...Lagotel Hotel- Alcudia, Majorca Flight 2 hours from Cardiff to Palma, with first choice passed by quickly thank-goodness not a flyer! Transfer This took approx 50 minutes. Resort On arrival check-in was efficient and staff polite but a little stern looking. The hotel is outside Alcudia in Playa De Muro but the buses are regular and cheap to the strip. The hotel as a courtesy bus to the beach, which is lovely, shallow and white sand and ample sun beds and umbrellas. Playa de San Juan - An excellent hotel

Advantages: Friendly staff, lovely pool, clean room
Disadvantages: Dynamic currency conversion on our room costs paid by debit card

...We chose to visit the Holiday Inn Alicante Playa de San Juan for a week in July after having three very pleasant stays in Express by Holiday Inns in the UK. We were not sure what to expect in terms of quality, however it was probably one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed in. The cost was ?94 per night for an en suite room with king size bed and an ?almost double? sofa bed. The room was on the third floor of the hotel and had a view of another apartment block to the rear of the hotel. However, this did not cause any problems as the apartments were quite a distance from the hotel, therefore not blocking the panoramic view. THE HOTEL The hotel building is over 7 floors: the ground floor, floors 1 to 5 and a floor called '-1'. If you are given a room on the '-1' floor, don't think that they are shoving you in...

Alcudia - Playa de Muro and the Port of Alcudia

Advantages: Beautiful beaches, resorts for all ages!
Disadvantages: Can't think of any!

...What can I say! Mallorca has many beautiful resorts that cater for all different tastes and age groups. We have two children aged 7 and 14 and have always found Alcudia to be the best to suit their needs as well as ours. Alcudia is North of the Island and stretches along a long coastal road. At one end is the busy Port of Alcudia (the main area) and the other end of the road (about 3-4 stops on the local bus) is the area known as Playa de Muro or Las Gaviotas. The first time we went to Alcudia we stayed in the busy Port area where all the action is. We stayed at the Lagoon Centre apartments which were clean and really nice. Friendly staff. Our children were aged 2 and 9 at the time and although there wasn't that much for a 2 year old there was plenty for the 9 year old. There are numerous bars in the Port area and it...

It could have been anyone singing on here the beat would have won the battle. Torviscas Playa is Top!

Advantages: Great location, Near beach, Attentive & happy staff and good food.
Disadvantages: Cold Pool, Built up Area, Noisy Road, Dinner gets packed

...We have just returned from the Torviscas Playa (September 2007). On first impressions, I wasn't sure as the building looking like it needed a little paint. However, once inside the hotel is clean and well kept with shiny marble floors everywhere. The Reception staff are efficient and really friendly. On arrival the Hotel supplies a small token orange drink, which we thought was a nice touch. The Hotel is in Costa Adeje and is very near to shops, bars, restaurants and a pharmacist. Playa das Americas is not that far away but you would need a taxi. There is even a Pharmacist across the road. Its very close to the beach and there are steps from the hotel, so not good for prams but you can get to the beach another way, which takes an extra 5mins. Menorca/Minorca♥ I thought that, in order to talk about the resort, Sa Caleta Playa I would need to just brief you on the island. Minorca is a small island and it?s one of the Balearics. Its neighbour is Majorca but it is nothing like Majorca. You can drive around Minorca in a day because it is so small. A Gem of a Resort

Advantages: Family friendly resort with a lovely Blue Flag beach
Disadvantages: Not suited for those looking for all night clubbing!

...Playa de la Arena (or 'Arena Beach' in English) is a small resort 45km (approximately 40 minutes by car) away from the Reina Sofia Airport on the island of Tenerife. As I have said in a previous post, I have been spending my summers in Tenerife for the last 11 years, but I have been visiting for two or three weeks at a time for nearly 20. The reason is that I have family out there who live in Playa de la Arena. The first thing to mention about this lovely little place is that it really is not for those die-hard clubbers who want loud, late music. Las Americas is more likely to suit your tastes. Tabourente playa la palma. lovely hotel..... thats about it!

Advantages: incredibly clean, lots of room for guests, good VFM
Disadvantages: not alot to do

...there is a neighbouring hotel also in the H10 group, a small gift shop, a Spar supermarket and a scuba diving store. If you walked out of the hotel, to the left and carried on past the pharmacy, you will come to a bar called Tasca Alavasca which provided good evening drinks and a nice meal, wasnt too expensive either. If you go out the hotel, take a right, then first right you will come to a beach bar called Lambada, again really nice bar, reasonably priced drinks but we found that thats all there was to do on the island, Thompson do offer excursions around the island but its mainly tours consisting of looking at the country side and a whale watch with me needing leg opperation i couldnt really do anything but i did try out the 'roque de los muchachos' trip which is very highly recommended! In conclusion, the H10 Tabourente playa is a lovely...
