Review of Picture This! (DVD)

Ice Station Zebra -- unable to put it down

Advantages: A really entertaining read
Disadvantages: none

...First and foremost forget the film, it is unable to capture the humour and intensity fully. This is one of my favourite books, containing just the right mix of intrigue and humour, whilst running along at a great pace . We start off meeting the major characters very quickly, and a battle of wits starts immediately, between commander Swanson and crew of a US nuclear submarine and Dr Carpenter, sent from London to join the Sub on a special mission to trace a missing ice station named Zebra. (needless to say this may not be the whole truth) ! Now the story begins with lies, subterfuge, lies, sabbotage, lies, murder, lies,one of my favourite lines comes from this book and if you read it, its the one about I almost believed it myself. The story twists and turns with some great descriptives along the way to really bring you into the story...

Review of Ice Station Zebra - Alistair MacLean

Fisher price bounce and spin zebra..... A bouncing spinning Zebra

Advantages: Keeps the little ones happy
Disadvantages: Annoying music, noisy..... but thats just us ;o) the kids will love it

...My little one had this for christmas last year and it's still going strong today so yes it is pretty durable and tough! It's a super cute bouncy spinning zebra, which plays (annoying ahhem*) music!! It came in a rather large, heavy box as I remember, but putting it together was a doddle (even for me!!!) The green base snaps together with each triange then forming a hexagon, it fits around the base of the zebra (I had to put his handles on too) and then thats pretty much it (there may have been some screws I can't remember). My little one has had hours of fun on it (so have the older two) but it seemed a lot smaller than I expected?? At £45 it wasn't cheap but it was one of his big presents so I didn't mind. I bought mine out of the christmas toy catalouge, but they are sold in argos and toysrus for roughly the same price. It...

Pretty as a picture we've seen before

Picture are just like the advert on the tv - very nice, friendly, chatty about everything under the sun. We chose them because they can offer up to 125% of your house value and their valuation is done online - not by sending someone out to do a drive by valuation and charge you for it like some companies. I spoke to my account manager a few times by telephone. I found him very helpful, non-judgmental and very friendly. I told him what i had been quoted from other companies and told him what i was looking for and he seemed happy to offer me just that. ...Service from picture is ok when you initially get in touch with them, and the promptness is okay but please think twice before getting a loan with them if you are thinking of moving to a bigger house or in fact changing anything at all about your mortgage. we have had nothing but problems with Picture since we got a secured loan from them. We have a loan for £36,000 and were more or less told that if we didnt get the payment protection (a separate £9,000 loan) we would get loan. We were due to move to a bigger house, but picture said that they wanted all the free proceeds that we got after we had repaid our original mortgage. when I pointed out to them that this wasnt in their literature or the agreement, they said that this was a new rule that they had because of the current economic situation. Advantages: Funny, good storyline, interesting characters, a good starting point

...Yes, my review section is slowly filling up with Pratchett books. That should say something of my opinion of his work by itself. Moving Pictures is, like most of his novels, a Discworld book, set on a fantasy world that moves through the universe carried by four elephants standing on the back of a giant turtle. Once you've got in the right frame of mind to accept the absurdity of the setting, you're ready for the story. Pratchett's stories are comedies, though this doesn't mean the plot or characters fall short in any way. You get a good story with a lot of jokes along to way. Some of the jokes are bad puns, others are clever ideas and the majority just look at the world we're used to in a slightly scewed way. ...was very easy to do, but the quality of the photos was not very good because of the low resolution on the camera on my mobile phone. I probably won't use this feature very much. The photos were still of a reasonable quality though, so if I'm out and about without my camera, I could take a picture on my phone and print it when I get home. I find it is really easy to use. There is a colour LCD screen that can be lifted up when in use. Both paper trays (where paper is inserted and where photo comes out) also fold down which makes it much easier for storage.
