...beyond our budget if it wasn't for the Clubcard vouchers that are worth four times their face value, but after much debate and research we plumped for Port Bourgenay, run by Pierre et Vacances, as it looked like it was in a perfect location, is close to the beach, and there seemed to be a lot to do. It cost somewhere in the region of £1000 for the accommodation (£250 in deals) for seven nights and £300 for the return ferry. ~*~ Location ~*~ We live in the south west, so a Portsmouth - Cherbourg crossing is ideal for us. We always get the earliest ferry (around 9am) so we arrive in France around 3pm which gives us plenty of time to drive to our accommodation and settle in by bed time. Or so I thought! Pierre et Vacances - great holidays in France

Advantages: holiday apartments, ideal for families, a lot of activities
Disadvantages: expensive extras

...Vacancy was a film I actually only saw a few months back, even though the film had been out for some time prior to this. Vacancy starts the gorgeous Kate Beckinsale, and Luke Wilson, brother of Owen Wilson. The film opened in April 2007; however it wasn't a smash hit horror film only ranking in as high as number 4. Plot: David and Amy fox, a married couple are driving back from a counselling session, when during the middle of the night their car breaks down in some random, unknown area, near the LA region. ...Vacancy is a movie which has Luke Wilson and Kate Beckingsale as its main parts David and Amy. The film is supposed to be a horror/thriller, but when I first saw it advertised on the television I really could not take the time to go down to my local cinema and watch it, for the following reasons: - • There is a different horror movie realized every week and three quarters of them are pathetic and I don't enjoy. • Films come out on DVD so quickly that even if I wanted to watch it that much, it would be so much that I can't wait for its DVD release. • Kate Beckingsale is lovely and very beautiful, and Luke Wilson is one of my favourite actors (he and his brother Owen) but I couldn't personally see them pulling of the thriller story, especially not as a stage couple, don't ask, I just had a feeling! • The story...

...The Film It's hard to put your finger on what exactly it is that makes "Être et Avoir" (To Be and To Have) such a magical, heartwarming and compelling film. First released in 2002, and newly released on DVD with English subtitles in June 2009, the film has enjoyed critical acclaim and international success, in my mind for good reason. On the face of it the subject matter doesn't seem that promising, a documentary maker, one Nicolas Philibert, followed the progress of a class in a primary school in France for six months. This, however, is no reality TV special - somehow the director has managed in this film to capture something special and even the subtitles don't detract from what is a beautifully shot insight into the lives of the children and their teacher. Epiphone Les Paul Studio, a little too evil?

...Firstly i'd like to say that for me this guitar looks rather drab and boring, as it is so plain and all in black. There is no contrast in colour and doesn't really stand out. But with that now said, i will go onto the other aspects. It has the standard les paul fittings, which are sturdy and reliable, and the tuners that hold their tuning very well. The pickups are high output and sound very heavy, which is ideal for hard rock and metal. The neck pickup sounds a bit too heavy and doesn't sound great with only light distortion but sound good clean. The guitar is quite heavy in weight and can make my shoulder ache if i've had it on the strap too long. But the weight is only due to the mahogany it is made from. It is buit very well and is also sturdy. The fitted neck is very nice and adds to the build quility....

Disadvantages: You've seen almost all of it before elsewhere

...either. The twist at the end of Resident Evil: Apocalypse doesn't seem to have been used much which may annoy or confuse some viewers who were expecting it to be developed on. There are a few nods back to it now and then and Alice seems to have developed telekinetic abilities as well from no-where (no idea if that was ever used in any of the games having only played 1 of them). There is a lovely old school nod in homage back to the Hitchcock classic "The Birds" at one point during the movie. One scene doesn't quite ring true, where their attacked by the zombies in the container in Las Vegas. Now this is a well co-ordinated group who have clearly survived and held their own for a good long time against the zombies but here they are panicking, firing randomly and firing on automatic when ammunition is clearly in short supply. Le Domaine Les Pailles Resort

Advantages: Activies and fun for all ages and tastes!

As I briefly mentioned in one of my previous reviews, this is a humongous holiday resort which stretches out for miles and miles, and comprises of activities, fun and cuisine for every ages and tastes. It is situated at Pailles, a small town just a few minutes before Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius. Finding the road to Domaines Les Pailles turned out to be quite difficult because there is one specific corner road we had to turn into and we kept missing roads! But once we got into the road which would take us to the resort, it was as if we'd immediately been shut out of the real world. Review of Le Domaine Les Pailles, Port Louis

My les Paul Custom

Advantages: Looks Great, brilliant sutain, action, basically all of the features of the Gibson Les Paul

...is good enough, although it may look a bit arificial for some peoples tastes it is but a minor flaw. The split-diamond headstock design looks great, as do the golden tuners, pickups and bridge. Build Quality You can tell that the guitar has been carefully finished, only very few small painting errors here and there that are barely noticeable. The guitar itself is heavier than most other guitars, (if you are accustomed to Les Pauls you will know this, but it was a bit of a shock when upgrading from my Strat copy) and feels very sturdy. The neck is set perfectly, some cheaper copies fail in this reaspect and it is very important. The low action on the neck makes it a joy to play. I have gigged with this guitar and can tell you that it is one of the best non-floyd rose equipped guitars for staying in tune. This is because...
