Advantages: very powerful, multifunctional console

...The PS3 Slim is the latest PlayStation 3 games console, but it is essentially the same console as before, but with slimmed down components and a new, smaller body. The key improvements in the PS3 Slim are the 120GB hard drive, up from 40GB, 60GB and 80gb in previous UK versions and making it slimmer has made it 36 per cent lighter, 33 per cent smaller and it consumes at least 34 per cent less power (for you know worry about you electricity bills).
The PS3 Slim represents a new console just in time for x-mas, one that could start to make sony some profit because up to this is due to the vast majority of PS3 sold so far (around 24 million of them) have been sold at a loss. Playstation 3 Review
Advantages: Blu-Ray, Entertainment, Backward Compatibility, Sixaxis Controller, Wi-Fi, Hardware.
Disadvantages: Price, Lack of Quality Games, Untapped Potential.
...After playing Playstation 2 for years I was happy when Playstation 3 was announced to be released. However that happiness didn't last much. Why?
In my opinion the Playstation 3 (PS3) lacks not only good but also exclusive games. The console is way too expensive and it isn't compensating. Why? You have 2 other consoles that you could buy with the money you'd spend on PS3. Those are the Xbox 360 and the WII consoles.
After playing several PS3 games I've found that graphics are good but sometimes the problem isn't the console but the games that don't use PS3 full settings. One good example is Pro Evolution Soccer a football game that succeeded and achieved greatness in Playstation 2 and when the brand jumped for the 3rd generation console it didn't pay off. The graphics weren't accurate there were lots of bugs the game was slower. Anyway...

The Playstation 3 Rundown
Advantages: Powerfull, Strong feauture, Big back cataloge.
Disadvantages: Expensive, big.

Is the PLAYSTATION3 Worth £300?
Advantages: Powerful System with Great Graphics and Sound.
Disadvantages: Incompatible with PS and PS2 games.
...*This review is for the UK 40GB Playstation 3, I believe there are minor differences in the US version and the 60GB, but most of this information should also apply for the other versions of the PS3.
Graphics 10/10
The PS3 has stunning high definition graphics that are on a par with the Xbox 360. The graphics card is made by NVIDIA.
Power 10/10
Once again the PS3 packs a powerful 3.2GHz Processor and 7x 256MB RAM, which is way ahead of the Wii and is on the same level as the 360, it not only "is" powerful, it "looks" powerful, being the largest of the 7th Generation Consoles.

PLAYSTATION 3 REVIEW
Advantages: GREAT ONLINE FACILITIES; GRAPHICS; MEMORY
Disadvantages: CHOICE OF GAMES; COST
...This is probably the best thing I've ever bought.
I got this when the price was reduced down to £299.99.
The system overall is very good, lots of features and it has a lot of pluses but does have it's minuses too as explained below;
Disadvantages;
1. Not enough games; but the exact same thing happened with the PS2 when that was released but the games quickly increased.
2. Still pretty expensive, especially after Microsoft reducing the cost of the Xbox 360
Advantages;
1. Easy access online, very quick and very simple wireless connection. Good online play and content as you can download a playable demo of every game released so far.
2. Most of the games that have been released are brilliant.
3. Memory size, plenty of space to save your music and pictures and whatever else you want to put on there.

Advantages: Graphics, playability, blu-ray player!

...I have been umming and arring over which colsole to buy, the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3. I had heard a lot of positive things about the Xbox, and I had also heard that graphics wise and gaming wise the Xbox was slightly better than the Playstation 3. However, I eventually decided to go for the Playstation 3 for several reasons.
Firstly, and probably mainly, was because of the recent decision to cancel production of the HD-DVD format (a format which the Xbox 360 is developed to play), meaning that the Blu-Ray dvd format ( a format that the Playstation 3 is developed to play) will dominate the High Definition DVD market in the near future.
Secondly, last year, the PS3's Blu-ray DVD player was voted best High Definition DVD player on the market. A DVD player that would have set you back over £250 to buy on it's own, but by buying...

Playstation 3
Advantages: Great graphics and choice of games
Disadvantages: expensive
...I got one last year for Christmas and found it to be better than my XBox 360 in almost every area, in my opinion this truly is the best games console on the market and would recommend it to anyone who is into their gaming. The graphics are phenomenal and the range of games available is tremendous!
I find the controllers are much easier and more comfortable to use than the other consoles on the market today i.e. xbox 360s controller has no area for the hands to get a grip of and is quite frankly annoying especially when using after the playstation 3, the rechargable controller function is a tremendous help as i was always buying batteries and having the hassle of inserting them into the xbox and now i simply plug into the playstation console and the charges up no problem, i can even use the controller while its charging!

Advantages: Powerful - Good Looking - Easy to setup - Loads of games
Disadvantages: Quite heavy and bulky - Slow install and download times
...- especially with a mouse and keyboard - but it does need some work done - it is quite slow and unresponsive sometimes.
The XMB is very good - it just makes everything so easy to find. The menu is really set out well - you get the feeling everything is where it should be. The ability to connect a PSP is also a nice touch - you can transfer media and control the menus with the PSP.
The ability to play DVD's and Blur rays is really good - but blu ray is so much better. It's sort of like DVD's are PS2 games and Blu Ray's are PS3 games - the quality for DVD's is enhanaced with the upscaling feature - but to be honest blu ray is so much better - the quality will blow you away.
The playstation store is good - I only really use it for trailers and demos - there is a very big selection - howvever you can also get arcade games and movies. In my...
