Canon Pixma IP4200
Review of Canon Pixma IP4200 by Tanziebob

Advantages: Quiet, fast, square, a paper tray plus a feeder and excellent prints.
Disadvantages: Slightly bigger than others of the same price range.

...My previous printer was a Canon i850 - not a bad little printer - but it gave up recently so I started shopping around for a replacement. I half-heartedly looked at other makes, but the price and quality of the Canon printers, together with the price of their cartridges, always drew me back to them. They have a large range that I considered - the IP4200 was the cheapest at around £60, then the IP5200 and I also considered the MP500, an "all-in-one" printer. The specs I looked at were: IP4200 - price around £60, resolution 9600x2400 at 1pl (picolitre - very fine drops of ink), DVD/CD direct printing, one paper tray and one paper feeder. IP5200 - price around £82 and everything else much the same as above, but it had two paper trays. MP500 - price around £120, printer the same as above, but with a scanner/copier working at 1200x2400... Read review

Printer suited for students!!
Review of Canon PIXMA IP1500 by ilocboy

Advantages: Small, Easy to move around!
Disadvantages: Slow printer if you print a lot!

...The Canon Pixma was the first printer I ever bought. I used it to print my school projects and mainly my report papers. It works great but not as fast as laser printers. Sometimes after you're done printing you have to wait a couple of seconds for the ink to dry out. The printer uses a standard canon ink cartridge, it's very small so you have to constantly change it every so often if you are always using it. I highly recommend a Laser printer if you need to print many documents and a laser printer is well suited in a fast-paced, working environment. But if you're just a student like I am you can use the Pixma IP1500, It does the job well. ALSO the Canon Pixma is also good for printing coloured photos, and envelopes, ETC. The Canon Pixma also comes with a printing software and photo editor. However you may have to purchase ADOBE... Read review

Best printer i've had yet!
Review of Canon PIXMA IP2000 by kate553

Advantages: Fast, quiet and great results
Disadvantages: None

...I deliberated long and hard over which printer to buy as the cost of the replacement cartridges is such a major factor. i didn't need a fancy printer, just one that could print out family snapshots and cope with the demands of two young children wanting to print out every piece of art work they do!! The Canon Pixma IP2000 meets all our needs and gives great quality too. It comes with a sample pack of photo paper which I used and the picture quality was second to none. The printer is extremely quiet so does not wake the whole house if you feel the need to print in the middle of the night!! A useful feature of the printer is that the front feed tray folds up and encloses the printer, there by protecting the inside from dust, and it is compact and very smart looking! Thoroughly recommend it!... Read review

great performer
Review of Canon Pixma iP4200 by benedictine

Advantages: individual ink tanks
Disadvantages: none

...This Canon Pixma iP4200 is the best printer I have ever owned, I have had Lexmark, HP and Epson printers in the past and been disappointed with them all for various reasons, when my last printer died, I went for this one, partly because of good reviews and partly for a new brand. The iP4200's silver plastic case feels solid and looks less boxy than other recent Canon models. Canon PIXMA iP4200 printer - Features The Canon PIXMA iP4200 is an advanced machine with impressive performance for small price, the Canon PIXMA iP4200 photo printer is priced at a level that will not break the bank. The iP4200 printer prints upto 9600 x 2400 dpi color resolution. Replacing the popular iP3000 and iP4000 models, the iP4200 model produces borderless photo lab quality 4x6-inch photos in approximately 60 seconds. The printer uses five individual... Read review

Excellent Value
Review of Canon PIXMA IP2000 by Neil2000

Advantages: Price, good quality printing, cheap cartidges
Disadvantages: None

...I purchased the Canon Pixma IP2000 printer 8 months ago when my old Canon printer expired. As a moderate home user, printing about 50 - 100 A4 pages per month and some 5 - 10 colour photographs, I was looking for a printer that gave good quality printing at a budget price with inexpensive replacement cartridges. After some online research I ordered the printer from Pixmania.com for £50 and the printer duly arrived 3 days later. The installation was easy and within a few minutes excellent prints were emerging. I have been delighted with the printer; which has produced higher quality printing than expected, including the photo prints. The speed has been fine, the printer is very easy to use and has worked perfectly over the last 8 months. The specification and prices are available elsewhere so I won't go through the details here... Read review

Excellent quality printing
Review of Canon PIXMA IP4200 by paperghost

Advantages: Printing Quality
Disadvantages: Noise

...We recently purchased this printer because the price was good and we basically needed one. We came across the Canon PIXMA iP4200 because it looked good and the price wasn't that bad either (about less than £70). At first glance, it has a sleek and neat design, plus, it isn't all too bulky either unlike our other one which is huge- for the canon, when you don't need to use it, you can simply shut the lids down which is good because it makes it more compact and prevents any dust and dirt from getting in and damaging the thing so the practicality and looks is a added bonus. Another great thing is there are two paper feed trays meaning you can put two different types of paper in (such as standard letter paper and photo paper) at the same time and select which one you want to use when you want to print. This saves all the hassle... Read review

Extremely happy with my Pixma iP4200
Review of Canon Pixma iP4200 by Rob099

Advantages: Good quality low price, with individual inks
Disadvantages: Just a bit bulky

...Decided to change over from Lexmark when my yellow ink ran out and it would cost more to buy ink than to replace the printer. Anyway I decided to go for the Canon based purely on the fact that it had individual ink cartridges at around £8.00 each. The Pixma iP4200 was the cheapest I could find and had quite an impressive spec, but I was a little dubious that such a cheap printer would perform well. Needn't have worried: Easy to set up if a little on the large side. Has two paper trays so you can have two types of paper in the printer at the same time (I keep photo paper in the bottom cassette and plain paper in the top feeder) Prints double sided documents just by selecting duplex printing in the properties dialog. Prints to CDs using the CD tray provided. Prints incredible quality photos on glossy photo paper. Ink seems reasonably... Read review
