...this Pioneer CDJ-1000MK3. I am currently saving for one, and to anybody doing the same, I would like to stress that it will be the best purchase you ever make within the dj world. If you have not tried one yet, and think that the price is too steep for what it does, go to any decent dj equipment store and ask for a demo - you will love them! If it is still over your budget, definately look into the CMX-3000, also by Pioneer....

Pioneer CDJ200; best low budget CD deck

Advantages: Excellent effects

...Having used as friends CDJ200 and enjoyed it very much, I purchased one of my own. The unit looks very good and feels solid in construction. The best features are the looping facility and the ability to cut loops, cutting loops on the CD deck is a feature that the CDJ1000 DOESNT HAVE. The Effects (Jet, Zip and Wah) are good and produce the same result as the Pioneer efx 500 and DJM effects modules. The pitch adjustment is smooth and you can choose between +/-6,10,12% pitch, the pitch can be bent easily by the jog wheel, this takes a while to get used to as it is different to a standard turntable (1210) and not as dampered as the excellent jog wheel on a CDJ1000, this is acceptable as it is less than half the price. The ability to play MP3 format cd's is great as you can fit about 150 accapellas on one cd, excellent for easy access...

...There can be no doubt when I say that Pioneer own the DJ CD deck market. Like the Technics, the mighty CDJ range has become the standard install for many clubs and an essential buy for many DJs wishing to make the jump from analog to digital. When Pioneer released the original CDJ-1000 and subsequent 800, they ruled the roost, led the pack plus many other euphemisms meaning they pwned the scene. First impression

Advantages: Excellent features, easy to use, eye-catching

...This is the first such item I have got so forgive me if this isn't exhaustive, I will need to spen a few months using it but I thought I would let you know my first impressions. Hopefully it will help others decide to take the plunge. Before we start I would like to let people know how hard these are to get hold of. If you are looking for something to use this weekend, look elsewhere. I ordered mine in October and I got it mid February. This is not a problem with the place I got it from, it is a case of Pioneer can't make them quick enough. Once it arrived though it far surpassed my original idea of what it would be. These bad boys rock!

Advantages: More affordable than the 1000's with almost as much functionality
Disadvantages: doesn't have a moving platter - but i don't think you really need that!

A Pioneering Drive

Pioneer CMX-3000 Review

Advantages: Same functionality as CDJ-1000 but half the price
Disadvantages: None I have found

...I have owned the Pioneer CMX-3000 for almost two years now. My dilemma was that I wanted CD decks, but couldn't afford to spend £1,400 on a pair of CDJ-1000MKIII but still wanted the build quality and functions of a Pioneer unit. I believe I have found this with this unit. As well as having an auto cue, it has a built in loop function which basically acts as a sampler. Once loop points have been set it can then be saved into the bank memory of the unit, which is another great feature. From my extensive use of the unit, I can honestly say that I have never had any trouble with it, and I recommend it to any dj (being beginner, intermediate, or advanced). I believe that with this unit you are getting as much funtionality and build quality as the CDJ-1000 but at a snip of the price!...

...A month or so ago I purchased a new car, MK4 VW Golf 1.9 TDI. Not being brand new, I wanted to make some changes to make it feel more like mine. First thing I noticed was the out-dated sound system in the car. Despite being a 51 reg, it came with a tape deck of all things and a 6-disc CD changer. Ugly, boring and outdated. I wanted something a bit snazzier. I had seen other Golfs with single DIN units, meaning there was a horrible gap in the dash board. Opting for double-din was the only logical choice. Most double din units are expensive and incorporate a DVD player or sat nav of some sort. I wasn't after that, just something to play MP3 CD's and the radio.
