...I've always wanted to own a digital video camera but never had the money to fork out for one. But this all changed as soon as the Nisis Pocket DV2 Cam caught my eye. I was on a tight budget and really didn't want the hassle of having to install a video capture card and software on my PC just so I can download video and pictures from a more expensive major branded digital video camera. The Nisis DV camera was the answer to all my prayers. It had instant appeal as it was very dinky and lightweight and only required 2 x AA batteries. Unfortunately, this small amount of power doesn't last long and you'll soon find yourself changing batteries very often. I would recommend that you try and keep the LCD screen off at all times and not to play back any movies or photos on the LCD as this will consume most of the power in one short burst... Read review

...I was looking across a gadgets website and i came across this Aiptek Pocket DV2 camcorder. The positive reviews, price and the features didnt take me long in ordering one for myself. Basically the Aiptek Pocket DV2 camcorder has got four major features that include Digital Video Recording, PC Webcam, Still Photos and Voice Recording. The pocket DV2 is like a updated version from the pocket DV with more features including a 1.4" colour LCD screen, Audio/Video Out, 1.3 Mega-Pixel resolution and Expandable Memory (using compact flash cards). I think that DV2 is better than the first one because the colour LCD screen allows you to see what you are going to capture before doing so. Also the resolution is greater which makes the pictures slightly clearer. Also being able to expand the memory as although the camara comes with 16MB... Read review

...I am writing an opinion about the aiptek pocket dv 11 but as this and the aiptek pocket dv are more or less the same and i could not add the specific product i thought i would do it here I have recently aquired one of the dv 11 from america and it arrived safely but i would warn anyone who gets it shipped over there is a £40.00 surcharge when it gets here for vat so whatever the price is in us dollars add $60.00 to it and this will be payable before they hand over the package The camcorder and all the software cost $149 plus $36 for shipping and $50 for the smart card which was quite cheap £153 but then you add the $60.00 as well and it cost £193 which is still a reasonable price with all that is on offer right the dv 11 this is a camcorder,digital camera,voice recorder and a webcam all in one The dv11 fits... ...I ended up with this camera through a really poor judgement call on the part of the administrators at StormPay auctions. If you ever get the chance to do business with them, pass on that. Stick with Ebay or somewhere more reliable. Anyway, this is supposed to be a digital video camera, hence the DV in the name. But it only records about five minutes with the built-in memory card. (You can buy other memory cards, but I like things that are perfect without having to spend a bunch more money.) To me, that isn't really a video. Our family happenings that are videoed typically last anywhere between an hour and three, so that part of the camera is not too impressive. You can buy optional memory cards for more memory, though. The internal card stores 32 MB, so that's pretty good for photos, just not the best for video. I paid $98... Read review

...I can thoroughly recommend the Pocket DV2, although I have to admit to being sceptical when I first layed eyes on it. I mean is it really believable that you can buy a digital and still camera for around £80? Yes it is!!!! This camera can be used as a digital video camera, a web cam, and as a stills camera. It also records voice messages so can double up as a Dictaphone. Although I recommend the camera it is recommended on the basis of price and value for money. In no way is the camera a £500+ digital video cam but at less that £100 the film quality is more than OK. When you receive and open the box containing your camera you find a camera, mini tripod, USB lead, batteries, a lead to connect the camera to your TV and software to get you started. If you are like me you won’t be able to wait and read the instructions. So just stick... Read review

...The Pocket DV2 camcorder from Aiptek really is a little gem. ~~~~~~~~ Introduction ~~~~~~~~ I have never owned, and very rarely used, a camcorder before this one, which I acquired about a month ago. But even I can see that this isn’t a standard sort of camera. The obvious difference from a standard camcorder is size. This one fits snugly into the palm of my hand. Dimensions are a miniscule 8cm tall, 8cm deep (front to back) and only 4cm wide. Despite its mini size, it still manages to incorporate a 1.4 inch LCD screen like the one that you’d usually find on a digital camera. Plus it only weighs 123g (without batteries) – less than an orange. Well, less than the orange I just weighed, anyway.
