Summer sun at the Playa!
Advantages: Staff, cleanliness, rooms, food etc
Disadvantages: n/a
...If there's one thing I looked forward to all year, its a summer holiday. We try out best to make sure we go away every summer, and to date we haven't had very many bad experiences with the hotels we have picked.
Last year, our choice of Holiday was to Tenerife. We booked our holiday at the very last minute. We were due to fly on July 6th, and at the beginning of April, we went into the travel agents and booked.
Our choice of hotel, was the Iberostar Torviscas Playa, Costa Adeje, Tenerife.
**
Travel Agents Recommendation/Booking.
We started browsing through brochures and searching online for a summer holiday in around January. We came to the agreement that Tenerife would be our choice of hotel. We studied the prices in the brochures and haggled online, however although the offers online looked very good value for money, we...

Hotel Noelia Sur, Tenerife
Advantages: Quality, Family Friendly Hotel
Disadvantages: Non really, just needs to sort out the sunbed situation
....50 for a set of headphones. TIP---take two sets of personal stereo headphones and place the jack plugs in each socket, you will then have 1 working earphone from each set to go in each ear.
The package holiday is comming to a close as they are out pricing themselves, this is why it is cheeper to book the flights and the hotel on-line or through a travel agent saving loads. I paid around £1800 for the flights, and the hotel with breakfast and dinner included. This was for two rooms, consisting of a family of 4 adults and an 8 year old. There are plenty of places in Tenerife south airport to hire a car for around £140.00 for the week, and the fuel is around 80p per litre.
We opted for a cab costing 21 Euros (£14.00) for the tewnty minuite ride into Playa De Las Americas.
This avoided looking for a rep, sat on a hot, stuffy coach untill everyone...

Top class hotel
Advantages: Beautiful Hotel, Close to Las Americas, but still far enough away
Disadvantages: Lack of sunbeds
...Spring 2004 my boyfriend and I were deciding where we would like to go for out summer holiday, and after a bit of research into what various places had to offer, we decided to go to Tenerife. We didn't really want to go to Playa De Las Americas, as I've heard that it's a clubbers paradise (not really for me anymore) and my boyfriend had been before and wasn't too keen on it himself. But when we found the Iberostar Bouganville Playa, a hotel that my boyfriend had seen in the flesh, at a good price, we couldn't resist. So there and then, we booked it for early June.
We landed in Tenerife quite late, around about 1am, so we were quite tired. We had a pleasant transfer to the resort and arrived at the Bouganville at about 3 am.

The perfect hotel for a relaxing holiday
Advantages: Beautiful Hotel
Disadvantages: None
...I have recently returned from a week at the Dunas Paraiso hotel in Playa Paraiso, Tenerife. Our holiday was a last minute decision at the end on February this year and booked on the spur of the moment so I hadn't read any reviews at the time of booking. I got a shock when I did get around to reading some and heard all of the criticisms about the food, staff, location etc.
I was dreading the holiday by the time we arrived.
After a fairly long journey from Birmingham, myself, Mum, Auntie and my two year old daughter arrived in Tenerife and were pleasantly surprised that it only took 20 minutes to travel from the airport to the hotel. When we walked into the reception area we were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff and pleased to see a mini-market and gift shops.
The room itself was more like a villa. There was a main...

Excellent hotel and facilities
Advantages: Lovely hotel in a nice area
Disadvantages: Could possibly have better evening entertainment
...a week.
There are plenty of activities for both children and adults in the day. The animacion team are really friendly and try to involve people in activities but are not a all pushy if you don't want to take part.
They do rifle shooting, darts and other competitions and give out medals for winners.
The evening entertainment mainly consists of the animacion team doing shows, with a couple of evenings of african dancing and magic acts. Although it was not to my taste, plenty of people enjoyed it. I would have liked to have seen more singers and groups.
Although there are children there it was not rowdy or overcrowded and was a nice relaxing holiday.
Surrounding area is pleasant in the Torviscas area, well away from the hustle and bustle of playa de las americas. The hotel is right by the promenade and a stones throw from the beach. In...

Club Paraiso Hotel Review
Advantages: 3 Pools, 2 bars, close to nightlife, good entertainment
Disadvantages: not great if your looking for a quiet holiday
...the 'chill out' pool, the music is alot quieter and laid back, for those wanting a bit of quiet time, there is also a bar for snacks and drinks near by.
THE REPS
One of the only things I was unimpressed with, we had a few run ins with the Reps, where we found them to be very unhelpful, they are a fun loving bunch, but not very useful in a crisis!
OTHER INFO
All food and drink needs to be purchased on a swipe card, given on check in, this is a bit of a pain, as you have to keep putting money on your card, and sometimes you loose track of what you've spent so some pople worried it might me a con. The food and drink from the bar is also quite pricey and I would suggest you go outside the hotel to eat.
There is a supermarket, just outside the Paraiso, with everything you could need, lots of cheap water, lilo's, snacks and most...

Torviscas Playa is Top!
Advantages: Great location, Near beach, Attentive & happy staff and good food.
Disadvantages: Cold Pool, Built up Area, Noisy Road, Dinner gets packed
...We have just returned from the Torviscas Playa (September 2007). On first impressions, I wasn't sure as the building looking like it needed a little paint. However, once inside the hotel is clean and well kept with shiny marble floors everywhere. The Reception staff are efficient and really friendly. On arrival the Hotel supplies a small token orange drink, which we thought was a nice touch. The Hotel is in Costa Adeje and is very near to shops, bars, restaurants and a pharmacist. Playa das Americas is not that far away but you would need a taxi. There is even a Pharmacist across the road. Its very close to the beach and there are steps from the hotel, so not good for prams but you can get to the beach another way, which takes an extra 5mins. The Reception and bar area on the ground floor is very spacious with comfortable sofas...

How To Feel British In Spain
Advantages: modern, well-eqipped hotel, near the beach
Disadvantages: no good lamps beside the beds
...When we arrived at the Hotel Turquesa Playa in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, Spain, it was already pitch dark. Had it not been for the palm trees we had seen on the way from the airport and the warm breeze we had felt, we could have landed in a hotel in Margate or Brighton, we heard only English! Groups of elderly British ladies and gentlemen were toing and froing in the lobby or sitting together playing cards, drinking, smoking, chatting, laughing, we thought we had gate-crashed an OAPs´ party.
You think I should get going and describe the hotel proper instead of the guests? Well, I think if you stay in a place for, say, two weeks, it´s not unimportant who you stay with and meet continuously, is it?
The hotel has 350 double rooms, i.e., when there´s full house, there are 700 guests. In the winter season, that is from November to...

Fiesta Paraiso Floral, Playa Paraiso
Advantages: Hot, cheap and family friendly
Disadvantages: Timeshare
...I've just returned from 2 glorious weeks in Tenerife.
This was the first time my family had even considered it as a holiday destination. People we had spoken to had given us the impression that it was the Canaries answer to Blackpool. Not our cup of tea.
So what swung it for us? The price.
Now that my daughter is 15 we are finding it more and more difficult to find holidays where we can get her free in anything other than self caterering. As we have gone all inclusive for the last couple of years this has spoilt us. So I searched the NET and found two all inclusive hotel, Paraiso Floral, in Tenerife and the El Greco in Ibiza.
As we had been to the El Greco last year we decided on the Paraiso Floral. What a great decision!
We arrived at 9pm to be met by the extremely helpful and friendly reception staff. Nothing was...

Hotel Paradise Park, Tenerife - Great Base
Advantages: Good food
Disadvantages: Mega Hill
...matter where you stay as far as that goes.
***********SUITABILITY***********
I would say the hotel is more suited to adults and off season thevast majority of people on the complex seem to be over 60.
**************ENTERTAINMENT****************
I liked the entertainment but it really didn't start until late at night, but the shows are good quality. Nothing out of the ordinary, the standard singing acts that you get in any hotel.
***********RESORT**********
I would recommend Los Cristianos more as a starting point to explore the Island, or for those wanting to relax more around their hotel. It really does not have enough in the way of shopping to keep you occupied for 2 weeks !!! You can go into Playa De Las Americas, which costs about 5 Euro each way in a taxi. If you want to go on up to Torviscas it will cost about another 8...
