...Playing the field is such a good programme. The title "playing the field" is literally shown in all senses possible. It is about a woman's football team and the lives of the players. It is gender neutral as in it doesn't bring up issues of football being neither a man or woman's sport. The storylines are realistic and the actors do an outstanding performance. There are many romances, affairs, family secrets revealed as the series goes on, there's never a dull moment. This is suitable for everyone, even people who hate football, because football isn't always the main issue....

...Ray Kinsella is a farmer in Iowa, married to Annie and they have a child, Karin. One day, Ray is in the fields when he hears a voice: "Build it, and he will come." Initially, he thinks he must be dreaming, but the voice comes back to him, along with a vision of a baseball pitch set into part of his land. He becomes convinced that something great will happen and so ploughs one of his fields and turns it into a baseball pitch. Having spent all their savings on the pitch, the Kinsellas are now in deep financial trouble, but when a team of famous baseball players from years ago turn up to play on the pitch, Ray thinks it is all worth it. A level playing field?

Advantages: One of their best tracks is included.
Disadvantages: Quite a bit of dross.

..., Winteringham Fields employs the top people in its profession. Chef and owner Germain Schwab has earned two Michelin stars. Only four other restaurants in the country hold this coveted honour. His head chef Robert Thompson was recently crowned Young Chef of the Year by the Craft Guild of Chefs. Winteringham Fields' reputation did daunt me before I first ate there five years ago. Pizza Express is more my thing. Would I feel comfortable among wine waiters, starched tablecloths and food from the Egon Ronay Guide's Kitchen of the Year? ...Wii Play: I recently hired Wii play from Tesco DVD Rentals to see if I liked it before buying it and I enjoyed it a lot so I thought I would review it for all of you. Wii Play is the kind of game that is great for when you have a group of friends around with several different mini-games to play. There is a multi-player function allowing for two people to play at once. Because the games are short, (a minute or so max), you can all take it turns to play without anyone getting bored whilst still allowing enough time for toilet/cuppa breaks. The original international track and field on the DS

Advantages: Loads of events to master, great graphics and great fun
Disadvantages: Some of the games are a bit hard to master, possibility of ruining the touch screen

...I remember playing International Track and Field back in 1999 on the original Sony Playstation. Playing this in single player mode was boring it was a game to be played with mates and we used to enjoy nothing more than going head to head across the wide range of athletics events available from the 100m sprint to the hammer throw. I remember the abuse the control pads took whilst playing this game. Frantic button bashing was required for every single event, with the 100m, 400m and swimming events giving the control pad the most abuse. Through trial and error we learnt that rather than bash the buttons separately if you put a scarf or old t-shirt over your knuckles and scrapped it across the buttons you could get your character to run faster of throw further. ...Quite simply, Fields of the Nephilim were in my opinion the best band in the world. Their music took me to places that almost no other music has been able to. So I feel priviliged to the first person on Ciao to review this fantastic band. Their style is not to everyone's taste and the vocal style is pretty unique (at least it was until various other bands sprung up trying to copy it), but I have found that their music just grows and grows on you. Fields of the Nephilim were a one-off; they lasted a relatively short amount of time but brought out three astounding albums. Formed in 1984, they brought out their debut EP "Burning the Fields" around that time and played a large number of gigs before landing a record deal and recording their first album, "Dawnrazor" in 1987. ...The wii has revoloutionised the way we play video games. It has made everyone dancing, waaving arms around crazily, jumping in there own living rooms. I recently bought a wii and it obviously came supplied with the wii sport game but I decided I wanted to buy another game. I choose Wii play by nintendo. I bought the game as the cover looked interesting and the description of the game on the back caught my eye. So I put the game into the wii and started the game up. Good thing with the game is that you can play with your already made Mii's so loading my character up was easy. ...The Killing Fields was made in 1984 and is set during the withdrawal of American Troops and the escalation of violence by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. It mainly focuses on the relationship between a journalist for the New York Times, Sydney Schanberg, and his Cambodian friend and colleague, Dith Pran. The true horror of the time is captured through a series of unpleasant episodes consisting of bombings and random executions.
