...Picture It 2000 is a program produced by Microsoft, and when they produced it, they thought of almost everything. I say almost, because just around the corner was the competition and it was exceptionally good competition and offered more than Picture it did. The Package comes at approx twenty six Pounds, and for your money, you get good value if you are unaccustomed to complicated programs. However, with the popularity of Roxio, and the thought that Roxio put into their product from the standpoint of user friendliness, and what the consumer wanted, rather than what Microsoft thought we should have, Roxio photographic package (Roxio Easy CD Creator 6) stands out head over heels above what Microsoft offer with this package. I still use it. There are occasions when I want the odd feature on this program that Roxio do not offer...

...Picture Pairs is a classic game that I used to love playing with my brother when I was a child, but it wasn't until very recently that I started to play the game with Harry. We were staying with my parents for a little while, and my mum decided to get Harry some games to play with her. I wasn't sure what was suitable for his age (3.5 years), but she picked up this game, Picture Pairs, and Animal Snap. We got them home and Harry was eager to get stuck in, and so were we actually, and would you believe it's now his favourite game we have to play at least once a day! It's a game that can be played in so many ways, and is always fun for younger children to play. It is sometimes called Memory pairs but it's still the same principle and the same game. Disadvantages: words presented in kanji and kana mixed, but not just using kana, scenes are of a Western city

...I have to admit that I bought this book with some trepidation. I have encountered a lot of picture dictionaries in my time, and even as a child I can recall being disappointed with the low quality. Many seemed to be geared towards toddlers, a sort of "what is this" point and see the word in English sort of mentality. I find English only picture dictionaries a bit suspect, therefore, but with two children aged 6 and 8 learning Japanese, I thought perhaps a bilingual picture dictionary might aid in their vocabulary acquisition. As it was, it seemed that every five seconds I was being asked, "What is this in Japanese?" (Actually, my eldest points at something and asks, "Nani (what [is this])?" Pretty as a picture we've seen before

Advantages: Good to chill out to. Nice if you like her voice!
Disadvantages: The album doesn't stand out. Annoying warbles here and there

...Micrografx Picture Publisher is an excellent image scanning tool that came free with my Scanner. First, it allows you to scan images or simply open other images that are saved. It then uses a wizard that walks you through all the general photo editing procedures, ie straighting a crooked photo, cropping a photo, red eye removal, colour adjustment, etc. When all this is done you are then placed into the editing more here you can edit the picture in any way you want, there are all the standard pencil, paintbrush, etc tools, plus some other really cool tools. You can even convert black and white photos into colour, this is really cool! When you are finished editing your photo, you can save it using many of the different file types that are supported, I generally use the jpeg format which then gives you compression with a preview window...

...In days gone by if you wanted to display your favourite photos then you had two choices, you either placed all the photos in big clumsy albums which you could pass round to visitors to browse through in turn or you could have dozens of photo frames all around your living room making the place look very, very cluttered. These days with digital cameras we all have even more images to display and now thankfully we also have a new way to display them. The digital photo frame has been around for a while now but they are coming down in price and improving in quality so much so that they are soon going to be the thing no house can be without. Big smiles for Picture

...We delt with this company last year and have had no complaints with them at all.....until now but it's only a small one. Picture are just like the advert on the tv - very nice, friendly, chatty about everything under the sun. We chose them because they can offer up to 125% of your house value and their valuation is done online - not by sending someone out to do a drive by valuation and charge you for it like some companies. I spoke to my account manager a few times by telephone. I found him very helpful, non-judgmental and very friendly. I told him what i had been quoted from other companies and told him what i was looking for and he seemed happy to offer me just that. To give you a clearer 'picture' (haha) we borrowed £19,000 over 15 years. the repayments were calculated with an APR of 8.9% making our payment £234 per month...

My Picture Mate!

Advantages: easy to use, excellent results

...was very easy to do, but the quality of the photos was not very good because of the low resolution on the camera on my mobile phone. I probably won't use this feature very much. The photos were still of a reasonable quality though, so if I'm out and about without my camera, I could take a picture on my phone and print it when I get home. I find it is really easy to use. There is a colour LCD screen that can be lifted up when in use. Both paper trays (where paper is inserted and where photo comes out) also fold down which makes it much easier for storage. The LCD screen allows you to view the photos before selecting the ones that you want to print. Photos can be printed in a variety of forms. The printer only prints on 6 x 4 size paper.
