The Ups and Downs of Staying at Pine Bay

Advantages: Good for families, excellent views and wide range of facilities
Disadvantages: Crowds of people, long meal queues, lots of hills and steps

...A group of us (aged 50 - mid-70s) were touring round western Turkey on a private tour and we were moved to the Pine Bay at the last minute when the hotel we should have been staying in developed problems with its air-conditioning and hot water systems. We were grateful for the move from that point of view, but the Pine Bay is not the sort of place any of us would have chosen for ourselves. It is a huge resort, primarily aimed at the "all-inclusive" market, with a fair smattering of time-share visitors as well. That said, the place occupies a lovely location (about 5km outside Kusadasi town) and is beautifully landscaped. ...I went to Lone Pine Koala Sancutary March this year and volunteered there for a month with the animals and LOVED it, it was a great experience!!!!!!! I LOVED working with the koalas it was a dream come true!!!!!!!!! One of my highlights was holding a koala, its a great place to get hands on experience with koalas and kangaroos!!!!!! You can feed the kangaroos in the Kangaroo Reserve. The Keepers at Lone Pine are really nice!!!!!! I'd definitely reccommend it to anyone who likes koalas. At Lone Pine they have the Southern Koala (which is different in colour to the Northern Koala). They do Koala talks (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) its a really good talk on koalas and you learn alot about them and their habitat....

...After looking around for highchair for my son, I decided on the Mothercare Pine Cube Chair. It was very reasonabley priced at just £39.99, and looked classic. It will last for 2 or 3 years as it changes from a highchair with a tray on a stand to a little table and chair for your toddler. I wanted something without cartoon characters or flowers. I also wasn't keen on the plastic ones, this is made of solid pine, it has a plastic tray. It comes in two parts, a table and a chair. The chair fits onto the table when turned sideways which gives you a highchair, then you can have the chair and tray alone, or remove the tray and seperate the chair and table and you have a little desk for your toddler.
