Playstation 3: Next-Gen capable?

Advantages: Eye-Candy. Visuals and Sound are stunning. Ease of option navigation. Downloadable classics.
Disadvantages: A bit pricy. Kinda heavy to carry about.

...I try not to sound like a fanboy when talking to my peers about Sony's new, Next Generation Console. But sometimes i find it hard not to. While it has been out for almost two years now, it still manages to make me smile at its robust capabilities. The Playstation 3, while not the cheapest of the newer game consoles, certainly provides some quality for its price: For starters, in my opinion, it is very sleek and stylish looking when viewed from afar or up close. Two buttons on the front give you the basic functions of ejecting the disc and turning it on and off. No tray required for this bad boy, as it uses rollers to accept the disc inside. A fitting end to Resident Evil on the PlayStation

Decent dance mat for use with Playstation DDR games

Advantages: Allows you to play fantastic dance mat games, good value for a sturdy mat
Disadvantages: Can creep across the floor - needs better underside, different to arcade machine DDR

...Dance mat games are a great way to exercise , and are very satisfying as you go up through to difficulty levels, improve mentally and physically. The game is also great fun in small parties and gatherings, where there are plenty of songs that a beginner can complete. A fabric dance mat is the basic requirement for plying these dance games on the playstation one and the PS2.t I got a Logic 3 dance mat bundled with my first DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) game, and really enjoyed playing it. The game was similar to the DDR arcade games (with none of the long steps where you have to stay on the pad), and this suited the Logic 3 mat well. ...This is a good little addition to the playstation 3 acessories collection. This camera/microphone is probably the best one out for the playstation at the moment. The camera boasts great features such as voice recognition microphone which in my personal opinion is spot on! it filters out uneccesary noises (dog, hoover,fridgefreezer) and is great because there is no echo in game. The main disadvantage of the voice recognition is the fact that you can only use it when you are in a quiet environment with nobody there as it will pick up on any conversation in and out of the room. As for the camera its zoom and auto focus make it very easy to use however the zoom is manual and only has two settings either really close or really far away. (depending on room size and position) The camera is fully interactive with compatible playstion eye games...

...I owned a Playstation when they were new, I didn't buy mine right away though. Instead I was sensible and waited for a 1st then 2nd price drop when I bought mine in 1996. New games were still being released pretty much every week so you had a huge choice. I've had my current Playstation for over 8 years now having bought it off Ebay with a few games, a memory card and an extra controller for under £30. It was slightly damaged (the aerial input wire is a bit loose) but it works fine with a bit of tape to keep it in place. Games are easy to come by and just keep getting cheaper & cheaper. Extras memory cards & controllers are also still cheap and will work if you ever decide to upgrade to a PS2. I had heard a lot of positive things about the Xbox, and I had also heard that graphics wise and gaming wise the Xbox was slightly better than the Playstation 3.
