Acer plays the Ace card again!

Advantages: Small, lightweight, great performer. Can handle some 3D games.
Disadvantages: None for the Netbook, but Linux version is rubbish.

...need and unplug the external CD drive. Features Contrary to some previous reviews I have to say the A150 is quite a performer. Others may be trying to compare it with a £1000 laptop or their desktop computer which is just plain stupid. It isn't designed to be a powebook, its name depicts its intended function, "Netbook". If you want more then don't buy a Netbook and complain you can't edit video on it or something as crazy. Installed memory is 1GB and the Hard drive is 120GB. There are different variations of this Netbook but the best value for money is the one I'm reviewing. The A150 comes equipped with 3 USB ports, two on the right side and one on the left. There is a card reader which reads most flash cards including the newer high speed ones, in my case the XD "H" type. There's a VGA port for hooking up to an external...

Playing online, the future is now

Advantages: Great service, vast depth, cheap, easy to use
Disadvantages: Can be a waste of money if your internet is poor, it is pre-paid...it is paid

...the next one won't even load? Oh well back to Mario Kart. A purchase of a 360 a few months later and many comments on how every one should Xbox live lead me to getting a 12 months gold membership for £35 (the catch was that I'd need to buy a wireless adapter for a further £35, but it was pay day, an easy excuse to spending money as soon as I got it). The subscription comes in the form of a scratch card with a code to enter on the set up screens when you've connected your console to the internet (not always an easy task) and viola you just need to make your account. Now you may look at the price and hmm and ooh and ahhh about it, but it's less than £3 a month, or less than £1 a week, or less than 10p a day. Though it must also be said that Nintendo's online services are free to play and you only pay for downloads such as Virtual Console...

Wii Play

Advantages: See Review
Disadvantages: See Review

...Wii Play: I recently hired Wii play from Tesco DVD Rentals to see if I liked it before buying it and I enjoyed it a lot so I thought I would review it for all of you. Wii Play is the kind of game that is great for when you have a group of friends around with several different mini-games to play. There is a multi-player function allowing for two people to play at once. Because the games are short, (a minute or so max), you can all take it turns to play without anyone getting bored whilst still allowing enough time for toilet/cuppa breaks. There are seven different mini-games on Wii Play and these are: Shooting Range: This is my favourite game and it involves shooting at various moving targets. There are five levels each with a different type of target each getting steadily more difficult. There are balloons, cans, targets, clay...

Nectar Card

Advantages: Lots of retailers to collect with
Disadvantages: Online points may not equal amount of cashback available elsewhere

...spend. To be honest I prefer to use topcashback for my online purchases as you receive money in cashback rather then points. The most useful part of the nectar online programme however is that you can earn points when shopping with amazon, whereas you cannot earn cashback with amazon on any other cashback sites (that I am aware of). A few of the companies you can earn nectar points online with are: Argos Play.com Vodafone Virgin Mobile Lovefilm Waterstones Avon New Look And many more.... Overall this is a worthwhile card to have as if you ever shop as Sainsbury's, buy petrol at Sainsbury's or BP or shop at any of the online retailers then it's worth signing up. Using the online website you can also redeem your points for products rather then for money off your shopping at Sainsburys. A full list of items which you can get for trading in...

Lets play

Advantages: Fun to play, 9 games to play
Disadvantages: none

...The wii has revoloutionised the way we play video games. It has made everyone dancing, waaving arms around crazily, jumping in there own living rooms. I recently bought a wii and it obviously came supplied with the wii sport game but I decided I wanted to buy another game. I choose Wii play by nintendo. I bought the game as the cover looked interesting and the description of the game on the back caught my eye. So I put the game into the wii and started the game up. Good thing with the game is that you can play with your already made Mii's so loading my character up was easy. People that don't know, Mii's are character that you make of yourselves or others so you can play with them in different games. There are 9 different games in total and all use different functions of the wii remote. The games include shooting range, find...

Wii Play

Advantages: Fun game and you get a remote
Disadvantages: Expensive if you don't require another remote

...ages: You get the game free with a remote! Disadvantages: The game can't be bought on its own! I havea recently spent time with my family where I was introduced to the Wii. The Wii game Wi Play is a game which you can get for the Nintendo Wii, its one of the only games which comes with a Wii Remote included. As you pay around the same price for a remote as for this game with remote it is really like getting a free game. The game consists of 12 mini games, which you unlock as you go along. The games seemed to me to be to play and we did have a lot of fun fun! Two people can play the games together.. Suitable for adults, children ( and wrinklies like me) the controls can be picked up easily and quickly - even for me. None of the games include throwing the wii remote around like wii sports, so there is not much danger...

Playing cards

Advantages: Convenient, you get something for nothing
Disadvantages: It'll take you a while to get much

...OK, so I admit it, I couldn't think of a decent title for this op! I mean - how do you come up with a witty pun to do with cards? (anticipates hundreds of comments with viable titles I should really have thought of) Anyway - shopping. We give a lot to the average retailer (i.e all our money), and while we (generally) get what we paid for, it'd be nice to get that little something extra for our effort, to make it seem slightly more worthwhile shopping there than at the almost identical shop we doors down. Retailers would seem to have picked up on their customers vibes, and now nearly every shop worth their salt has some reward scheme or another. It defeats the object for them really, as rather than making them stand out a little more, it makes not that much difference as all their competitors run similar schemes now too! WH Smith is...

Oyster Card

Advantages: Convenient
Disadvantages: You could lose it!

...We Londoners are insistent people. We want cheap travel to anywhere in one of the biggest cities in the world. We want it regularly, without delays and seven days a week?if possible. Not too much to ask then?oh and we want a convenient travel card rather than paying with cash for each individual journey. Of course. Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the Oyster card then. For those who don?t live in London or perhaps have never even stepped foot in the capital, the following paragraphs may read like absolute gobbledegook, but trust me, I think I know what I?m talking about and I think it makes sense. The Oyster card is basically a form of electronic ticketing used on public transport ? buses, some National Rail trains, trams, underground and the Docklands Light Railway system within Greater London. The blue card, which costs just a £3...

Wii Play and remote

Advantages: comes with a remote! Great for kids.
Disadvantages: the game can't be bought on its own.

...This is a game which you can get for the Nintendo Wii, its one of the only games which comes with a Wii Remote included. The wii remotes are arond £30 depending where you get them from (prices do differ from place to place), and this game is around £30 itself, with the wii remote. SO what I have deducted from that is that Wii Play is a game which comes free with the remote itself rather than the other way round. Wii Play is a very short game, it consists of 12 mini games, which you unlock as you go along. The games are very easy to play and they are very very fun! They can all be played in multiplayer mode, but only up to two people can play at one time. The games are suitable for children as well as adults and are very easy use, the controls can be picked up easily and quickly making it a greart game for the kids as you can...

Make a Bee Line for the Nectar Card !!

Advantages: A good way to save for the extras at no extra cost
Disadvantages: None at all.

...THE PURPLE CARD IN MY PURSE THE NECTARCARD I have owned a Nectar card for many years now - in fact my card is the old design and I keep forgetting to upgrade it!! "WHAT IS A NECTAR CARD ??" The Nectar card is a Loyalty or Reward card. It is NOT a credit or debit card and is free to join. Nectar is owned by Groupe Aeroplan Inc., and it is estimated that more than 50 per cent of UK households collect Nectar points when shopping for groceries, booking a holiday, paying household bills, buying petrol and even eating and earn Nectar points every time they shop online via Nectar eStores at over 220 leading online retailers. The scheme was started in September 2002. It is not actually a Sainsbury's Loyalty Card as the Tesco Clubcard is for Tesco, although Sainsburys and BP are the key members in the scheme...
