some time after i shoud have been fast asleep. Its listed as a fiction book of a 16 year old lad starting out his career in the mid 80's with the army, though i feel its quite possible that much of it i borne from the actual experience of the authors than of pure fiction . Pick Me Up and ignore the ad.

...I expect you have seen the advertisement for this magazine on the television. It is the one in a corner shop about the magazine to the tune of Pick me up buttercup. To me that is enough to put me off buying it but anyway I did and glad I did. So what is good about Pick Me Up? Well the first thing is that it costs 68p which isnt bad when it claims more real life stories than any other mag and that some magazines like Best are now as much as 83p. It comes out every Thursday. If it is a story on the cover that first catches your eye, when you look at the index it has a section for "on the cover" it then lists the true stories, the happy endings and then the regulars so you know exactly where to look for something. Definitely PICK ME UP, Great read

Advantages: True life Stories
Disadvantages: When it comes to an end

...are called COME ON IN, this is classed as your pages. Its where the readers get a chance to send in photos with a caption, jokes, etc, generally just to make everyone smile. After reading a few good quality stories you come to a page called THATS GOOD TO KNOW, this is where readers write in with their tips, clever ideas. These are very handy, I usually keep them for future reference. If you send a tip in you get £15 for it without a photograph and £25 if you send them a photograph too. After reading more true stories there is a page called TODDLYGOOK, and this is where you get the chance to send photographs of your children doing funny things etc. Again the magazine gives £25 for everyone they print. There are 2 pages on Bargain Fashion. I like this in a magazine but what I like about Pick Me Up is that there is only the 2 pages which...

...You've most probably seen the advert on the telly, now buy the magazine! 'Pick Me Up' (PMU) is a weekly magazine which comes out every Thursday. It is priced at just £0.60p which, compared to some other magazines on the market, is quite cheap. And there's quite a lot in it too. What I like about this magazine is the variety of content in it. 'Pick Me Up' but can you put me down? '

Advantages: There are lots of stories and puzzles for you to do.
Disadvantages: Some stories are less interesting.

...'Pick Me Up' is a magazine full of real life stories. A new copy comes out every Thursday and it costs 68p. Pick Me Up has many stories in that have been sent in by readers. The story lengths vary which is very convenient so you can read them in between doing things. Some of the other sections in the magazine are: That's good to know This page is full of people's tips and ideas the tips vary from how to remove stains to how to keep fruit ripe longer. To be honest most of the tips are quite obvious and pointless but every now and then there is a good one that I will use. Could you love me? This is just small section which each week shows six animals that need to be re-homed. This week's pets include: dogs, cats and rabbits. ...Those of you that have read my earlier reviews may realise that I am a great believer in looking after the pennies and letting the pounds take care of themselves. So when I am offered something for nothing from something that I buy anyway I am sure to take full advantage of it. Nescafe pick-me-ups offers me free goodies for just collecting beans from the back of jars of coffee that I buy regularly. ...Now here it is.... my third and final review from my magazine fest! Pick me Up! It was quite funny to be honest, the first time I saw this in the shop, I saw the name 'pick me up' and guess what I did...... picked it up! After a quick glance over the front cover - with its lure to the stories within, I waqs sure it was a magazine i would enjoy.... and i was right! I handed the kind lady at tesco my 65p (thats the weekly cost) and took myself home for a damn good read! Packed with true life stories and lots of regular features, this is a magazine you will love! A lot newer than many of the other weekly magazines, but so far it seems to have proved itself worthy for the shops shelves and our coffee table!
