Traveling Via Vias

Advantages: Lovely beach....the south of France, dahling
Disadvantages: Not much to do without a car

...If you want to bemuse a foreigner, send them to the bit of France from which I've just returned. Not satisfied with the usual 'one name per place' rule, you'll find references to the areas of Vias, Vias Plage and Vias sur Mer (on post cards, in brochures, on the internet) but, confusingly, only 2 different parts of town, the touristy end and the old French bit. ****** Travel We drove Manchester to Liverpool, flew Liverpool to Nimes, taxied to Nimes town centre, caught a train to Agde and then taxied to Vias Plage. Travelling days were long - in excess of 8 hours - but if you live in other parts of the UK, or are happy to pay a little more for your flights you can reduce the trip quite significantly by flying to Montpellier and then grabbing a cab from there. We chose the fun long way round instead, and paid £100 each...

Review of Vias Plage

La musique de la plage

Advantages: Soothing, laid back, top guitar and piano
Disadvantages: Some slightly weaker tracks

...evidence here. It's quite a quirky song overall, but it has a certain flow that can't be ignored. Superb combination of organ, piano, keyboards, and, of course, the classic Rea guitar. - Mississippi 'Bonus Track' according to the inlay, but it seems more like 'Track 13' to me! Not a bad track at all, especially the chorus, which has a certain uplifting feel to it. Hammond organ used in a more poppy way that usual, but this makes an excellent finish to the album. - Sur la plage est un bon artiste Overall, this is a great album ? it has one or two not as strong tracks ? but they're all generally listenable, and the good tracks are VERY good. Chris showing his talent again with some top guitar work, and the general chilled feel of the album is a refreshing change. Great!...

...Marseillen Plage is in the South of France, so by coach it took a very long time to get there. It is a great place. It has wondeful nightlife for those of a young age. It has loads of restaurants in the town, with such a wide variety of food it is very hard to choose what to eat. There are a lot of beautiful towns nearby, which make a great day out for the whole family. There are a lot of markets happening in the area, if that is your kind of thing, but it also has a perfect beach, for those lazy days of lying in the sun by the sea....

Planigo fiasco

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: Took money for a booking that never existed

...an additional night and keep the same apartment for the full 15 days. Full marks to Residence Veles Plage (the hotel we had "booked" through Planigo) and to Pierre-Vacances for helping us out of a tight spot casued by the negligence of Planigo. Planigo gave no apologies, and took weeks to pay us back for the for the booking we made, but they point blank refused to pay any of our other costs incurred through their failure, despite a determined effort on my part to get them to refund over £30 of phone charges and the extra cost of the P-V accommodation over that which we had booked. Planigo were rude, unhelpful and unprofessional and cost us a significant amount of money, not to mention stress. I cannot recommend them to anyone....

...I was camping in a small place called Marseeillan Plage and decided to walk along the beach to the nearby town of Agde. I passed a sign on the beach that said clothes need not be worn, now I am not a gynaecologist but I don?t mind looking into these things. So I proceeded with my clothes on onto this beach full of naked people then sat down took my clothes of and waited to see what developed. Nothing, being naked in the middle of a lot of naked people seemed natural the people walking by with clothes on were the odd ones out. Stroll along the nudist beach to the town and you find the whole community in the nude shopkeepers shoppers people driving cars people filling up cars in a garage, and you ain't seen nuttin ?til you?ve seen a 60 year old 20 stone woman riding a bike in the nude. I?m not converted to naturism but I?m glad I had...

...We have just returned from a perfect weekend in one of our favourite parts of France - Le Touquet. An hour’s drive from Calais (slightly less from the tunnel) finds you in a chic and elegant town. Le Touquet became popular at the turn of the century. It is also known as Paris-Plage, a beach resort for the Parisians. The advantage of portable Pro

Advantages: Portable Pro Evo, the ability to update database with ps2.
Disadvantages: Loading times, through balls and lack of L2 and R2 buttons

...cables is very usful, as i had already updated the database on my ps2 version of PES5 and this allowed me to update the psp version and not waste a large amount of time. I personally found multiplayer games very entertaining on the PSP. You get the feeling of plaging the computer whilst there is a friend playing there. just the thought that technology has advanced that far is another good thought. Generally i would suggest PES5 to every PSP owners, some patience may be required, but from all the ggames i have purchased PES5 is the best so far....

Having a great time, wish you were here..

Disadvantages: none

...for different age groups. There is also a swimming pool/water park type thing which is open to the public as well as residents, we didn't try this at all but my sister in-law's children did and they really enjoyed it, for residents it costs £1.25 for an hour (under 2's free), there are pictures of this pool on the website mentioned below. Also at the park are lots of pubs and bars a beer garden, 2 Tennis Courts, 2 Fishing Lakes, Surf Hire Shop, La Plage Boutique, Adventure Playground, Smuggler's Rest Beach Cafe & Gift Shop, Bike & Go-Cart Hire, Supermarket, End of the Pier Arcade, Chef's Corner Snackbar, Beach Bar and Bella's Kitchen Restaurant. Saying all this though we had totally forgotten about most of these things by the time we were on holiday and even though we were given all the information again once we had arrived we didn't read it...

...do in Cannes the attractions go from designer shops,the blooming flower Plage de laasinos park (east of Cannes) also very cose to the park if you feel like throwing a dice is the Casino there if you fancy your chances !! Or for a quiet night you can stroll around and look at the magnificent lines of yachts and boats that glimmer on to the sea all across the harbour. Local time GMT + 1 Currency Euros Nice Airport is approximatley 30 Minutes to Nice, Nice The Old Nice well known as Vieux Nice is a wonderful little village type place with winding small pretty lanes, full of your sweet ptisseries and fresh baked cakes and bread,you can also stop of and have a fresh coffee at the cafes there and try the famous Nicois dish that is served there, you will find many restaurants here so there is no shortage of choice...
