My Pioneer DVD player

Disadvantages: doesnt come with pioneer surround sound system!

...many other DVD players and a few combo's, to be honest nowadays they are all much of a muchness however i believe that pioneer are a cut above the rest. I would advise buyers to look into buying pioneer surround speakers (have a look on Amazon) for the total movie effect! Weighing in at 1.7kg this player is not going to cause a problem during installation. It is easy to connect and following the quick-connect guide you will be watching top quality playback in a matter of minutes. You can keep an exisiting VCR player if you wish, however this can make connection possible just ensure you have enough scart plug sockets before making a purchase. A list of compatiable formats cna be found on pioneers website however believe you me nearly all forms of DVD, VCD and CD can be played through this player. It is compatable with MP3, JPEG etc...

A Pioneering Drive

...the merits of each different type, but never the less I was concerned that I would find myself with an obsolete DVD recorder drive in a years time, (I am sad to say I was one of the few who bought a Betamax video!). This problem is made completely safe though with the Pioneer DVR ? 106 because the drive is multi format. This means that DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DVD+RW can all be used and written to with ease so compatibility worries disappear. Also worthy of note is that the DVR ? 106 is a CD-R and CD-RW recorder as well, this was particularly beneficial as far as I was concerned as my old CD-R drive was starting to show its age and one or two mistakes had started occurring during CD recording. ...A month or so ago I purchased a new car, MK4 VW Golf 1.9 TDI. Not being brand new, I wanted to make some changes to make it feel more like mine. First thing I noticed was the out-dated sound system in the car. Despite being a 51 reg, it came with a tape deck of all things and a 6-disc CD changer. Ugly, boring and outdated. I wanted something a bit snazzier. I had seen other Golfs with single DIN units, meaning there was a horrible gap in the dash board. Opting for double-din was the only logical choice. Pioneer DV-545 DVD Player

Advantages: Very slim design. Easy user interface and navigation. DTS output. 2 Scart Sockets. Plays CDR, DVDR, MP3 etc, etc.
Disadvantages: Remote control unit is bulky and not designed for this product.

...This DVD Player is the bees knees. It will play just about anything. The sound and picture quality are excellent. The user interface and navigation through the menu and submenu's is childs play. The unit is very slim, allowing it to fit into my existing Tv base unit ontop of my VCR. In addition to the DTS optical output it has 2 VCR sockets, which ensure easy integration into your existing Tv, VIDEO and SAT reciever setup. I am impressed with the standby mode which virtually switches the whole thing off, saving you a bit of electricity. The only poor part of this superb unit is the remote control.
