The place to be
Review of Cyclades (Greece) by
antras
Advantages: nice places
Disadvantages: Don't travel in August
...If you want to see the best part of Greece, that is the place to first visit. There are so many islands :Mykonos,Santorini,Paros,Antiparos,Naxos,Ios,Kalimnos,Milos etc.
The first one it should be Mykonos.Very busy during the summer plenty of night life and the sea is just fantastic.
Santorini:The volcanic island with the small roads and the archoelogical sites offers one off the most spectacular sceneries in the Cyclades. There are no cars or motorbikes just mules to travel you around.
Paros:Is the same story as Mykonos but bigger island.Nightlife great places to go around and very large population during the summer time....

one of the most well known in mykonos town
Review of Hotel Belvedere Mykonos, Mykonos by
demetrak
Advantages: luxurious, inside town centre, myconian/aegean views, excelent service, friendly stuff
Disadvantages: lots of rooms on the back with no views and too much traffic noise
...Although I've never stayed as a customer in Belvedere, I can easily give a review for this hotel as it's been lots of times that i visited friends who were staying there (and spent a couple of nights as a guest until I found a room for myself).
As you can see from my other reviews, for the past 14 years, i 've spent most of my holidays on mykonos island, I sometimes visit the island more than twice a year, so i think i can have a clear opinion about the most of its well known bussinesses.
Hotel Belvedere is a very well known bussiness in Mykonos. Most of the times you can meet celebrities staying there, as it offers stylish luxury and it is situated inside the town centre, in a small walking distance from the high standard bars clubs and restaurants.
It offers everything you could expect from a hotel in its category, minibar...

forever Mykonos
Review of Mykonos in general by
theo0221
Advantages: sea,sun,sand,sailing!,and lots of sex...honest
Disadvantages: expensive, crowded
...This review,at least,is mine 100%. It can be found in a couple of sites as well, but it's not my fault. Now you can decide if you want to read this op or not.
-If "Yes"...go on and happy reading.
-If "No" click back and rate me as "unhelpful" if you like
------------------------------------------------------------------
I apologize that I’ve putted my op about Mykonos under the section for general info about Greece, but I didn’t know that I could create a sub-category. Sorry again.
To call Mykonos a 'gay island' is like calling San Francisco a 'gay city'. Sure there are gay bars and homosexuality is not hidden, but unless you are looking for it you may not even notice it because above all, Mykonos is a destination for all types of people. From jet setters to college students and families, Mykonos is Greece's most well...

Personal island guide
Review of Cyclades (Greece) by
LoxleyLozenge
Advantages: Good for moving around
Disadvantages: Can be expensive
..., and quiet and expensive. Nice, nonetheless
Naxos- much friendlier than Paros, and half the price to stay in, with almost as many ferry connections
Ios vs Mykonos- 4/5 cats say Mykonos is better this year...

Venice in a heart of MYKONOS town
Review of Little Venice, Mykonos by
aero1977
Advantages: In a centre of Mykonos town with great sunset views
Disadvantages: None
...WOW where to start? Well, Mykonos is a very beautiful island like most of Cyclades islands.
Its very popular spot for gay and lesbians to go to.
I have been to Mykonos 2times and this July i am going again this time for 2 weeks as i am going to take ferry to Santorini for couple of nights.
But this review is about Little Venice so i am going to recommend nice place there.
Little Venice is a very short maybe 300 meters of buildings rising above the sea. Buildings look exactly the same like those in Italy otherwise it wouldn't be called Venice, right?
There is plenty of bars and restaurants from which you can look at sunset. This view is amazing and when the windows are open you can hear the waves crushing and you can get a bit wet sometimes.
There is one fantastic bar its called PIANO BAR you can not miss it, they serve the most...

This place is Heaven
Review of Paradise Beach, Mykonos by
em_sparkles
Advantages: FUN FUN FUN
Disadvantages: How could there be?
...Where do I start? This is one of my favourite places in the world.
Paradise Beach is a cool beach located on Mykonos. There are regular bus services from Mykonos town and it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to get there. You can also get a boat to the other beaches such as Super Paradise from here.
Down at the beach there is accommodation at Paradise Beach Camping if you choose to stay there also. The beach is 80% covered with sun loungers and umbrellas (cool straw - but solid) ones so there is no problem finding somewhere to sit. They do cost of course, cant remember how much exactly but it was pretty much on par with most places. The beach itself as in terms of water etc is ok but nothing fantastic. Yes, the water is clear and lovely but there are a few rocks just as you enter the water that kind of get in the way..
As you come...

MYKONOS - DESPERATELY SEEKING SHIRLEY
Review of Mykonos in general by
Reynarda
Advantages: Variety! Beaches, food, people - Greece!
Disadvantages: Very hot. Remembering HOW to deal with loo paper
...After experiencing another UK Summer, I was inspired to head for Mykonos! I was somewhat intimidated since Mykonos has a reputation for being a young person's place.
I flew EasyJet from Luton UK airport (my favourite airport) to Athens. It is a no-frills airline but even parking is simple (you can book it at the same time as you do your flight) and the airport is easy to get into and back out of! Then I transfered to Olympic for the flight to Mykonos. You can also take a ferry, instead, but it is about 5 or 6 hours on the ferry, versus less than an hour to fly there. And I wanted to hit the beach!
A friend's daughter was working at a nearby resort, so she found me a place to stay and it was unique! It was a traditional Greek cube style cottage, which had been carved into a hillside, so the interior had not only a stone floor...

Paradise island?
Review of Mykonos in general by
georgelowes
Advantages: Vibrant, relaxing, fun
Disadvantages: Mopeds...
...What's good?
Timeless charm (the windmills and sugarcube buildings are beautiful)
Hundreds of tiny boutiques
Loads of great little restaurants
Some brilliant beaches (St Stephanos is fantastic)
Crystal clear waters
An ecclectic mix of people
Cheap drink in the shops (1L of Ouzo = £2ish)
Glorious sunshine
Cooling breeze
Relaxed pace of life
What's not so good?
Mopeds of doom
Expensive drinks in bars
Expensive Clubs
Cooling breeze can get a bit strong and blustery at times
Until last year I had never heard of Mykonos, but when one of my best mates went out there to spend the summer with his boyfriend, I decided it would be a good plan to go there for my annual summer holiday. Thankfully my girlfriend agreed to the plan...
Further reseach on the island prior to departure revealed that Mykonos is seen primarily as a "gay" resort...

5 Loaves and 2 fish, novice guide to tropical fish
Review of Tropical Fish Care by
skrg28
Advantages: Good fun, fish nice to look at, lots more fish to look at
Disadvantages: Gets expensive depending on how many fish you have
...INTRO
I decided to offer my knowledge so far on tropical fish keeping and in particular on keeping Platy fish.
Now my wife and I started keeping tropical fish about 18 months ago, really an effort to spice up the lounge with a tank that was the same colour as the TV…..
NOVICE FISH KEEPING
So we went out as a good fish novice does and purchased a nice little silver tank and stand for a small and reasonable £79 for the entire kit. Again as good novices we purchased as many fish of different types as we could get in to a small tank.
Well a week went by, and we learnt our first lesson. When you buy a new tank you need to give it about a week, depending on the size for the water to settle and stabilise. Knowing everything we didn't bother and as a result our group of 4 zebra tetra fish decided to have a suicide pact and we were left...

feeding frenzy
Review of Freeze Dried Brine Shrimp by
Bluegiraffe
Advantages: fish love it, suitable for most fish, easy to store
Disadvantages: smells a bit!
...I first saw this product in my local fish shop when I bought my first few fish for my tank. As it was only cheap, I thought I would pick it up as a supplemental foodstuff to the flake I was already intending to feed them. I was so pleased that I did! My fish absolutely love it!
The food itself comes in a small cardboard box, with a small, resealable plastic bag inside. As the food is freeze dried, there is no need to keep it in the fridge (which is great as it smells a bit) it just needs to be cool and dry. I keep mine in the cabinet under the tank. The shrimp are processed and compressed into small brown cube. I generally use around a third to a half of a cube for feeding, so it lasts us a while. I break a piece off, as its a soft squashy form, and I use it to hand feed my guppies, Platies and danios. They all love...
