Plan on Sleeping Through It

...I have read most of Emily Barr's novels and each one is fresh and enjoyable and you think they can't get any better. However, having just read Plan B, they do get better and I was totally absorbed in this story from the moment I picked the book up! Emily Barr is such a good storyteller and she hooks you from the very start so that you don't want to stop reading. I found myself snatching odd moments in the day to pick this book up, and now that I've finished it I'm almost disappointed as I didn't want to stop reading. The main character in the book is Emma and over half of the story is told from her point of view and is written in the first person. ...Although we have somewhat moved onto pastures new (Noddy and Peppa Pig) when it comes to Harry's television viewing, Bob the Builder still remains a good faithful to plonk on for him when I desperately need to get on with the dinner and Harry's trying to "help" me. We have a small collection of Bob DVD'S courtesy of Harry's Nanny, and this is one he does like to watch pretty regularly, and I must say it is a fun watch, even for me who has seen it god knows how many times! ...Prior to actually watching the film all I knew about it was this - It was bad, it was low budget, it was by Ed Wood and the stuff I'd seen from the Johnny Depp Ed Wood film. Ignoring the film (which very faithfully reproduces sections of "Plan 9" very well and actually watching Plan 9 itself) I tried to watch this with as open a mind as I could manage. The original title of the movie "Grave Robbers From Outer Space" is used during Criswell's opening monologue. The effects are terrible (flying saucers are spray painted dishes on string), as is the use of lots of stock footage to save money on the effects budget. Wood as the editor pays no attention to any kind of continuity (watch the 2nd plane cabin scene and watch the Stewardess's clipboard moving all over the place). Anyone unfamiliar or simply not used to "roars" as opposed to "croons" in terms of vocal style will likely dismiss this record quickly unless they are of a particularly adventurous mindset. I was of a particularly adventurous mindset when I bought this record. It was probably that and my financial sacrifice in obtaining it that drove me to familiarise myself with the whole thing and not just the shocking Fix Your Face that opens the record. The first respite comes at the beginning of the third track Black Bubblegum with a moment's rest from the cacophony of the first two tracks. ...I started using and recommending Pet Plan 14 years ago. I'm a member of their Breeder Scheme. Now I'm concerned about their exclusion policy and attempts to wriggle out of paying for claims. My son has a problem with his dog - a Cavalier. He insured his puppy a couple of weeks after buying her. On her visit to the vet for vaccinations the vet dispensed some eye drops because she had a tiny discharge (very common in young puppies). She is now 2 years old and has a swelling on her right eye. The chances are that she has some kind of growth which is causing the eye ball to be pushed forward. The problem with Pet Plan is that they are refusing to pay for any diagnostic tests / treatment connected with her eye. The specialist vet is adamant that this is not a pre -existing condition.
