...a dozen top tenners ,the unheard of but unforgettabe "Baby its you" sounding like a note perfect cover version of a song thet never existed provided the agenda for most of the first album included here ,and the nearly hit "Wonderful"with its flutes and strings still sounds fresh and innocent,and innocent being a perfect adjective to describe this enjoyable experience . Genesis - The Platinum Collection

Advantages: Huge collection of the very best of Genesis from all eras.
Disadvantages: None that spring to mind

...I'm 17 - yet my favourite band is Genesis.... Strange that, not many 17 year olds know about this great band. If they do, they?re most likely to not admit it because they?re embarrassed about their knowledge. The wonders of the human psyche. Another strange thing is, I like all three eras of Genesis, whereas most only like one particular era, usually that of Gabriel or Collins. I was slightly confused at first, when hearing both Peter Gabriel and Ray Wilson singing, as I was introduced to them by a Phil Collins track. The way I see it, there are three eras in Genesis? history. This album, aptly named ?Platinum Collection?, covers all three of them in some form or another. Era 1, the Peter Gabriel years is covered on Disc 3. Don?t be fooled by the short track list, for the songs are nice and long. They?re not half bad...

Queen Platinum Collection

Advantages: 51 songs of quality
Disadvantages: none

...Love them or hate them Queen will always be a group that will stay in the memory of our generation,simply because their success throughout the years has echoed around discos and parties when we were younger,karaoke machines nationwide or stealing the show at live aid some twenty odd years ago.you know that you could always name a Queen track if asked to do so.I am writing this review with an open mind and having played this cd many times this is my opinion. May i point out that this review is for the platinum collection that was released in 2000 then re-released in 2006 with the new cd cover in a platinum coloured cardboard sleeve.There is no difference to the content of the cd's THE PACKAGING........ A silver coloured 3 cd set with the three greatest hits albums displayed on the front with the simple Queen name above...

is this worth being called a platinum collection??

Advantages: 2 CDs - bought it cheap from ebay - lots of songs
Disadvantages: had most of the songs anyway!

...long!!....... anyway - overall i have to say that even though there are a few really good songs on this album - they are mainly really old songs and nothing new and fresh - i know it is a platinum collection but there aren't any of the classics of RnB that i would choose to put on a collection like this.. most of the song lyrics are lovey dovey which is good if you like that sort of thing but sometimes i think RnB should be more uplifting and not all about being in love & relationships.. i would not recommend anyone to buy this - u probably have all the songs anyway & even if you dont - they are not the best songs that the artists that are featured on this album have released.. thanks for reading - hope this review helped anyone who was thinkin of getting this.. Advantages: Good set of Queen standards
Disadvantages: not a complete collection

...QUEEN : The Platinum Collection consists of the three Queen Greatest Hits retrospective albums packed together on one package, in a jewel case with a slipcase, and a 48 pg booklet which pertains for each of the albums' liner notes. Mainly consisting of this legendary act's singles, this particular (yours truly) would rather prefer taking on the whole complete catalog of Queen albums, most of which are now released/re-issued with bonus tracks. However, if you prefer having a good doze of the band in your library collection - this item would do enough as a must. If you have individual copies for each of the retrospective albums -- you would find certain features in it that are quite altered within the package. Such charachteristics are touched within the following overview for each of the discs as follows...

The point and the princliple being the same - I've bought every other Roxy Music album to date, every Bryan Ferry album, plus some from fellow Roxy members Phil Manzanera & Andy MacKay. Pokemon Platinum - Platinum Quality

Advantages: Great graphics and longevity. Online capabilities are excelent. A very fun game.
Disadvantages: Battling gets monotonous after a while; Not worth getting if you have Diamond/Pearl already

...For any fan of the pokemon series, Pokemon Platinum is an amazing and brilliant game to own. This game is the third installment to the games Pokemon Diamond and Pearl and has many more features. The storyline is similar to the other two games and to every other pokemon game which is to fight through a building filled with trainers from an evil organisation. The battles here are monotonous and not very difficult to win. This aside, the game is brilliant in terms of gameplay with many pokemon to catch and a lot of legendary pokemon to keep you busy trying to get them. Even after the game is beaten there is a lot to do, train pokemon, catch them all, battle with friends, it could never end. The graphics of this game are stunning. The Nintendo DS' 3D capabilities are really put to good use everywhere in the game and for a handheld game...

Advantages: Some all time classics songs
Disadvantages: Format seems out of kilter to me

...The Platinum Collection from Genesis is a three CD boxed set of all their best songs. It's really the story of Genesis told backwards. The third CD ends with their first ever release and the first CD begins with their last hit before they stopped recording. It's really quite hard to review this CD, as its 40 odd songs long and takes about 4 hours to listen to properly, and a track by track analysis would take forever to write and be extremely tedious to read. Pokémon Platinum Shines Better Than Diamond

Advantages: Longevity, fun, depth, better than previous installments and Diamond and Pearl
Disadvantages: I can't put it down, maybe not for those already with Diamond or Pearl

...like older games, but the story line here is constructed a lot better, and thanks to some pre-set events it adds the most drama I've seen in a Pokémon game, to really draw you in, making it a really high class game. Of course if battling isn't your favourite thing, then there is of course the collecting and raising aspect to Pokémon. Now with so many Pokémon to catch you can spend ages trying to find them all, even if you've completed the game. There are rarer Pokémon to really keep you searching until you find them all! If you still have the Pokémon Game Boy Advanced game, you may wish to know there is a feature to transfer Pokémon (albeit permanently) from these games into the Platinum DS game using the extra slot.
