...~*~TENERIFE~*~ My friend took me to Tenerife, playa de las Americas after she went on holiday there and ended up spending the summer of 2005 there. We stayed for 1 week in june2006. Then june2007 i packed my bags and off i went to work in tenerife until augest2007. Tenerife is a Spanish island it's the largest of the canary islands, it sits just off the coast of North Africa which means it can get very hot, Tenerife has great weather all year round so you can visit any time which makes Tenerife very popular. Most of the beaches in Tenerife are man made beaches with golden sand which came all the way from Africa there are still a few black sand beaches around the coastline due to Tenerife being a volcanic island although they look great they will burn your feet so stick to the man made ones For any information on whats going...

Playa De Las Americas

Advantages: Weather... but you can't rely on that

...A group of 11 friends & I (all in the age group of 17-21) went to Playa De Las Americas during July 2000. This one holiday has changed my entire opinion on 'clubbing' holidays. The question is what should you expect for £350 per person for one week? All will be explained.... We're all young, stupid, straped for cash & up for a laugh. Our first mistake was booking through Travel Choice in Camberley. The 'not so bright' travel agent told us that for cheap drinks & good clubs Tenerife was perfect. We'd all watched Tenerife uncovered and thought what a laugh it looks, so we went for it signed on the dotted line. Travel Choice kindly took £350 from each of us and then we waited in excitement for the time to come. When the time came we got on our 4 1/2 hour flight from Gatwick. An Insiders Guide to Playa De las Americas!!

Advantages: Sun, sand relaxing by the pool!
Disadvantages: Commercial and very touristy

...Last summer I worked as an entertainer in Tenerife after 7 months I now know a lot about this holiday resort yet it has only just occurred to me to write a review about it. I was based in Playa de Las Americas, at the South of the Island, famous for ?Veronica?s Strip?, the main street in the heart of the resort full of pubs and clubs. I am not going to paint you an unrealistic picture, if you ant to go somewhere attractive, lush and green I suggest you stay in the North of the Island perhaps on Puerto Della Cruse. Playa De Las Americas is aimed for the young, I would advise families to stay in a hotel just out side perhaps in Torviscas or Los Cristianos it will be a lot quieter in evenings but close enough to sight see in the day and to go for a pleasant evening meal. Advantages: Variety of music, easily accesible, cheap drinks.
Disadvantages: most popular club so very busy. gets a bit hectic at times.

...'t have a dress code and the legal age is 18. Pretty similar to that of the UK clubs however they only had bouncers hanging around after about 2pm so they didn't seem to be that strict. But I did see them get rid of a bit of riff-raff every now and again. It is one of the latest opening clubs usually staying open until 6am and as most of the other bars shut around 4am Tramps becomes the place to be at about 3am if you can stay awake that long! Disadvantages: 18-30's clubbers, street sellars and touts etc

...keep your mouth closed. the dolphin show is included in your entry and quite good if you like that kind of thing. one no-no - don't bother with tenerife zoo. it's out in the sticks and not very impressive. we didn't visit loro parc but have since heard that it is much better then the tenerife zoo. the best resturaunts are of the waterfront stretch - can't beat eating a 450 pesata (yes - less than £2) three courser, whilst looking out to sea. the food was suprisingly good for the cheap prices. of course, it will all be euros now so i don't know how that's effected the prices. the main bugbear with playa is the droves of 18-30's clubbers that you encounter of an evening. now i'm no bore - i'm only 20 and my partner and I enjoy a drink and music as much as anyone - but these people really started to get on my tits. they're 100 x louder...

...well yes i would love to go as my parents asked if i would like to go to tenerife.It was 10 years since i had last been anyway so i jumped at the chance.Being of 26years old i thought id take along a friend. ARRIVAL AT TENERIFE AIRPORT wow i thought it is so hot,and it was i could'nt believe it,as it was october,anyway the airport is not very organised but that does'nt really matter you're in tenerife i thought. APARTMENTS ORO BLANCO these apartments were ideal yes they were basic but clean.They were situated about 10mins walk from veronicas,which was fine as there was lots of shops to visit on the walk down. THE BEACH ok fair enough the beaches are'nt the best but they are passable,the best beach around the area is the one in los cristianos which is easy to get to,and is a very pleasent walk along the prom.Be careful in...

...this is by far one of the best hotels i have stayed in in tenerife, it was so good i have been three times this year, all inclusive is the best way to go with this hotel as it has so much to offer in the range of food, we have stayed all inclusive three times now and never get bored of the variety of food on offer. hotel has three swimming pools which at most times of the year are absaloutley freezing, for a couple of months between october and january one of the pools is heated but is usually filled to the brim with children. Hotel has fantastic entertainment every night for children and adults at least two shows every night and a childrens club to keep them entertained most of the day, other activities such as water polo bingo archery and riffle shooting take place around the pool during the day to keep everyone entertained. if...

...This is a lovely hotel. One of many on this Island. I wanted to let you know what I thought about it. I am in the Travel Industry so can be quite critical. Well here goes - ***********LOCATION*********** The hotel is only 15 Km from Tenerife Sur Airport making the transfer quite short. This was great after a 4 hour flight !!! This hotel is on Playa de las Américas beach, right next to the sea and there is direct access to the ocean promenade. I loved the way it is surrounded by beautiful gardens.
