Being the kind of person who?s almost anal in their preparation for any holiday, I started scouting around for books to take with us months beforehand. This was one that I bought, I think from Waterstones, who had the best selection of travel books I could find. With only 64 pages, (three of which are the index) it?s not as bulky as the usual Lonely Planet guidebooks, but it?s specifically aimed at those driving down (or up) what is supposedly one of the most beautiful drives in the world - the wonderful Highway 1 in California. Disadvantages: but not exciting.

...them as part of a "healthy, active lifestyle" I will also mention that they contain traces of peanut and hazelnut so wont be suitable for those with nut allergies, they're also not suitable for the lactose intolerant. My pack of Planets cost 41p about the same as many of Mars other chocolate bars and packets, they're also available for Christmas in 108g tubes for £1. I thoroughly enjoyed the sweets and would happily buy them again, I like the fun aspect of not knowing what filling you're going to get, you may have just picked a tiny caramel sweet and think that by choosing a larger one you'll get a different flavour only to be greeted once again by caramel. The Planets maintain the same high quality taste as other Mars products and you certainly are not let down in that respect, the planets come across very much as the girls...

Pig's Planet

Planet beautiful.

Advantages: Absolutely stunning programme
Disadvantages: you might have missed it (it's not too late though)

...As I am writing this, it says at the top of the page 'Write a review of Planet Earth'. That does sound a little ambitious, so instead I will review Planet Earth, the programme. Last night, I watched the first instalment in this new series, and it was one of the best things I have seen on television, ever. I am a faithful audience for nature programmes, in particular the major ones done by David Attenborough, and I have always found the quality to be exceptional. But this was in a league of its own. ...Planet Terror is a spoof movie in the guise of the zombie flesh eating horror flick. It is a kind of tribute by Director Robert Rodriguez to all his favourite B-movies. The story is told of a small town whose inhabitants become infected by an experimental bio-nerve gas after it is accidentally released at a remote US military base in Texas. Those exposed to it become flesh eating, mutating zombies like creatures. The infection is further passed on by those unfortunate enough to get a nasty zombie bite. For some reason, the zombies seem to prefer sucking the brains out of their victims first? mm lovely. There is plenty of gore, fountains of blood and dripping flesh. It's the kind of film that I usually avoid or switch off after the first five minutes, but as it had Tarantino's name on the DVD case, I thought I'd take a chance...
