The .Audio 45 is lightweight with a very flexible headband, although it is a little on the flimsy side and not overly attractive. The speaker drivers are constructed from hard plastic and are covered by thin pads. As a result, they aren't very comfortable to wear. Seperate cables come down from both sides, increasing the chances of getting yourself in a tangle. This headset can be connected either by USB or standard analog connections. However, the microphone plug lacks colour coding, so you're forced to peer at the symbols on the connectors to find out which is which. this isn't too much of an issue, but it makes things more difficult when you're scrabbling about the back of your comnputer. Plantronics .Audio 45 Skype Bundle Headset

Advantages: lets you talk for free
Disadvantages: not the most comfortable / adjustable headphones

...- kind of like walkman headphones from 1988 - with an adjustable band depending on how bif your head is (!) - although the foam coverings on the earphones themselves could wear a little thin, but not to worry, I'll just replace them with foam covers "borrowed" from airline headphones next time I fly... Set up is very easy, it really is just plug and play - although this will clearly vary on whick VoIP system you use - I've used it with Skype (just go to Skype preferences and set the audio input and output to 'Plantronics Headset') as well as MSN's & Yahoo's systems with no problems. As far as I can tell, or in terms of comments I have had from people I've been Skype-ing with, voice quality at the other end is very good and the sound quality at this end is great too. Youcan also use the headset to listen to CD's, MP3's etc - just fold...

I use the Plantronics Vista M12e at work.....

Advantages: you can talk on the phone leaving your hands free...
Disadvantages: the cable /lead is too short....

...Let me just start by saying that I'm a receptionist and in my line of work it helps to have a system which allows you to have both your hands free because of the multiple tasks that need to be done all at once. The Plantronics Vista M12e system is useful to me because not only does it have receiver volume control and a transmit volume control but it also has a mute button which allows you to still hear the caller while also being able to speak briefly if needed to other people without interrupting the caller or putting them on hold. One of the things that annoy me about this system is the cable/lead that has the plug (which goes into the phone port) connected to it; I find that it is too short, this means that I can not move it out of the way thus I find myself always fighting with it. ...This is a very reasonable headset for the £40 paid for it. It can be used on both ears quite easily. This can be done by twisting the over-ear piece to accommodate which ear is preferred. The button configuration on the headset is convenient for both left and right handed people. I went for this headset because I bought a different Plantronics headset about a year ago and I could find no faults with it. So far, I can find no faults with the new 510. I find that the sound quality is extremely good, and it allows you to hear the conversation easily while driving along in the car. Also what I find very convenient is the additional cable that allows you to charge the headset in the car from a cigarette lighter. ...Plantronics Audio 90 Headset I bought this headset about a week ago after having some phenomenally bad luck with previous microphones and VoIP products. I wanted something that I could use with VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol - Skype is an example of this), that would leave my hands free, that had good sound quality and that would not cause a long time delay between my speaking and my voice being heard at the other end. Prior to this, I have tried two VoIP phones (the Skype Olympia Cordless (£75) and a desktop speakerphone (better but not perfect) (£25)) but they were both unsuitable - locked to Skype in the first case, and suffering from the time delay problem in the second. I will get to the details of this next. :: The Product :: A single headphone, boom microphone and headband make up the product. There is also an in-line remote control. It all feels really sturdy, not at all like a budget set. Plantronics is a a great brand, blending functionality with durability on all their devices. This one is no exception. Two connectors, a 3.5mm microphone and a 3.5mm heaphone jack. Some people would prefer a USB connection; but, to be perfectly honest, you can't beat the direct connection.
