We take plastic for granted these days with some many items made from it with some better quality than others & many plastics can be recycled. Plastic bags are usually made from polyethylene containing ethylene; the ethylene is derived from natural gas & petroleum. It wasn't until as late as 1977 when polyethylene was used in some forms of plastic grocery bags. The big change in how we utilise plastic grocery bags didn't start until 1982, when two of America's largest grocery companies Safeway & Kroger started replacing paper bags with more affordable plastic ones. A phone, not a pile of plastic bags

...Our Binatone cordless phone with built in answering machine was not a great success. When the batteries stopped working I could have replaced them but instead we decided to go looking for a better one. We found the BT Studio 3500 in ASDA for a little under £30 and took it home. BT should get a special mention for their excellent packaging. Normally when you buy a boxed electrical item you have to wade through loads of plastic wrap, sticky tape, tie wraps, and bags to get the item out. You are then stuck with a huge pile of polystyrene and plastic to get rid of. Purbeck District Council, in their wisdom, only empty our wheely bins fortnightly so excess packaging can be a real bind. This item was in a cardboard box, the spacers were card and instead of plastic there was tissue paper. Well done BT! Setting up...

...I love this idea, whoever thought this up is a genius. A lot of families have storage problems my main pain in the backside is lack of room for excess bedding that i keep spare for guests and what not, So this is magnificent, how the air can be sucked out of the bag with any pipe vacuum cleaner and reduce the size of package to less than a quarter of the size. Brilliant for duvets and pillows i might add and to top it all off it keeps all those bugs away and when you do unpack them they smell as good as the day you washed them and put the items in there. Excellent I would rate these to anybody you can even use them for going abroad and storing your much loved items and reducing space which we all know must happen when traveling on a plane think of the goodies you can bring back !!
